Chapter 990: Exploding Room
Ling Meng entered Lin Nuo’s room and was met with a shocking sight.
Ruo’er was actually there, lying on her master’s bed, covered with a blanket!
Weren’t outsiders not allowed inside? How did she end up here?
And on the bed?!
Those Demon Practitioners guarding earlier had just said she couldn’t come in — were they treating her like an outsider?!
Infuriating!
Fury ignited within Ling Meng as she realized that this fox girl, surnamed Li, was truly overstepping her bounds!
It’s said that social status should match, Demons should stick with Demons, but this Immortal Fox was trying to seduce her master!
How could she tolerate this?
“What are you doing? Why are you on Master’s bed?!”
Ling Meng’s furious shout startled Ruo’er.
Hearing Ling Meng’s voice made Ruo’er a little scared.
However, she couldn’t show weakness any longer. After all, she was someone destined to stand by the young master’s side; how could she be scared of this Demon Woman? She had to be tough!
Yeah, Ruo’er, you’re not the weak little maid you once were; you’ve become a little leader of the Fox People. Why should you fear her?
This woman, like Qin Shili and the others, was an obstacle to her closeness with the young master. She absolutely couldn’t show any weakness.
“I’m the young master’s maid; this is completely normal. No need to cause a fuss.”
Ruo’er adjusted her clothes slightly as she got up.
Lying naked on Lin Nuo’s bed? Now that was a serious situation, unaware of what had transpired earlier.
“Ha! Just a mere maid. If we’re talking about status, Master’s maid is also my maid, so you are my maid too. Maybe you haven’t faced much hardship to be so arrogant. How could someone like you act so presumptuously in a Demon’s domain?”
Ling Meng calmed herself; she couldn’t appear too agitated in front of Ruo’er lest she lost her composure.
She quickly adjusted her demeanor, adopting a cold, high-ranking leader’s posture, looking down at Ruo’er while exuding strong Demon Qi.
“The young master has said I’m a Demon now, not an Immortal. Don’t slander me. We’re all Demons here; no one is more noble. Besides, I will only be Master’s maid, not yours. Don’t get ahead of yourself.”
Compared to before, Ruo’er had become much bolder, standing her ground against Ling Meng.
This felt like igniting fireworks, ready to burn the land.
The watching Demon Practitioners were stunned; Lin Nuo had only just left for a bit, and this chaos ensued.
Although the Demon Ruler was formidable, mishandling the harem dynamics had set the place ablaze.
What should they do? Could they intervene?
Impossible; they couldn’t even stop Ling Meng, and who knew what level the Immortal Fox across from them had reached.
“Hurry, go report to the Demon Ruler!”
Scared, they rushed off to investigate Lin Nuo’s whereabouts and report back!
Thus, news of their conflict reached Lin Nuo.
Lin Nuo hurried back to his room. By that time, the room was already filled with intense Demon and Immortal Qi; although they hadn’t fully clashed yet, the intertwining of both energies would definitely cause a strong reaction, triggering an energetic explosion.
“Oh no, this is bad.”
Lin Nuo realized it was too late; the collision of the two energies ultimately resulted in a massive upheaval.
Boom!
With a loud crash, Lin Nuo’s room exploded.
Ruo’er and Ling Meng were blasted away by the force of the energy.
“Stop, stop, stop! You two, hold on!”
Lin Nuo quickly stepped in as a mediator to defuse the situation.
“What are you two doing? It’s late at night; what are you fighting for? And can we not use my room as a duel ground?”
Lin Nuo complained, but both insisted they hadn’t thrown the first punch; the explosion was entirely the other’s fault.
This revealed to Lin Nuo just how volatile the mix of Immortal and Demon Qi could be. Thinking back, he recalled that when he was cultivating with Ruo’er, no explosion occurred — he had truly dodged a bullet there.
“Master, why was she on your bed? And naked?”
Ling Meng angrily questioned, seeking an explanation.
“On my bed? Naked?”
Lin Nuo tried to recall; he hadn’t engaged in any cultivation with Ruo’er before leaving, and he wasn’t forgetful to that extent.
“Let’s set that aside for now. Why are you here?” Lin Nuo countered.
“I came to say goodnight to Master; it’s a basic courtesy of a disciple.”
“I didn’t request that.”
“If everything requires you to say it, then my comprehension must be pitiful.”
“…You have a point.”
Lin Nuo sighed in exasperation, saying he didn’t want them to come over, and yet here they were, one after another.
Had his words lost all authority?
“Ruo’er, I told you to wait in my room.”
“Indeed, Young Master, I was just in your room and hadn’t left. But this sister barged in and tried to attack me. I didn’t fight back either.”
Ruo’er retorted confidently, as if she had done nothing wrong.
To her, sitting on Lin Nuo’s bed was no different than sitting at the tea table; Lin Nuo wouldn’t blame her.
“Not… you couldn’t possibly just jump on my bed… Although neither of you fought back, your energies caused an explosion. Alright, I better go rest in the mountains.”
Lin Nuo shook his head; a simple nap couldn’t be taken without them knowing; otherwise, the room might explode again.
“Junior Martial Brother, what happened?”
Hearing the commotion, Liu Shuqin rushed out, witnessing Lin Nuo’s room in ruins and the two girls radiating a mix of Immortal and Demon Qi.
“Did Ruo’er and Ling Meng fight?”
“Pretty much.”
Lin Nuo helplessly remarked, casually extinguishing the raging fire. Now a crowd of Demon Practitioners and Fox People had gathered, thinking they’d encountered an outside invasion, when in fact it was just a fight between Lin Nuo’s wives.
Though they wouldn’t dare discuss it openly, it would surely become a private laughing matter among themselves.
“Since the young master’s room is destroyed, how about you come to my room?”
“Come to my room, Master. You’re a Demon; how can you share a room with an Immortal? That would definitely cause another explosion.”
“I’ve spent so long with the young master; that wouldn’t happen. You on the other hand, are so malicious; you’re the main culprit behind the destruction of the young master’s room!”
The two bickered again, but Lin Nuo hurriedly interrupted:
“You two, go back to your own rooms to rest. Don’t come out again, understand? I’ll go where I need to.”
“But…”
“Are you not listening to me? And you all, what are you doing? Go back!”
Lin Nuo turned and sternly admonished the eavesdropping subordinates, who had no choice but to retreat sheepishly.
“Not going back?”
Lin Nuo’s gaze turned back to Ruo’er and Ling Meng. If he didn’t be a bit more forceful, they’d truly take his words lightly.
Lin Nuo was angry now, leaving them with nothing to say, and they could only return to their respective rooms.
However, Liu Shuqin hadn’t left; she remained standing behind Lin Nuo.
This reminded her of the time at the Xuanyun Sect when Qin Shili and Su Kexin had a dispute over the Spirit Spring, and she was merely an outsider.
