Chapter 1297: Inescapable Demon Realm
“Master, you killed Aike! You’re so powerful, truly worthy of being the strongest Supreme Demon Lord in the world!”
Ling Meng fully believed Lin Nuo’s earlier boasting; she thought that whatever he wanted the world to be, it would be.
“Just nonsense. They believed it because we took the opportunity to sneak into their territory while they were on their way here. Their leader is somewhat capable, so we must not let our guard down.”
Lin Nuo whispered to Ling Meng, ensuring that the Handa Alliance’s demons didn’t overhear and reignite their hopes.
“Huh? He’s not dead yet? I thought what Master said was true! So where did Master go before? Why did he suddenly disappear? Is there something going on? And what about that demon that looks a lot like me? Also…”
“Hey, Ling, are you getting a bit too close?”
Qin Shili couldn’t stand it anymore. Everyone was keeping their distance to avoid disrupting Lin Nuo in this serious situation, but Ling Meng seemed intent on getting close to him.
“No way! I’m just on friendly terms with Master; there’s nothing wrong with that. Are you jealous?”
“I just hope you don’t distract him. Your reckless actions could lead to his plans failing.”
The two started bickering again; they had been working well together before, but now they were at each other’s throats.
Taking the opportunity, Lin Nuo stepped a few paces ahead to let them argue behind him as he examined the teleportation array.
He wasn’t sufficiently familiar with their secret techniques yet. If he had more time, he might understand them, but having recently arrived, grasping all the techniques here was no different from dreaming.
“This is it, but it can’t be used yet. Even if you step inside, there will be no reaction. If you don’t believe it, go on and try walking in.”
The demon leading them explained. Before him was a seemingly ordinary teleportation array, emitting a faint glow.
“This? This teleportation array definitely lacks some ritual, but it can still function.”
After observing for a moment, Lin Nuo made a deduction.
“So, you want me to step in and be transported to Aike, is that it?”
Lin Nuo’s cold statement made the guiding demon tremble, his back going cold as if Lin Nuo had seen through everything.
“Huh? My Lord, what are you talking about…? Aike was killed by you, how could we send you over there…”
They tried to explain, but it didn’t deceive Lin Nuo at all.
This teleportation array could indeed be used for transport, albeit allowing only a few people through. Most couldn’t see it as anything but an incomplete array, rendered unusable.
However, stepping into it would transport the person elsewhere.
As for where, it likely had to do with Aike, perhaps directly to him.
These guys seemed to believe Aike was dead, yet some part of them still doubted. This was their plan to trick him, intending to lure him into stepping onto the teleportation array and jump right into Aike’s arms.
Why didn’t Aike just teleport back?
Because he had to bring a bunch of companions, including the four demonized sacred beasts, and plenty of other demon beasts too; he’d need a teleportation array that could accommodate a lot of people.
If such an array existed, Lin Nuo had already destroyed it. Moreover, if he returned with his entourage, Lin Nuo would have vanished without a trace.
And if he returned alone, it was uncertain whether he could handle Lin Nuo and the others.
So they planned to outsmart Lin Nuo, enticing him to step into this seemingly flawed teleportation array and send him straight to Aike.
But he didn’t fall for it.
“Alright, you can go over there and demonstrate it for me.”
Lin Nuo decisively decapitated him and kicked the head onto the teleportation array; the head vanished.
It had been transported.
At that moment, Aike, on his way back, was waiting for someone from Lin Nuo’s group to be sent over, only to discover a head of one of his subordinates.
Upon seeing it, he understood that Lin Nuo had seen through everything.
“This human… is quite arrogant. Well, we will meet again.”
Aike wasn’t in a hurry to return. Although their headquarters had been destroyed by Lin Nuo and the others, they didn’t know that even if they wrecked the headquarters, leaving the Demon Realm would still be a tall order.
Typically, to go from the Demon Realm to the human world, one must first reach the boundary domain of the Three Realms, and then return to the human world. Only a select few could manage this, like Mu Yiting.
Mu Yiting could travel from the boundary to the human world, but she had no control over the process from the Demon Realm to the boundary, depending on Handa Alliance’s special teleportation arrays.
But he wasn’t leaving them with such arrays; they would unable to return from the Demon Realm to the Three Realms.
Even if they found such an array, the result would still be the same; they would be sent straight to him.
Time and space on this side were already under his control; they couldn’t change anything.
Thus, Aike wasn’t worried about Lin Nuo escaping the Demon Realm; as long as Lin Nuo remained there, he would eventually meet his demise.
At this moment, at the headquarters of the Handa Alliance in the Demon Realm, Lin Nuo had confirmed that the teleportation array introduced by those demons was unusable, killing any thoughts of using it to return.
He wanted Mu Yiting to try sending them to the boundary region of the Three Realms, and naturally, Mu Yiting agreed to Lin Nuo’s request.
“I haven’t tried it yet, but I hope it will be similar to the incantation for returning to the human world.”
With that, Mu Yiting began chanting, radiating beams of light, and then a teleportation array appeared before them.
This array was indeed a lot cooler than the Handa Alliance’s.
“It seems feasible! Perhaps we really can use it to reach the boundary of the Three Realms. Lin Nuo, just give the order; we can enter now.”
“You haven’t tried this before, right?” Lin Nuo asked.
“No, this is the first time. But I believe it should work.”
“Hm. If it works, we can go home. However, this all seems a bit too smooth.”
Lin Nuo pondered for a moment, sighed in relief, then split off a shadowy figure.
This shadow was different from the ones before; Lin Nuo could gain vision through it, and this phantasm resembled his true self so closely it was hard to tell apart.
But there was a downside: if this shadow were struck hard, he would suffer injuries too, plus maintaining this shadow required significant Demon Soul Power.
“Lin Nuo, what do you plan to do?”
“I’m planning to send it to scout.”
“But shadows only serve to confuse, right? How will it scout for you?”
“That’s a standard shadow. Mine is not ordinary.”
Lin Nuo commanded the shadow to step in, and soon, Mu Yiting’s teleportation array sent Lin Nuo’s shadow across.
Meanwhile, on Aike’s side, he welcomed someone he had been eager to see.
“Ha, it seems you’ve found a new teleportation array, Lin Nuo. Too bad, you don’t know, they will only send you here.”
Aike looked at the incoming shadow of Lin Nuo, clenching his fist, as Lin Nuo’s shadow exploded.
