Chapter 1108: I Accept You
Qin Shili was still unaware of the position of the Sect Leader, and the attendant in the dormitory didn’t provide any answers.
She had no choice but to leave and come back later.
On her way back, she passed by the residence of Master Cong.
She completely dismissed it.
At that moment, she overheard some gossip about her.
It was simply about her connection to the Demon Path.
With a crooked upper beam, how could a disciple of the already dubious Master Cong be led in a good direction?
“Qin Shili.”
Approaching her was Master Cong’s proud disciple, Xie Yu, who had entered the sect around the same time as Qin Shili. He was a promising talent, gifted and well-regarded in the sect, though his skill was just slightly inferior to hers.
However, Qin Shili didn’t even spare him a glance; she certainly wasn’t going to regard this disciple of Master Cong.
“I just heard some disciples discussing you, saying you are dabbling in the Demon Path. I think that’s a misunderstanding, but it doesn’t seem to be baseless. If you’re willing to talk about it, I can help clear things up.”
“No need.”
Qin Shili coldly replied without looking at him and walked away.
“Didn’t you hear that last time the Sect Leader invited her to the training cave, they detected her inclination towards the Demon Path?”
“Didn’t some disciples see the Demon Qi on her? Is it hidden away?”
“Who knows? Let the esteemed masters decide. After all, she’s still a hope for the sect and it’s quite unbelievable.”
……
These disciples chattered away, and with each retelling, the story morphed into various versions, leaving her under suspicion.
Yet, Qin Shili’s mindset remained relatively stable; she wouldn’t care about those weak disciples’ opinions and firmly believed the sect would give her a fair deal.
Or perhaps she could seek out her master to discuss the matter.
Unknowingly, she returned to Han Fairy’s residence, where a few Immortal Cranes were present, and Ruo’er was feeding them.
“Where’s Lin Nuo?”
She coldly asked Ruo’er, who was startled and dropped some feed in her trembling hand.
“Ah…? You’re asking about the Young Master…? I… I don’t know… Uh, is there something you need him for…?”
Faced with Qin Shili’s imposing presence, Ruo’er stumbled over her words.
“Forget it.”
Qin Shili didn’t question further, ending the topic as she entered the residence.
“Shili, you…”
As she walked in, she saw Liu Shuqin, who looked worried and was hesitant to start the conversation.
“Is there something wrong?” Qin Shili asked.
“Some disciples just said they saw you at the Ruyue Hall, with Demon Qi on you. Is that true?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“But you’re my junior martial sister; how can I not worry?”
“Where’s the master? I need to speak with her.”
“The master went to find Master Cong.”
“Where to find him? I happen to also be looking for Master Cong.”
“That, I’m not sure.”
Liu Shuqin replied,
“Shili, what’s it about? Why are you…?”
“Do you know where Lin Nuo is?”
Qin Shili continued to change the topic, refusing to discuss the matter directly with Liu Shuqin.
Liu Shuqin was surprised that Qin Shili was actively asking about Lin Nuo’s whereabouts.
After all, she usually ignored him entirely; no one else would even think to let her pass on messages to him.
It was indeed peculiar.
“I just saw Junior Martial Brother at the entrance of the residence, but he was in a hurry and vanished in the blink of an eye.”
Liu Shuqin responded,
“Shili, why are you suddenly asking about Junior Martial Brother?”
“Nothing.”
Qin Shili evaded Liu Shuqin’s question again and directly turned to leave the residence.
Liu Shuqin couldn’t help it; Qin Shili was always as cold as ice, aloof and solitary. Who would know her business?
She was just worried that with the disciples discussing her like this, it might have a negative impact.
Qin Shili couldn’t find the person she was looking for. The Sect Leader wasn’t there, Han Fairy had gone to find Master Cong, and Master Cong was missing too. As for Lin Nuo, there was no trace of him either; she couldn’t get any concrete answers.
Perhaps the training cave would have the person she was looking for.
She had no choice but to head there.
However, just as she was about to leave the residence, she saw Lin Nuo outside, playing with Ruo’er and the Immortal Cranes, and they all scattered away at his arrival.
He wasn’t liked inside or by the beasts outside.
“Young Master, you’re here! Sister Qin was just asking about you!”
“What kind of international joke is this? How could Second Martial Sister be asking about me? Is she asking if I’m dead?” Lin Nuo chuckled.
“No, no! Young Master, don’t say such ominous things. She just asked where you were. Um, she’s inside.”
Ruo’er turned to point towards the residence, just when Qin Shili stood at the entrance.
She hurriedly walked towards Lin Nuo, a powerful aura surrounding her, making Ruo’er immediately step back.
“Young Master, I’ll go tend to the Immortal Cranes now, you two chat!”
She knew her Young Master liked Qin Shili, so she didn’t stay.
Lin Nuo understood why she came but kept it to himself; he merely maintained his usual demeanor.
“Second Martial Sister, what a coincidence! We meet again. Look, I picked you a flower. Beautiful flowers match beautiful people; it’s perfect for you.”
Lin Nuo offered the flower to Qin Shili, but she remained unperturbed.
She coldly asked:
“How did you manage it before?”
“What do you mean, manage it?” Lin Nuo scratched his head.
“Stop pretending. Where did you move that pile of Demon Qi?”
“You mean the Demon Qi? Second Martial Sister, if you accept my pursuit, I’ll tell you. Otherwise, how could I bear to share such important information with an outsider?”
Lin Nuo teased her, fully aware of her eagerness to know, and this was exactly what he wanted. With the opportunity, he could get closer to her.
With her current character, keeping her guessing was much better than just telling her outright.
After all, he still played the role of the carefree guy; the more inscrutable he seemed, the better for him.
“Fine, I accept, now speak.”
Qin Shili directly agreed, but she wasn’t foolish. If Lin Nuo couldn’t provide the information she wanted, then this promise was worthless; she just wanted to fish for information.
“My Second Martial Sister, you’re too hasty in your reply.”
Lin Nuo could see through her thoughts; she was a heartless person, agreeing just to deny at will.
A complete flirt.
In the past, he’d be so excited it would keep him awake for days; a little introverted boy pursuing his goddess, it was a major life event.
But now…
Ha.
“Second Martial Sister, since you’ve accepted me, it’s not just on paper; we need actual actions too. Things like holding hands, hugging, kissing, that’s not too much, right? We could even cultivate together.”
“Don’t get too carried away.”
Qin Shili snapped back, emitting a chill, prompting Lin Nuo to quickly step back, raising his hands defensively:
“My Second Martial Sister, having a request is bad for your attitude.”
