Chapter 126

**Chapter 49: Is It a Problem for the Master to Pit His Own Servant?**

“Yake, do you think we’re staying here too long?”

Aierjisi lounged on the sofa, her hand relentlessly shoveling freshly fried potato chips into her mouth.

“What’s wrong? We haven’t been here that long—it’s only been about a week.”

“But I have this uneasy feeling that something bad has already happened. How about once we help the City Lord resolve this issue, we leave quickly? I’m afraid Ailin might end up in trouble before we even arrive.”

Right now, I was searching for allies to fight against the Adrian People. On the flip side, those Adrian People aren’t fools either; they definitely won’t just sit back and let me find others to fight them. They might strike while I’m still here, going after Ailin first.

“Yeah, you’ve got a point. Let’s finish up this job and get out of here. Still, it’s a bit of a shame. I’ve actually been enjoying life in this city, too bad I’m not a resident here.”

After spending time in the city with the Little Princess, Yake had come to like it. If he weren’t in such a rush, he might really consider settling down here.

“Oh? Really? You want to settle down here?”

“Of course! I’ve been living in that rat-hole of a small town forever! Finally coming to the big city, I’d love to stay here for good! What about you? Do you prefer living in a small town?”

Yake closed his book. Having lived in a small town all his life, he was full of dreams about city life.

“For me, that small town suits me pretty well. It’s perfect as a little vacation spot.”

“Pfft. You want to take a vacation in a small town? Are you serious?”

Hearing the Little Princess’s idea, Yake couldn’t help but laugh. Her thought of vacationing in such a backwater place was hilariously absurd.

“What’s wrong with loving a tranquil little town?”

“None at all! Looks like we’re total opposites! I love the bustling city, while you prefer the peace and quiet of a small town.”

“Because big cities bring too many troubles! I’m not a fan of hassle. In a peaceful small town, I can sip milk tea, snack on treats, and soak up the sun in the yard. That’s my ideal life!”

“Sounds like your happiness is pretty easy to achieve.”

Yake expected Aierjisi, a proud Blood Clan princess, to have some lofty, unfathomable aspirations. Who knew her ambitions were so laid-back?

“By the way, Yake, how long has it been since you exercised?”

Aierjisi suddenly switched the topic to Yake’s workouts.

“About half a month, why? What’s with the sudden question?”

Yake frowned. When the Little Princess asked him that, it definitely meant she had some new crazy idea brewing.

“Not much. Don’t you think not being active for too long can make your body a bit loose?”

“I don’t think so at all! In fact, I feel even better than before because I’ve had plenty of rest lately.”

“I see. But resting like this isn’t good for you. Come on, I’m taking you somewhere to exercise and check if you’re developing properly.”

“No! I don’t want to go, I just want to rest here.”

“Be obedient, come here!”

Without giving Yake a chance to refuse, Aierjisi pulled out her light whip and wrapped it around his neck, dragging him out.

“Don’t! I don’t want to go! If you want to go, you go by yourself!”

Yake shouted in vain, trying to fight off the Little Princess’s pull, but it was no use.

Half an hour later…

“Alright, we’re here. Now, Yake, sign here.”

Aierjisi brought Yake to a building resembling an ancient Roman Gladiatorial Arena. What Yake was about to do today was quite simple: participate in today’s gladiatorial competition and defeat all opponents to claim first place.

“Wait. Aier, making me do this is just torture, right? You know I’m a total weakling! Why not let you participate instead? With your skills, who could possibly pose a challenge for you?”

Yake looked at Aierjisi with teary eyes. This Little Princess really had too much free time, dragging him along to this.

“Hey now! That’s not right; if I participated, it would just be bullying children! Besides, I want to confirm how much you’ve grown these days. That’s why I brought you here!”

“But there are so many strong competitors! I might not even make it to the finals!”

Yake glanced at the competitors ahead; just from their aura, he felt he was no match for them.

“Come on, how can you say that? You’re my personal trainee! I have faith in your abilities! If you think you’ll lose before the fight even starts, you’ve already lost.”

Seeing Yake belittling himself before a fight even commenced annoyed the Little Princess tremendously.

He was her chosen servant, the one she had personally trained. If he thought he couldn’t measure up, it felt like putting her abilities down too!

“But…”

“No ‘buts’! Just sign up right here! Even if you don’t win, it doesn’t matter—just give it your all! As for your weaknesses during the fight, I’ll guide you after it’s over.”

Aierjisi sternly shoved the registration form into Yake’s hands. It seemed today she was determined to make him fight, no matter what.

“Fine! But don’t expect too much from me. I know my limits.”

Since escape was no longer an option, Yake could only comply and write his name on the registration form, confirming his participation in the gladiatorial competition.
