Chapter 25: Is It a Rumble Right from the Start?

Chapter 25: Is It a Rumble Right from the Start?

“Oh, there are quite a few people here. I wonder what the first assessment actually is.”

Passing through the corridor, Aierjisi arrived at another hall where many others were also gathered to become Adventurers. This made her even more curious about what this second assessment would entail.

“Hey, little girl, this isn’t a place for playing house. You should hurry back home.”

In a place surrounded by adults, Aierjisi, who looked just like a little girl, quickly caught the attention of those around her. Three clueless guys came up to advise Aierjisi to go home and play house with her mother.

“How rude! I’m seriously trying to become an Adventurer. And don’t you think your ridiculous gender bias is a little outdated?”

Aierjisi snapped back at those clueless guys and turned to find a less crowded spot to be alone.

“What?! Just a stinky little brat! How dare you look down on me!”

Clearly, Aierjisi’s words had angered them, and they were ready to teach her a lesson.

“Come on, if we throw a punch now, we’ll lose our eligibility.”

One of his companions grabbed his arm, urging him not to act yet. There were soldiers nearby ensuring safety, and starting a fight now would only backfire on them.

“Yeah, well. Anyway, there will be plenty of chances to teach that little brat a lesson later.”

After being persuaded, the man finally loosened his grip on his blade. There would be better opportunities soon; no need to rush now.

【I hope this little princess doesn’t go too far.】

Yake was leaning on the railing of the observation platform, watching the little princess with a worried expression.

Becoming an Adventurer in the Kingdom wasn’t an easy task. The Kingdom needed powerful individuals, not weaklings with a combat skill of only 5 points. Thus, the Adventurer assessments were quite challenging. The first assessment was a free-for-all brawl. Once 120 participants gathered, the Staff would announce the commencement of this assessment. The requirements were simple yet difficult: participants had to defeat five other contenders to pass. When Yake had gone through this assessment initially, he had to put in significant effort just to claim five victories to pass.

However, Yake wasn’t worried about Aierjisi failing; considering her totally unreasonable fighting power, it would be a piece of cake for her to pass. What he was concerned about was another aspect—what if this little princess accidentally overdid it and wiped out all 119 other participants? That would definitely draw a lot of attention. All he could do now was hope that she knew her limits and didn’t go overboard.

“Ahem. Welcome everyone to the first assessment for Adventurers’ qualifications! I’m Yedatao, and now I’ll explain the rules of this assessment!”

As the numbers approved, a man stood on the platform, shouting loudly. The competitors below looked up at him.

“The rules of this assessment are simple: only the strong will stand till the end! Therefore, the rule of this assessment is to defeat your fellow participants. Once you’ve defeated five people, you can pass! So, everyone, fight! If you don’t fight, you can’t pass! The battle starts now!”

After finishing the explanation, Yedatao swiftly made his exit like he was flying. After all, a massive brawl was about to break out, and he didn’t want to get hurt.

“I see, to pass I need to defeat at least five people?”

Aierjisi nodded. No wonder those clueless guys had mentioned earlier that there would be chances to teach her a lesson—it was all starting to make sense.

“Hey, kid. You can still quit and leave. I don’t want to fight a child.”

Speak of the devil, those rude men from earlier were coming up to provoke her.

“Heh. I’ll return that line to you! You better leave now while you still can; I’m not interested in wasting my time on weaklings like you.”

Aierjisi looked disdainfully at the men. Honestly, they were really weak. Even the Fear Wolves she fought in the dungeon were more of a challenge.

“Fine then, looks like we have to teach you a lesson! Let me show you my might!”

Seeing that Aierjisi refused to back down, the man unsheathed his Giant Sword from his back.

“Prepare to die!”

With the Giant Sword raised high, he leapt at Aierjisi to strike! Although it was a bit too much to use such a move against a child, he thought it was necessary to teach her a lesson for being so cocky.

Instead of retreating to dodge the attack, Aierjisi dashed straight toward the descending man.

【What? That speed?!】

Aierjisi displayed a speed unmatched for her age, catching the man completely off guard. But by then, it was too late. Aierjisi leaped just as he was about to land, thrusting her fist up at him.

“Zestim Rising Dragon Fist!”

Seeing Aierjisi’s fist coming, the man hurriedly tried to defend by crossing his sword in front of him.

Crack!

“What…”

The man gasped in amazement as the sword he painstakingly crafted shattered upon contact with the little girl’s fist. And her fist kept coming, landing a solid hit on his chin.

“Ugh!”

With a scream, the man was sent flying by Aierjisi’s punch.

“Huh?”

His companions blinked, rubbing their eyes in disbelief, wondering if they were seeing things. Did that small girl really just knockout that man?

“Next up should be you guys.”

Aierjisi looked at the man’s companions—just as weak as he was. Since she had to take down five to pass, might as well take them all down now.

“Let’s go at her together.”

Seeing Aierjisi targeting him and another guy, the second man decided they should team up. Two against one might give them a chance.

“Alright, let’s charge!”

The two of them drew their weapons and charged at Aierjisi.

“Honestly, you lot are just downright foolish. But I do have to commend that courage to face a strong enemy.”

Aierjisi spread her arms wide. Red and blue light radiated from her outstretched hands.

“Zestim Drive.”

Without mercy, Aierjisi swung her Light Whip at the two rushing to their doom, effortlessly handing them a brutal beating.
