Chapter 82: Kids Shouldn’t Act Like Adults

Chapter 82: Kids Shouldn’t Act Like Adults

“Shopkeeper, did you misunderstand something? Yake didn’t do anything rude to me just now, so no need to call the police.”

Seeing the expression on the shopkeeper’s face, Aierjisi quickly realized that there must have been a misunderstanding.

“Huh? He didn’t do anything to you? You seemed pretty shy, though.”

The shopkeeper finally woke up from his delusions. If nothing had happened, then why did this little girl have such an expression?

“No, no. Yake just wanted to see how I looked in the dress. He definitely didn’t do anything inappropriate. Don’t worry, Shopkeeper. Yake, could you step outside for a moment? I need to put on my accessories first, then you’ll see the whole look.”

“Oh, alright. I’ll wait for you outside.”

Yake obediently left the fitting room, patiently waiting for the Little Princess to change.

“Okay, this distance should be just about right for my perfect image.”

After the shopkeeper helped her put on the red rose headpiece, Aierjisi looked at herself in the mirror. Her image was getting closer to what she envisioned. She could almost carry a sense of adult elegance.

“Good, I’ll go with this one. Yake, how do you think I look in this outfit?”

Aierjisi pulled back the fitting room curtain, inviting Yake to evaluate her current outfit.

“Um. I think it looks nice, it suits you well.”

“Why does that sound so lacking?”

Aierjisi frowned in dissatisfaction. Yake’s compliment felt way too half-hearted.

“Well, what can I say? I didn’t read much when I was young, so I can’t come up with fancy compliments.”

Yake shrugged his small shoulders. For someone like him, who wasn’t fond of studying, it was really hard to think of any non-cliché praise.

“Fine, I’ll be magnanimous and forgive your ignorance. Since you think this outfit looks good on me, I’ll stick with it. Shopkeeper, what do you think of this outfit?”

Aierjisi asked for the shopkeeper’s opinion. As a professional, he should be able to give some solid advice.

“Um… to be honest, I don’t think this outfit really suits you.”

The shopkeeper considered for a moment, then shared his honest thoughts. For a little girl like Aierjisi, clothes that give off an mature vibe simply weren’t fitting. Kids should wear what kids wear!

“Huh? This outfit doesn’t suit me?”

“That’s what I think; this outfit isn’t really a match for you.”

The shopkeeper reiterated his opinion.

“Then… what kind of outfit do you think would fit me better?”

Aierjisi asked the shopkeeper for further guidance. If he said that she didn’t match this outfit, then what kind of clothing would be appropriate in his eyes?

“Please wait a moment, I’ll fetch something that suits you.”

The shopkeeper turned and dashed to the back of the store. It wasn’t long before he brought out a white dress designed specifically for children.

“Um… Shopkeeper, are you sure this outfit will complement me?”

Seeing the dress made for little kids, Aierjisi’s expression darkened a bit.

“Absolutely. Don’t worry, this dress won’t be as bad as you’re imagining.”

The shopkeeper assured Aierjisi confidently that this white dress would definitely match her.

“Well, since you say so, I’ll try it on.”

After all, the shopkeeper was an expert in this field; he wouldn’t lead her astray. Aierjisi followed him back into the fitting room.

“As I expected! This dress suits you very well!”

The shopkeeper gave a thumbs up to the Little Princess in her newly recommended outfit.

“Mm. Indeed, this outfit looks much better than I imagined.”

Aierjisi examined herself in the mirror again. Compared to the earlier dress, she lost some of the adult elegance, but in exchange, she gained a certain cuteness only little girls possess.

“Yake, how do you think I look now? Is it way better than before?”

Aierjisi asked Yake once again for his opinion.

“Not just way better; it’s like a goddess descended! Just seeing you now makes me want to scoop you up and give you a good squeeze. You look absolutely stunning; how can anyone be this pretty?”

Unlike his earlier half-hearted remarks, Yake now had a flood of genuine praise at the sight of the Little Princess.

Now it was undeniable; Yake hadn’t taken her earlier dress seriously, which explained his previous nonchalant comments.

“Alright then. We’ll go with these two outfits. Thanks a lot, Shopkeeper, for helping us choose fitting dresses!”

“No problem! Recommending suitable clothes for my customers is part of my job. Have fun at the party tonight!”

“Yep. Thanks for your kind wishes, Shopkeeper. Yake, let’s go.”

“Oh.”

After saying goodbye to the shopkeeper, they left together, of course, changing back into their everyday clothes before exiting.

“Yake, is there anything else you need to buy in this city? If there is, we should hurry and get it since we’re planning to leave tomorrow.”

“Huh? So soon? Haven’t we already dealt with the Adrian People? Can’t we stay here a bit longer?”

“No way. While I was unconscious, that angel named Gabriel spoke with me. I learned some current situation from her. Things are rather dire now.”

“How so?”

Yake tilted his head. Both he and Aierjisi felt safe; why would the Little Princess say that the situation was serious?

“While we were resting in this city, the Ice Dragon from Panimir was captured by the Adrian People.”

“What? They’re acting way too fast! If that’s the case, they’re going to come after you next!”

Yake finally understood why the Little Princess was anxious to leave. With the Ice Dragon caught, she was certainly the next target, and she needed to escape quickly!

“That’s one of the reasons. The more important thing is that the Ice Dragon was just captured, which means there’s still a chance to rescue her. So we need to hurry and head to Panimir.”

“Oh.”
