Chapter 83: Attempting to Ride the Ancestor (Third Release)
Izay felt that his day had gone terribly wrong.
For the first time, because of leveling up to Level 2, he wanted to “celebrate”; a celebration for reuniting with Goddess Artemis after a month’s separation; almost successfully executing certain plans……
If these three joys were enjoyed separately, Izay would have experienced a blissful time akin to a dream.
But, they all happened one after another in an overlapping mess…
Why?
Why did it turn out this way?
Izay propped his cheek with one hand, staring at the scene before him with dead fish eyes, watching what looked like a large offline gathering, his mood becoming increasingly complicated.
Artemis seemed to be having a showdown with Loki. The two goddesses quickly finished a can of Soma brand divine wine they had just bought and then proceeded to drink fruit wine from the bountiful mistress’ tavern cup after cup.
There was a determined air about them, as if they wouldn’t stop until they’d made the other pass out.
The reason seemed to be that Loki wanted to expose some secret of Artemis’, but Artemis naturally wasn’t going to let that happen, leading to the current situation.
Letsha and Lanti said they were sitting a bit further away from the group, but since they were still at the same table, how far could they really be?
After avoiding the potentially troublesome early part, they returned, chatting happily with Hiel and Ryu.
The elegant elven royalty sat between Hiel and Loki, like a fairy untouched by worldly affairs.
She paid no attention to Loki’s somewhat unrestrained actions beside her, only occasionally responding lightly to Hiel’s attempts at conversation.
Everyone enjoyed fine food and wine until late into the night.
What should have been a joyous banquet ended with Goddess Artemis passing out drunk……
Artemis, who rarely drank alcohol, though she could hold her liquor well enough, was obviously no match for Loki, a notorious alcoholic.
“Lord Artemis has passed out!”
“Amazing! This is the first time I’ve seen Lord Artemis like this……”
“I’m the same……”
“It is, after all, the strict Lord Artemis.”
At the same time, the girls of the Familial Group, noticing that Artemis had lost consciousness due to drinking, gathered around chattering excitedly.
However, it didn’t last long before Letsha calmed them down, carried her unconscious goddess on her back, bid farewell to Izay with a sense of novelty, and left.
Fortunately, they had booked a hotel beforehand, otherwise, it would have been difficult to find a place to stay for the night under such circumstances.
Incidentally, the high cost of this meal was fully covered by Izay.
In one go, close to thirty thousand Valis were squeezed out of Izay, causing Mama Mia and a certain catgirl’s faces to light up with joy when settling the bill.
After spending a little time saying goodbye to Ryu, Izay was the last to walk out of the tavern door.
On the street where the magical stones shone brightly in the night, Izay quickened his pace to catch up with Loki and Riviria who had walked ahead.
“Hum hum hum hum… Wanting to compete with me in drinking? You’re not ready yet~Artemis.”
Loki, with her cheeks flushed red like a crab, possibly due to her victory in the drinking contest against Artemis, currently seemed to be in quite a good mood.
Walking ahead alone, Izay and Riviria trailed behind her by a few steps.
“Izay, why did you follow Raul to the pleasure district?”
Riviria, possessing cold beauty traits, turned her gaze toward the student walking beside her.
She wasn’t the type to approach people in noisy environments, so she had held her questions until now.
“Uh… I didn’t step inside, does teacher not believe me?”
“No, I believe you, which is why I’m asking the reason.”
Shaking her head slightly, Riviria’s gaze remained calm.
As per the literal meaning, she believed that Izay hadn’t entered the pleasure district. What she had asked initially was “why.”
“You should know what the third and fourth districts surrounding the south street are, and you don’t seem like someone who would willingly enter such places. Is there something there that caught your attention?”
After all, she was Izay’s teacher and remembered clearly what she had taught him.
Sometimes, during moments of leisure, she would talk with Izay and Refia about the sights of Orario, her own experiences on the continent, etc.
Orario city was quite large, each of its eight neatly divided areas having their own distinct characteristics.
Places like the red-light district, Riviria distinctly remembered mentioning to both Izay and Refia that they shouldn’t go there under normal circumstances.
Under such conditions, Izay following Raul to the pleasure district made Riviria feel there must be a reason.
“… As expected, I can’t hide anything from teacher. There is indeed some reason.”
Pausing for a moment, Izay praised with a slight smile.
Indeed, from the start, his agreement to celebrate with Raul was purposeful.
“Can you tell me a little more?”
Her emerald green eyes fell upon Izay, not exactly a smile, but Riviria’s lips curved softly.
“Hmm, I’d rather keep it confidential for now. It’s nothing bad, I promise you that much, teacher.”
“I am completely uninterested in the flashy lights of the pleasure district. Even if I was interested, there are so many cute girls within our faction, why would I seek elsewhere?”
Izay solemnly gave his assurance.
Is Artemis not fragrant enough? Are Ais and Refia not beautiful enough?
Even riding the ancestor would work.
Why would he consider looking elsewhere?
Unless that fox was too seductive, strong in magic, and hit his X factor.
Even if Goddess Ishtar invited Izay to the pleasure district, he wouldn’t go.
Riviria blinked.
Was it an illusion?
For a moment, it felt like some malevolent presence descended upon her.
No, it wasn’t exactly malevolence, more like being watched by someone.
“Still seeking afar? Dare to eye my carbon Ais!? Izay! Die!!!”
At this point, Loki, who had been quietly eavesdropping while walking ahead, suddenly burst forth.
Turning around sharply, she pounced on Izay like a tiger.
“Huh? Loki, what are you doing!? I never said I was interested in Ais!”
“Would you believe that? I certainly don’t!”
“…”
Indeed, that statement was hard to believe even by dogs.
A chaotic squabble ensued…
A few minutes later, Riviria, standing nearby, found their roughhousing in the middle of the street unbearable and reluctantly stopped them.
Ignoring Loki’s continued resentful glances, the trio continued peacefully…
However, according to members of the Loki Familia, that night, in the upper level meeting room of the Central Tower, sounds of repentance that saddened those who heard it and moved those who listened could seemingly be heard.
