Chapter Thirty-Four: Learning Astrology
Izay had no idea when he lost consciousness, but when he woke up, the first thing he saw was the familiar ceiling of his room.
“This is so hard…”
After opening his eyes, he reached up to rub his somewhat groggy head and voiced his most genuine thoughts at that moment.
That ungrateful Loki, knowing full well how bad he was with alcohol, kept helping Aunt Misha force-feed him drinks, and even cheered on like it wasn’t enough trouble already.
Is this how a faction deity should act?
What nonsense…
After lamenting once more about Loki’s unreliability in his heart, Izay began to freshen up.
After enjoying breakfast outside at a shop, he didn’t have any plans to continue exploring the dungeon today.
The previous two explorations made Izay realize some of his own issues.
Regarding the lack of offensive means.
The most feared situation when entering the dungeon alone is undoubtedly being surrounded by a group of monsters without a way out.
Although with Izay’s abilities, he can naturally fight his way out of a group of monsters,
Without relying on “Silver Starfall,” achieving this would still require quite a fierce battle.
Using additional magic to enhance one’s state is rather exhausting in terms of physical strength and magical power.
Unless there’s an attribute suppression or a disadvantageous situation, Izay feels that using such skills to clear the area is somewhat overkill.
Because Izay could handle it better with his other two magics…
If only the “Stellar Magic” could be developed, then next time when encountering a large number of monsters, wouldn’t it be great to just cast a meteor shower spell?
With a single “plop”, wouldn’t it be wonderful to smash and kill a whole bunch?
At the very least, shouldn’t he figure out the “Celestial Stars”?
How about getting acquainted with “Celestial Movement of All Things”?
It can even control enemies with earth elements~
Clearing the area – divine skill!
Thus, in order to develop his other two magics, Izay chose to bury himself in Loki Familia’s library for the day.
Since he decided to develop “Stellar Magic” towards astrology, understanding astrology was naturally indispensable.
And as of now, Izay’s knowledge of astrology could be described as having nine out of ten holes understood—completely clueless.
So he came to Loki Familia’s library to find books that might help him learn.
Walking lightly down the headquarters’ corridor, Izay soon arrived at the family library where all members could freely browse.
As one of the top factions in Orario, the volume of books in Loki Familia’s library was enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed.
In this space filled with the scent of wood, tall bookshelves lined every wall, and in the center were neatly arranged large bookcases.
They contained various dungeon-related books, reference materials categorized by professions like magicians,
And many ancient books and stories collected on a whim by Loki or other members.
Everyone stored these books as communal property of the faction, sometimes even adding used magic tomes.
Following each row of catalogs, Izay searched for books that might suit his needs.
The books in the library were classified, so there was no need to worry about having to flip through every single one just to find a specific book.
Reaching the section where miscellaneous books were stored, Izay wandered between shelves, moving from left to right along the path.
A few minutes later, he finally stopped in front of a bookshelf.
“Revealing the Secrets of Astronomy,” “Ptolemy’s Astrological Notes,” “Sudin’s Astrology”…
On a row of shelves, Izay saw many books with slightly peculiar titles.
Actually, the original titles weren’t exactly like this; it was just that the general language translations below were written this way.
Izay took down all these books at once, carried them over to a nearby wooden table and chair, and prepared to study them carefully.
Before doing so, he paid special attention to the markings on this shelf and memorized them.
Otherwise, after reading them, if he couldn’t find the place to put them back, that would be embarrassing.
According to the annotations on the shelf, the books here seemed to be strange books collected by Loki from continental merchants passing through Orario.
Besides these astrology-related books, there were also many hero story collections circulating within the continent, but they were overlooked by Izay.
Should he call it good luck? Or praise Loki for her foresight?
The knowledge written in these astrology-related books was all authentic.
Not those things carelessly fabricated by disreputable individuals just to attract attention.
Even Ptolemy and Sudin appeared to be true experts in astrology. The two books they left behind, similar to their lifetime learning notes, benefited Izay greatly.
The pace of conquering the dungeon was temporarily slowed down by Izay, who was now fully immersed in the study of new knowledge and the development of new magic.
For the entire day, Izay did nothing but read books and deal with three meals.
But on the second day, he resumed exploring the dungeon.
Or rather, exercising himself.
There’s no way around it; although reading books can teach you knowledge, it doesn’t increase your ability values.
The five basic ability values of adventurers can only be improved through combat.
Whether fighting monsters or other adventurers, staying at home idly won’t increase your ability values even a little bit.
To level up to Lv2 faster, besides studying knowledge and developing magic, Izay must also spare time to explore the dungeon.
This dual approach of studying and exploration made Izay’s days particularly fulfilling recently.
Day after day, night followed by day, nearly half a month passed.
Once again, in the early morning, Izay looked at the pile of “drop items” stacked in the corner of his room, which had grown to be about the size of a small mountain, and fell into deep thought…
Metal Rabbit fur, Murder Ant limbs, Blue Butterfly wings (bottled), Purple Moth powder (bottled), a large number of Goblin Earth Spirit drop items, and some Half-Orc drop items mixed in.
In just over half a month, Izay had unknowingly accumulated such a quantity.
“I’ve got to sell these things… They’re taking up too much space…”
Supporting his chin with one hand, Izay directly sentenced the fate of the pile of drop items.
Moreover… such a large pile of drop items equals money!
Who would pass up an opportunity to earn money?
Well, Izay originally hadn’t planned to accumulate these things. Each time after coming out of the dungeon, he always thought, “I’ll sell the drop items tomorrow.”
Over and over again, until now…
