Chapter 1035: Am I a Princess?
This wasn’t the first time the girl had this dream; for the past few days, she had been repeating the same dream—her childhood self, and then that little boy appeared. He was just as small as her, but very reliable, as if he knew everything about the world.
It felt like Lin Nuo.
Could it really be Lin Nuo? Was it because she missed him too much, causing him to appear in her dreams?
But if it was truly missing him, why was he in the form of a little boy, instead of how he looked now? She wasn’t that cruel to have an interest in a little boy.
So strange.
However, a familiar character appeared in the dream—Su Kexin, as she introduced herself.
She had no good feelings towards Su Kexin, so why did she show up?
It was unclear, but it involved a place called the Demon Realm, and she inexplicably felt a connection to it.
Overthinking wouldn’t help; after all, it was just a dream.
But she heard others say that having the same dream recurring could be a sign of something.
Maybe she should find someone to interpret her dream and see what the dream interpreter would say.
The girl rubbed her eyes. Every time she had this dream, she felt exhausted, but lying back down, she couldn’t sleep again—it was truly uncomfortable.
She decided to check it out, to find someone to interpret her dream.
Dressed up, she prepared to go out. Now that Helong Hall’s power was waning, mainly due to the fall of the Demon Star, more and more people chose to join the demon path to survive. Little did they know that rashly joining the demon path often led to a swift demise—ordinary people suddenly cultivating demonic powers could easily get into trouble.
With instability within, even the second-in-command of Helong Hall, previously a strong force, had started avoiding the Refining Demon Sect’s influence; he no longer had the earlier majesty.
She also didn’t know how far she could still lead this organization; perhaps she would have to consider joining the demon path herself.
If she did join, she certainly wouldn’t go to the Refining Demon Sect, but to Lin Nuo.
But it had been a long time since she heard from Lin Nuo; she had no idea where to find him.
“Miss, you look so tired. Did you not sleep well last night?”
The maid attending Mu Yiting expressed concern. It had been several days, and she had even tried giving Mu Yiting a head massage and seeking herbs for her, but nothing worked.
“It’s just a dream I had, nothing much. I’m going out for a bit; you stay here. I can go alone.”
“But Miss, you’re so exhausted and still want to go out alone. What if something happens? Let me accompany you, just in case.”
“No need. I’ve escaped hell multiple times; my life is not meant to end like this. If something happens, so be it. Now, don’t say more, just stay here.”
Mu Yiting instructed her maid, who felt helpless and had no choice but to comply.
Out she went, knowing there was a place to interpret dreams, but her residence was far from the market, so she had to go into the city.
She needed to disguise herself; Helong Hall had made too many enemies before, and now those enemies had all begun to cling to the Refining Demon Sect, seeking revenge using their backers. It was quite necessary to disguise herself before going out.
Her journey went surprisingly smoothly; she didn’t attract any trouble and successfully arrived at her destination. It was a fortune-telling shop, quite deserted today with not many people around, its walls and tables plastered with various mysterious fu.
The one interpreting dreams and fortunes was an old man with white hair. Seeing Mu Yiting enter, he kindly asked:
“May I ask what brings you here, miss? Fortune-telling or dream interpretation?”
“Dream interpretation, boss.”
Mu Yiting replied blandly, then gracefully walked over to sit in front of the boss.
“Good, then please tell me about your dream.”
“Um, alright.”
She patiently recounted the dream she had been having lately, having done so many times that she remembered the details clearly and relayed them as accurately as she could.
The boss listened attentively, then asked for Mu Yiting’s birth date, which she provided.
“This dream is a bit strange; please hold on.”
The boss planned to calculate something for her. Since she kept having the same dream, it had to mean something.
However, something bizarre occurred. As the boss prepared the divination symbols, he suddenly staggered, darkness enveloping his vision, and he collapsed.
Mu Yiting: “?! Boss, what happened? Boss?!”
No matter how she called out, the boss didn’t respond, and his body showed no signs of life—no breathing, no heartbeat.
“What…? What’s going on…?”
This was too strange; it jolted the exhausted Mu Yiting back to alertness. How could a perfectly healthy person suddenly die?!
She better get out of here quickly, or others might think she was the cause of his death.
Just as Mu Yiting reached for her birth date papers to flee, the boss stood back up.
This startled her again. What was happening?! Didn’t he just die?!
“You, didn’t you just, die?!”
“He was indeed dead, Your Highness.”
The boss’s eyes were blank; his voice was cold, like a puppet.
“What do you mean? What ‘Your Highness’? What are you talking about?”
“Did you not see him in your dream? You just lack that portion of memory. But don’t worry, even so, your soul remains; you will eventually remember your homeland.”
“Homeland? What are you talking about? What does this dream mean? And who are you? Don’t make me resort to force!”
Mu Yiting drew her Sharp Sword, pointing it at the puppet-like boss.
“Your Highness, my name is Han, from the Demon Realm’s Tianqi Kingdom. My soul is now attached to this human body. I once assisted your father, but he is now gravely ill, and all other offspring, except for you, have passed away. You are the only living descendant of the Tianqi royal family, and the kingdom urgently needs you to inherit the throne.”
“I don’t know anything about the Demon Realm or being a princess. I have no memory of what you’re saying. My organization is struggling to survive and has no resources to help your so-called Tianqi Kingdom.” Mu Yiting said.
“Your Highness, when Tianqi Kingdom fell into difficulties, you possessed a unique power. The king feared you would be exploited by demons from other countries and thus sent your soul to the human realm. Now, with Tianqi Kingdom reviving, its last prince has passed from a serious illness, and the king is also on the brink of death, so you must be summoned back to the Demon Realm. Your memory was erased upon entering the human realm, but the royal bloodline will never let you completely forget it. Your bloodline is what causes you to have this dream, representing your past. Unfortunately, you haven’t seen the Demon Realm.”
“Are you saying my dream is actually about my past? Then who is that little boy in the vision? Even though I was small back then, I never remembered that little boy.”
“The boy you mentioned, I suspect he is that human survivor. His name in the human realm is Lin Nuo,” the old man said.
“Lin Nuo? Survivor?”
Mu Yiting was confused. Had she seen Lin Nuo when she was a child?
She had no memory of that at all!
