Chapter 33: You Change Too!

Chapter 33: You Change Too!

Aierjisi found nothing else she liked aside from that floppy-eared bunny pajamas. However, Yake had picked out a few outfits that would suit her figure and wanted her to try them on. Aierjisi indulged her servant’s wish and wore those outfits for Yake to see. Unsurprisingly, he ended up buying all of them.

“I can’t help but feel like you look good in whatever style you wear.”

Yake was looking at Aierjisi, who was now donning a one-piece swimsuit. It might be because the little princess was naturally pretty; even the plainest clothes looked stunning on her.

“Of course! I pay a lot of attention to my appearance. After all, I have to appear in public quite often.”

As a little princess and part of the royal family, Aierjisi had to attend various gatherings, so looking her best in such public settings was a must.

“Then that’s it. Shopkeeper, will that gold coin from earlier cover these outfits?”

Yake glanced over the selection. He had already bought quite a lot today, so it should be enough.

“Absolutely! Customer, do you have anything else you wish to buy? How about a few pieces for yourself?”

The shopkeeper didn’t even need to look; one gold coin was enough to clear out all the clothes in his shop, especially since most of Yake’s picks were leftover items that couldn’t be sold. Selling them all to Yake was like hitting the jackpot for him.

“I don’t need any for myself. I’ll just wear them for a couple of days before they tear apart.”

As an adventurer, Yake had lived a life on the edge before; minor injuries every three days and major ones every five meant that new clothes would hardly last a week before becoming ragged. For him, it was better to spend money on potions and gear that improved his survival odds than on clothes that would soon end up in the trash.

“Alright, I’ll get these packaged for you right away.”

“Wait up.”

Just as the shopkeeper was about to pack Yake’s chosen outfits, Aierjisi asked him to hold off.

“What’s up, Aier? Did you find something else you like?”

Seeing Aierjisi call for a stop, Yake thought she must have found another outfit.

“These two. Please get them for me.”

Aierjisi walked over to the rack and pointed to two items. Since those were out of reach for her small stature, she had to ask the shopkeeper for help.

“Hey, aren’t those menswear? And they don’t seem to fit you at all. Did you pick the wrong ones?”

Noticing the two outfits Aierjisi selected, Yake pointed out her mistake. Clearly, these items were designed for men and didn’t suit Aierjisi’s little frame at all.

“Nope! These are picked for you. Look, don’t these outfits suit you perfectly?”

Aierjisi held one up to Yake, gesturing with it. They indeed seemed just right for him.

“I don’t need those. Clothes just end up torn after two days anyway; buying them would be a waste of money.”

Yake firmly rejected the little princess’s offer. Spending money on frivolities like that was not worth it, especially when he could buy potions instead.

“Listen up, wear them. As my servant, I won’t allow you to dress in such shabby clothes.”

“Um…”

Aierjisi’s words seemed to cast a spell, causing Yake’s body to stiffen. This was her exerting pressure through the servant contract; if she wanted to push further, she could control him outright.

Realizing that the little princess was determined to make him change into those clothes, Yake had no choice but to comply. Otherwise, Aierjisi would undoubtedly use the contract to impose her will on him.

Five minutes later…

“Wow, don’t you look much more impressive now! Yake, you don’t look bad at all; you should make an effort to dress well every day. It’ll surely attract a lot of admirers.”

Now dressed in one of Aierjisi’s chosen summer outfits, Yake looked significantly better than when he had been in his ragged old coat.

“I don’t need that kind of nonsense. Women only slow me down when I draw my sword.”

Yake replied sourly. He really had no knack for dealing with women; the 251 disastrous matchmaking attempts orchestrated by Reina were evidence of that. Even Xier often complained, “Bro, your emotional intelligence is seriously lacking! You should be feeding her with your own hands in that situation!” Over time, Yake came to realize he just wasn’t cut out for romance.

Moreover, in the dangerous world of adventurers, those capable of settling down were probably just one in ten at most. But even they had no shortages of suitors! Meanwhile, he was just a regular scrub. Although under the little princess’s rigorous special training, his skills had certainly seen considerable improvement.

“Is that so? Then consider it a favor for me to wear these clothes. After all, I chose them for you.”

Aierjisi was not swayed by Yake’s feelings. Since he had picked out so many outfits he thought suited her, she wanted to return the favor by forcing him to wear what she thought suited him.

“Geez.”

Yake felt powerless against the little princess. He only needed to wear these two outfits, while she needed at least twenty. All things considered, he was still coming out ahead!

“Shopkeeper, just these two, please. Pack them together.”

“Sure thing! Please take a seat; it’ll take me a while to pack everything.”

“That’s not necessary. Shopkeeper, you just pack up, and we’ll go browse somewhere else for a bit. Yake, let’s go.”

After saying goodbye to the shopkeeper, Aierjisi and Yake wandered off to another part of the store.

“Oh, Mommy, they’re finally out!”

Seeing the two emerge, Xier nudged Reina with her elbow for a reminder.

“Wow, they’re finally out! I’ve been waiting so long! And they both changed clothes! Is Yake finally experiencing his springtime?”

Reina exclaimed, excited to see the two in their new outfits. Was her thick-headed son finally seeing the light?

The two followed after them to the clothing store, where they hid behind nearby buildings, waiting for their return. However, because Aierjisi and Yake took way too long inside, Reina even began to wonder if they had noticed them stalking them and slipped out the back door.
