Chapter 023: Primordial Morning Mist

It disappeared.

Bai Qiulan finally let out a long sigh of relief.

This drop of Chaos Yin Poison had finally vanished.

It must have been just the first drop of Chaos Yin Poison, rather stubborn, or perhaps it was because she had yet to grasp the basics of the Great Yin Transformation Scripture that led to the poison’s persistence.

That must be it…

Yet, deep down, a thread of panic she was reluctant to acknowledge flickered.

“Congratulations, Junior Sister, on breaking through the Unity of Dao. How are you feeling now?” Sun Ruowei hurriedly asked.

“Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine,” Bai Qiulan replied with a smile.

But Sun Ruowei wasn’t convinced, grabbing Bai Qiulan’s small hand to check her pulse.

“Cold air has entered your body, and your vitality is weak. For someone in the Unity of Dao realm, this pulse is concerning! And you say you’re fine?” Sun Ruowei exclaimed, her eyes wide.

Bai Qiulan wriggled free, letting out a light laugh, “It’s just a minor issue.”

Yue Hongling stayed silent, standing quietly to the side, while Sun Shibo seemed to sense something and wanted to investigate further.

Yue Hongling still recalled how shocked Sun Ruowei had been in their past life when she discovered that both she and her Master were Lu Ye’s women.

Even at the moment of death, Sun Shibo’s last words had been, “No way! How is it so messy with you all?”

Since such things wouldn’t happen in this life, there was no need for Sun Shibo to dig deeper.

“Where’s Lu Ye?” Bai Qiulan asked.

“To the God Burial Ridge…”

“Seems like it.”

Sun Ruowei was confused. “Wait, how do you all know Lu Ye went to train there? And what is this God Burial Ridge? The name sounds impressive, yet I’ve never heard of it!”

“Master, should we go check it out?” Yue Hongling asked.

“No need,” came the reply.

Yue Hongling hesitated, wanting to say something but holding back.

Bai Qiulan understood, seizing Yue Hongling’s shoulder, and both of their figures vanished in an instant.

Sun Ruowei was left dumbfounded. She gazed at the empty sky where Bai Qiulan and Yue Hongling had been.

The just-kindled Baguazhang flames had their fuel suddenly snatched away.

“What the heck, Bai Qiulan!”

“How dare you! I took you as a dear friend, and you treat me like this?”

“Don’t you know? Your secrets are already out! You have to tell me the truth; hiding this from me feels worse than killing me!”

“Bai Qiulan, come back!”

“I’ll sever all ties with you…”

Bai Qiulan returned.

“Oh, I forgot to take you with me.”

Sun Ruowei found herself whisked away into the clouds, while Bai Qiulan and Yue Hongling kept calm faces.

“What were you two hiding from me?” Sun Ruowei demanded eagerly.

Bai Qiulan and Yue Hongling exchanged blank looks.

“Nothing at all,” they both said.

“Then why did you dodge me just now?”

“Oh, we just forgot to take you along,” Bai Qiulan explained.

“You’re kidding! I’m a big person; you think you could forget? Are you trying to fool a fool?”

“Ah, how tall are you? I see you as slender, elegant, and pretty, not particularly big, right?”

Sun Ruowei was left utterly bewildered.

This was really robbing me of my chance to be angry!

“So, what are we doing now?” Sun Ruowei asked.

Yue Hongling seemed a bit distracted.

She was concerned about the poison she had given Lu Ye, named Primordial Morning Mist. Technically speaking, this wasn’t a poison in the usual sense but a special existence.

Once Primordial Morning Mist activated, it could amplify a person’s senses thousands of times over; a mere brush of pain could render someone unconscious.

The effects lasted for seven days.

This stuff wouldn’t kill, but it sure could lead someone into endless suffering.

A gust of wind felt like a blade scraping against the skin.

And a ray of sunlight felt as harsh as fire burning.

Yue Hongling intended to use this Primordial Morning Mist to make Lu Ye fail his tribulation.

But if it were to erupt now…

The intense pain might even cause Lu Ye’s soul to disperse.

Yue Hongling felt a bit of regret.

She shouldn’t have poisoned her Senior Brother like this, especially after learning the effort he had put into helping her cultivate and breakthrough.

She could only pray that time’s power would erase the Primordial Morning Mist.

The three of them arrived at the God Burial Ridge.

A figure sat cross-legged, a long sword resting on its knees.

It was Chu Ling.

“Greetings, Sister Yue, Sister Bai… Master, greetings, Senior Shibo.”

Chu Ling promptly adjusted her addresses, but “Sister Bai” was still caught by Sun Ruowei.

Not again with “Sister Bai”! And “Sister Yue” as well!

“Ling’er, where’s my Senior Brother?” Yue Hongling hurriedly asked.

“The Young Master has already entered God Burial Ridge. I am here to protect him,” Chu Ling replied.

“Was there anything unusual before he entered?”

Chu Ling recalled how Lu Ye had looked at her coldly just before entering God Burial Ridge.

“Hmm, nothing unusual.”

Yue Hongling sighed in relief.

“I’m a bit worried, Ling’er; we should go into God Burial Ridge to check,” she said.

“The Young Master is eternal and un…”

“Cough, Ling’er!”

Bai Qiulan interrupted Chu Ling.

What was this “eternal and un” all about?

Sun Ruowei shot Bai Qiulan a glare, thinking, you’re just the biggest stumbling block on my gossip journey.

Could it possibly be “eternal and unmatched”?

“Ling’er, I’ve done what you’ve done. Senior Brother must have gone to God Burial Ridge to retrieve God’s Blood Flower; he wants to break through to the Embryo-Breaking stage. Last time, the Heavenly Zombie Poison acted up when he was condensing his dan, so I fear something bad might happen again with this attempt,” Yue Hongling said urgently.

Hearing this, Chu Ling’s expression changed drastically.

“You poisoned him?”

Yue Hongling bitterly nodded.

“What’s the poison?”

“Primordial Morning Mist…”

Without another word, Chu Ling charged straight into the entrance of God Burial Ridge.

The four women all dashed in together.

Sun Ruowei’s ears perked up as she caught a few terms: Heavenly Zombie Poison, Primordial Morning Mist.

What kind of weird stuff were these?

Hold on, aren’t you two just small fry recently in the Yuan Dan stage? How do you know about these bizarre things?

The formations left behind had all been destroyed by Lu Ye; just to reiterate, even a completely intact formation would be a piece of cake for Lu Ye.

In front of them lay the corpses of numerous corpse toads.

Each one had been taken down with a single fatal blow.

Among them, quite a few were in the Embryo-Breaking realm.

This left Sun Ruowei shocked. Did Lu Ye do all of this?

Was Lu Ye not just in the Yuan Dan realm?

Why did these three women seem so unbothered, showing no signs of surprise?

Didn’t they think what Lu Ye was doing now was way beyond what someone in the Yuan Dan stage should be capable of?

Even the Embryo-Breaking realm shouldn’t have such power!

They navigated past heaps of corpse toad bodies.

Passing through toxic fog and mazes, the four finally encountered Lu Ye.
