Chapter 1285: The Battle of the Sacred Mountain
“Hmm? What is this…?”
Han Zhe was greatly surprised as the many Sacred Beasts he had summoned were now being eroded and demonized.
This was not a good omen.
If the Sacred Beasts all turned to demons, their current situation would be critical.
“Master, should we advance further?”
“Retreat.”
Han Zhe was a master who knew which way the wind blew—he understood what to do in every situation.
However, it wasn’t easy to leave now, as the Sacred Beasts all had terrifying blood-red eyes, glaring menacingly at the Sacred Warriors entering the mountains, eager to tear them apart and devour them for nourishment.
Han Zhe blew his flute again, trying to lull them to sleep momentarily with its sound, but it failed completely; they wouldn’t listen at all.
Then the fierce demonized Sacred Beasts rushed at them, fierce and unstoppable. Despite the bravery of the Sacred Warriors in battle, they struggled to withstand the onslaught of the beasts and soon faced defeat.
As Han Zhe searched for a way to withdraw, the Sacred Warriors provided cover, but with more and more Sacred Warriors sacrificing their lives, he felt he might manage to escape.
Suddenly, Aike, the leader of the Handa Alliance from the Demon Realm, intercepted him. When two leaders met, it wasn’t for an alliance but rather a fight to the death.
“Aike, we’re both allies in the Handa Alliance, yet you have hidden motives, killing your allies—what a disgrace!”
Han Zhe scolded Aike fiercely, yet Aike only responded with a casual chuckle, unfazed by talk of disgrace.
“I must say, Han Brother, if I don’t attack you, then you’d want to attack me, right? What do you think I don’t know? There’s no such thing as a true ally, just temporary interests. But what surprises me is how quickly you were able to suppress this situation. Don’t you have a partner ally? Come on, scared to show up?”
“Hah, why would I divulge that to you?”
Han Zhe retorted, but even if he said he wouldn’t, Aike had already figured it out. He’d come by himself; was he not a dictator?
“Brother, I genuinely want to drink with you again. How about you share a cup of wine brewed with spring water today?”
Aike was worried that Han Zhe wouldn’t understand how he had demonized the Sacred Beasts, deliberately steering him to think, so he would realize how he had stolen Han’s Sacred Beasts.
“It seems you’ve been plotting this for a long time; indeed, the water source here has issues.”
Han Zhe noticed. Aike’s hidden trick was utterly disgusting.
He drew his great sword and shouted at Aike:
“Aike, since we are both leaders of the Handa Alliance and have come to this point, let’s settle it with strength. Come, we’ll duel!”
“A duel? Ha ha.”
Aike was cunning; considering the situation, how could he fall for that?
“If you can eliminate all the demonized Sacred Beasts, then we can have a duel later. Of course, I doubt you’ll make it to that day.”
Aike snapped his fingers, ordering all the demonized Sacred Beasts to come over and block Han Zhe, ensuring he would die here today.
Han Zhe was enraged, looking at Aike’s despicable display, wanting to rip him to shreds. But now, he had to fend off the attacks of the beasts.
A fierce battle ensued, the scene was horrific, and the sounds of explosions erupted from the Sacred Mountain, shaking the land.
Meanwhile, Lin Nuo and the others felt the tremors from the outside as if the end of the world had come, seemingly like the Sacred Realm was about to collapse.
“Lin, those energies are coming from the Sacred Mountain.”
“They’ve started fighting. If we rush in now, we might just get lucky,” Lin Nuo remarked.
“Should we go now?”
“I was just joking. Forget going in. I suddenly have a new idea.”
“What idea?”
The two asked in unison, figuring Lin Nuo must have devised some incredible plan again.
“Since you came over here, you should try to go back the same way.”
“Huh? We tried that; there’s no way back.”
“Standing still won’t work; we need to utilize the original traces. That passageway, though sealed, try to see if you can activate it again.”
Lin Nuo meant to let the two return. After all, the Sacred Beasts had rushed back to the Sacred Mountain to fight, so they weren’t being watched now.
“Then, let’s go back.”
“Mm mm, going back, we’ll do as Brother says.”
The two obediently listened; whatever Lin Nuo said, they would do, even if it was regarding themselves.
Of course, that was what they most looked forward to.
Lin Nuo had to not stray too far from the original passageway; otherwise, the lack of Demon Qi would cause the chains to fail too quickly.
The three returned to the scene, which had been ravaged by dragon breath, leaving nothing behind, not even bones. Yet the traces of the spell remained slightly, so it depended on whether Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue, the Sacred Light sisters, could work together to reawaken it.
“How did you do it before? Come, give it another shot.”
Lin Nuo stepped back a bit; after all, he was about to harness the Sacred Light, and he shouldn’t stay too close.
“It was very peculiar before; it felt like a rare encounter. Hmm… let’s try again.”
Su Kexin and Luo Xiaoxue exchanged glances, nodded to each other, and then the Sacred Light reappeared on them.
This Sacred Light was even more intense when in the mortal realm, yet no matter how strong it was, the original passageway failed to activate.
They flashed for a long time, but aside from blinding brightness, it was useless.
It was painful to watch.
Lin Nuo shook his head, signaling them to stop.
“Okay, enough already. If it’s not working, it’s not working. I mean, why do you have to be so unreliable? Alright, we can’t go back; let’s look for another place.”
Lin Nuo stroked his chin thoughtfully; the larger the energy source, the more secrets it held. A passage like this could be opened using powerful energy.
So where did such immense power come from?
From there—the Sacred Mountain.
Now, there was a tremendous surge of energy, though he didn’t know what was going on; the powerful energy, coupled with the strength of these two sisters, might just have the potential to tear apart space.
Desperate times required desperate measures.
But he didn’t set off immediately; he observed patiently, as the chaos there had yet to conclude.
On the Sacred Mountain, Aike’s demonized Sacred Beasts were butchering Han Zhe’s Sacred Warrior army. He felt he could easily kill Han Zhe when suddenly, something went wrong.
In a rage, Han Zhe erupted with power, descending like a heavenly god, chopping through the beasts and breaking through the siege. With thunder rumbling and lightning striking in conjunction with his roar and strength, half of the Sacred Mountain was cleaved apart.
The scene was utterly glorious; it seemed like the Sacred Mountain was destroyed in that instant, with all life about to perish.
“Damn it, he got away!”
Aike was furious; such a favorable situation was unexpectedly ruined by Han Zhe, and he had no means to pursue.
“Forget it, he won’t last long in this state. Soon he will tire, and we can strike while the iron is hot.”
Aike was not idle; he was preparing to chase after him.
