Chapter 132: Embark on an “Adventure” (First Update of the Day! Subscription Plea Inside!)
“[Tree Dragon]…and it just had to be on the twenty-fourth floor…”
Outside the cavern, Riviria’s gaze caught sight of the massive figure beneath the great white tree, her eyebrows slightly furrowing.
Among the six floors from the nineteenth to the twenty-fourth in the Great Tree Maze, the Tree Dragon born on the twenty-fourth floor was undoubtedly the one with the highest potential Ability Values.
There was no escaping its Level 4 upper-tier strength.
Moreover, judging by its size alone, this Tree Dragon was larger than the few Riviria had encountered before due to sheer luck…
“Izay…before you challenge it, restore your condition with some Spiritual Medicine. You used so much Magic earlier; replenish your expended Mana before the battle.”
After observing the treasure guardian inside the cavern for a moment, Riviria turned around and quietly suggested.
“Huh? What did you say, teacher?”
Izay paused mid-action, looking up while chewing on a high-grade Mental Recovery Potion and rummaging through his bag for another one.
“…Never mind, nothing important. Get ready; our target is Level 4. Be cautious.”
“Alright, don’t worry. If I can’t win, I’ll scream for help!”
Perhaps choosing to fight an opponent two levels above was indeed a gamble, but that’s what “Adventuring” was all about.
If things go south during the fight, Izay would definitely retreat strategically.
At no time would he ever joke around with his life.
“Teacher, I’m going in.”
“Hmm.”
After swallowing the second bottle of high-grade Mental Recovery Potion, the Mana consumed in the previous battle was fully restored, and due to the lingering effects of the medicine, there was even an overflow!
In the upcoming battle, if Izay consumes Mana, the excess effect of the Spiritual Medicine will quickly replenish it!
The two entered the cavern together.
Izay continued forward, while Riviria stopped at the entrance of the cavern, not moving any further.
Her beautiful emerald eyes watched Izay’s back, concern rising in her heart as she silently blessed him.
As soon as the two stepped into the cavern, the owner sensed their presence immediately.
The half-closed golden eyes snapped open.
Though noble in color, they were undoubtedly the eyes of a Monster.
There was no trace of reason in those golden vertical pupils—only the ferocious gaze of a beast intent on tearing apart intruders.
The majestic green dragon’s eyes fell upon the two tiny invaders with disdainful scrutiny, then…
“—ROARRRRRRRRRR!!!”
It roared with overwhelming power.
A roar so powerful it formed sound waves, its reverberations echoing through countless areas, resonating deep within the Dungeon.
Gripping the silver-gray Spear tightly, the sharp tip dragged behind him, leaving a trail.
Izay took a deep breath, determination flashing in his azure pupils as his foot struck the bark-formed ground.
“Let’s settle this!”
Facing the monstrous dragon now fully prepared for battle, standing on all fours beneath the great white tree.
Alone, Izay charged into battle.
…
With a forceful step that cracked the ground beneath his left foot, creating fissures in the bark, Izay sprinted straight toward his enemy.
“Let the Curtain Fall (Orionids)!!”
At the exact moment he initiated his charge, Izay chanted the ultra-short incantation.
In an instant, moonlight and starlight flashed, and a deep blue Starflame erupted like the explosion of fire, enveloping both weapon and armor, surrounding his entire body.
A wave of heat suddenly spread out, using this as a catalyst, Izay increased his speed, the dual-stage burst completely trampling the ground beneath him.
“ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!”
The Tree Dragon let out a mighty roar.
Its golden vertical pupils locked onto Izay’s movements, not giving the small human who dared invade its territory a second thought, roaring as if declaring Izay’s doom.
A massive forelimb lifted high, accompanied by the Tree Dragon’s roar, the unusual green scales glowed, causing nearby plants to tilt towards the lord.
Under the surging magical energy, the plants began to grow wildly.
Grass originally as thick as fingers transformed into robust vines, detaching from the soil and wrapping around the Tree Dragon’s claws, becoming several-meter-sized weapons.
The dragon’s vertical pupils stared fiercely at the azure figure, raising its exposed claw high above its head to gather strength.
Swiping through the air, it swung down towards the tiny silhouette.
Squinting his eyes, after repeated enhancements, Izay’s vision had never been clearer.
Don’t be deceived or intimidated by its enormous size!
It’s just big, and we’ve faced bigger before!
See clearly! Dodge! Pierce it!!
The Tree Dragon’s size was undeniably a natural advantage, posing a significant threat to Adventurers.
If struck directly, it would surely result in death or severe injury. Even a mere graze could destroy half the body.
A single blow from its claw filled with immense brute force could easily knock down an enemy.
But, that was all.
Receiving a strike was merely a prerequisite; everything else was meaningless unless it hit.
Eyes shimmering with starlight and brilliance focused intently, from the angle the giant claw was raised to the position where the attack would land, Izay perceived everything perfectly.
Facing the descending claw rushing towards him, Izay adjusted his posture at the last possible moment before it reached his head.
His body leaned forward and shifted to the side, narrowly avoiding the Tree Dragon’s lethal strike by a hair’s breadth, simultaneously taking advantage of the exposed opening to penetrate deep into the Tree Dragon’s embrace.
Within the range of attack, the tiny figure disappeared from view, and the dust kicked up by the falling claw momentarily lost Izay’s position.
And Izay, who had breached the Tree Dragon’s defenses, saw the monster’s chest right in front of him, driving his spear into the completely unguarded, vulnerable area of the Tree Dragon’s chest cavity with all his might.
Instantly, the tough, thick yellow scales sparked against the spear tipped with Starflame, but the contact didn’t last long.
“Silver Starfall (Orionids)!!!”
Izay roared.
In an instant, fierce, scorching Starflame bloomed, the spear piercing through the dry yellow scales, drawing blood, as the deep blue light exploded beneath the Tree Dragon, shaking the air with a tremendous boom.
A lengthy streak of deep blue flames shot out from the Tree Dragon’s back, burning the surrounding vegetation, sending circular shockwaves rippling outward, even causing the Sacred White Tree to sway precariously in the impact storm.
“ROARRRRRRRRRR———!”
Severe pain rendered the Tree Dragon’s thoughts blank, unable to grasp the situation, emitting cries of agony.
Having driven his spear into the Tree Dragon’s body, Izay didn’t relax after landing the first successful hit but gathered more strength, attempting to tear through the Tree Dragon’s chest cavity with the spear tip.
“HAHHHHHHHHH!”
The ground shattered underfoot as Izay applied additional force, causing the Tree Dragon’s scales to begin cracking.
The next second, a sound akin to tearing fabric rang out, the dragon’s skin splitting open.
A wound over a meter long, too deep to ignore, continuously bled from the chest cavity, extending diagonally downward to the left. Following the path of the wound was a deep blue figure.
Propelled by the powerful inertia, Izay passed over the Tree Dragon’s body, retreating to the side.
