Chapter 30: Bikinis Don’t Suit You
“Well, there you have it. And even if I don’t plan to meddle in this, you’re such a good guy that you’ll want to, right?”
Aierjisi squinted her eyes. Judging by how he just acted towards that Thief Boss, Yake was definitely the good-guy type.
“Um… I do want to get involved in this. But after finding out it has to do with the Adrian People, I’m feeling kinda hesitant.”
Being a good guy, Yake naturally wanted to help out when a situation like this arose. But that didn’t mean he’d just recklessly jump into trouble he knew he could attract.
“What are you afraid of? Don’t forget, we successfully drove away one Adrian. If they dare to come back, we can just chase them off again!”
Maybe because they had successfully fended off Gilbaris last time, the Little Princess felt a bit cocky. After all, they were just a bunch of self-proclaimed Ultimate Life Forms. If she could scare them off once, she could definitely do it a second time.
“That’s true. The Adrian People aren’t really that frightening.”
【But you don’t even know how we scared them away last time, right?】
Yake silently completed the rest of his thought. The Little Princess had no clue what happened then, yet she had all this mysterious confidence. He wasn’t sure whether to believe her or not.
“Oh. It’s Yin! What is she doing over there?”
He saw Yin hurrying along with the group toward the doctor. The Little Princess pointed at her.
“She’s probably just going to check on the doctor. Since she’s from the City Lord’s Mansion, those two Guards are under her command. It’s normal for her to check on her subordinates’ injuries.”
Considering the two Guards’ identities and Yin being from the City Lord’s Mansion, Yake figured she was just going to see how her folks were doing.
“Yeah. Yake, should we follow her over there?”
The Little Princess thought for a bit. Since she had decided to get involved, it’d be better to talk to Yin, one of the people directly involved in the incident, for some clues.
“Let’s hold off for now. Yin is pretty busy right now. We should wait until tonight to check in at the City Lord’s Mansion. By then, she should be reporting this matter to the City Lord.”
Yake shook his head; now wasn’t the right time to ask Yin questions. It’d be best to wait until later when everything was settled and then ask.
“Okay. That works too! So, we should just hang out in the city for now. We’ve barely returned, and we can’t waste this time, right? What do you think, Yake?”
“True. It’s still a long way to night; let’s wander around the city some more. But we should stay alert. Those Adrian People might suddenly jump out at us.”
Remembering how Gilbaris had appeared without warning from a spatial gate and then escaped just as abruptly, he speculated that all those Adrian folks might have similar abilities.
“Good point. So, it’s on you to watch out for those Adrian People, my reliable servant.”
Aierjisi gave Yake a pat on the back. His ability to sense danger was much sharper than hers. If those Adrian People decided to come at them, he’d definitely be able to detect it.
“Don’t rely on me for everything! I can only sense danger; don’t expect me to handle combat. I’m probably not even strong enough to take one of their fingers!”
Yake could only force a smile. His current combat ability against the Adrian People was like a bean sprout—easily crushed with just a finger’s poke.
“I’m not asking you to fight them! Just let me know if you sense any danger, and I’ll handle the fighting.”
Aierjisi patted her flat chest. Last time she was out of sorts, but this time it was different; she had three-quarters of her magic power back, ready to guarantee that those Adrian People wouldn’t come back.
“Fine, I’ll leave the fighting to you. I’ll just watch you from a distance and admire your battle prowess.”
“Hey! No hiding at a distance! You must fight with me! Even if you can only serve as a distraction, there’s no way I’m letting you run away in the middle of it!”
“Okay, okay! I’ll fight alongside you. After all, if you get killed, I won’t survive either. So, that’s the only choice I have.”
“You say that like I’m threatening you to fight with me!”
“That’s just your interpretation; I didn’t intend that at all!”
As Yake and Aierjisi bickered, they wandered around the city, buying whatever caught their eye.
“Yake, how do I look in this outfit?”
Having changed clothes, the Little Princess twirled to show off her new swimwear for Yake’s opinion.
“Um… It looks nice, but why is it a bikini?”
Yake stared at the Little Princess wearing a bikini style swimsuit. The color was a rose red that matched her crimson pupils. It looked quite nice overall, though if he had to point something out…
“Of course! Don’t forget we’re on a journey! We might end up at a beach someday, and I’ll need a swimsuit, so I bought one in advance. What do you think? This bikini suits me well, right?”
“Um… If you’re just looking at the color and style, it does suit you, but…”
Yake hesitated, unable to finish his thought about the Little Princess’s upper half and the swimsuit not matching at all.
“What do you mean, but…?”
“Um… Maybe you should change to a top that fits better? Your bust is just too flat for this one to work!”
After hesitating, Yake finally spoke about how the Little Princess’s chest and the bikini just didn’t go together. That top was made for girls with curves, and the Little Princess’s flat chest couldn’t support it at all.
“Uh…”
The Little Princess also glanced at her chest. It was true; the swimsuit she was wearing wasn’t something she could fill out.
“Fine, I’ll look for a smaller size.”
Aierjisi could only helplessly search for a swimsuit that better matched her loli figure.
“Oh, and one more thing.”
“What is it?”
“Bikinis really don’t suit you.”
