Chapter 184: Her Legs Are Full of Brains
As soon as they got home, the girls completely let loose.
Releasing long-awaited screams within the mansion before dashing straight into their rooms with a “bang” and disappearing without a trace.
It wasn’t just one; it was a whole group acting this way.
With sounds of clattering echoing, they seemed to start visiting each other, discussing the plans for tonight.
The fire burning in the fireplace dyed the hall orange, warming up the indoor space.
The crackling sound of sparks bursting continuously filled the air.
Intersecting with the commotion from upstairs, it brought some liveliness into the mansion.
Fireplaces are quite common indoor facilities in Orbu Town.
After all, the Orbu Mountain Range is a towering snow mountain range, geographically leaning towards the north. This small town at the foot of the mountain has a climate that’s significantly colder than other places.
In the first-floor hall, Izay and Artemis, who were left behind, noticed the commotion upstairs and exchanged glances, seeing a hint of helplessness in each other’s eyes.
“Artemis-sama…”
“Hmm? What is it?” The goddess responded to Izay’s call with a faint smile on her face.
“Would you like to go stroll around the Divine Moon Festival tonight? It’s a rare opportunity since it only happens once a year.”
An annual festival, especially one with special significance like the Divine Moon Festival, naturally Izay wanted to spend it with Artemis.
“Just the two of us,” he added at the end.
Just the two of them… together?
Artemis’ breath inexplicably paused for a moment, her previously tranquil heart now suddenly pounding away.
Isn’t that a date if it’s just the two of them?
Previous festivals were always spent bustling about with Letsha and the others. If she ignored them this time and went on a date with Izay, how much gossip would those girls stir up?
Just imagining that scene made Artemis’ cheeks turn slightly red.
However, in the next moment, her delicate fingers curled together, unable to resist the joy bubbling up inside her.
She had bought a beautiful new dress earlier that she hadn’t worn yet—tonight was the perfect time to put it to use!
Artemis pressed her lips together, nodding gently with a soft voice: “Sure.”
“Then I’ll go freshen up first? Artemis-sama, see you later?” Izay pointed to an empty guest room on the first floor of the mansion and smiled at the goddess.
“Hmm, see you later.”
…
…
…
The timing was evening.
The Divine Moon Festival differs from other lower-realm customary festivals; the most lively part of the Divine Moon Festival begins when night falls.
The brightly lit shopping streets are festooned with lanterns everywhere, mobile stalls set up on-site, or aunties and grandmothers selling handmade souvenirs.
Around a small square in the town, there are orange lights from magic stones everywhere, wafting food aromas, and couples strolling around.
Izay arrived here beforehand to wait, but unexpectedly found himself force-fed a mouthful of dog food.
This isn’t Orario, so adventurers are very few. The main participants in the festival are mostly young couples from the town.
As for the elders, they’re all gathered with their partners running stalls.
In short—dog food everywhere.
“Underestimated it. If I knew this, I should have left later.”
Izay gazed at the bright moon hanging high in the sky, shifting his attention.
Even before it started, he already looked forward to tonight.
Because this is the Divine Moon Festival after all.
Night, festival, a holiday to pray to the moon.
Combined with various factors, it held an indescribable allure for Izay.
About ten minutes later, Artemis arrived at the square, her elegant figure catching Izay’s eye.
At just the first glance, he was stunned by her beauty.
Tonight, Artemis didn’t braid her hair; smooth water-blue strands cascaded down to her waist like a waterfall, her bangs swept to the side and held in place with a silver hair clip. The thin strands swayed slightly as she moved, looking incredibly adorable.
She wore a white velvet long dress purchased earlier in Orario, adorned with ruffled edges that barely covered the nape of her neck. Upon getting closer, Izay could faintly see the porcelain and delicate collarbone.
The visual sensation of something seen and unseen alternated, drawing the eye repeatedly.
The skirt extended past her knees, with ruffled edges at the bottom, her slender, jade-like legs wrapped in white stockings, outlining a perfect line that stirred the heart.
“Snap out of it~ Where are you looking?”
Walking up to Izay, Artemis saw him still staring at her legs and couldn’t help but poke his head with her finger, feeling shy yet also satisfied and delighted.
It wasn’t wasted effort; she carefully dressed herself, even hesitating over what to wear in her room, almost wanting to pull Letsha over for advice.
Of course, she resisted in the end and chose the outfit she liked best on her own.
“I’m looking at someone I like.” Izay sincerely spoke, his tone extremely serious.
Artemis’ cheeks immediately flushed red, her earlobes heating up too, but then she quickly realized he was trying to deflect her question and shot him a glare:
“I didn’t ask that! You’re trying to distract me!”
“Ahh… I’m not doing that. Artemis-sama looks really beautiful tonight.”
“Hmph, your compliments can’t cover the fact that you’ve been staring at my legs!”
“……”
This… it’s not entirely his fault.
Izay wanted to cry.
Earlier, his brain was full of thoughts about her legs, and his eyes suddenly developed their own ideas. Faced with the only part of her body exposed below the dress—those slender legs encased in white stockings—it was simply beyond his control!
Perhaps it should be said that Artemis’ allure was just too great. A goddess is truly a goddess; just looking at her evoked an impulse to reach out and touch.
Though his DNA developed evenly without any particular standout traits, he still had those thoughts.
This must be what attraction feels like. (Shrugs while sighing.jpg)
After the little prelude of their meeting, both harboring their own joys, they entered the shopping street, becoming one of the many couples among the crowd.
“Artemis-sama, would you like to try releasing a lantern?”
Buying some familiar snacks and some with unpronounceable names, Izay held Artemis’ hand and stopped in front of a shop.
The shop was operated by an old woman and a young girl, seemingly grandmother and granddaughter. The old woman and the girl stayed inside, skillfully weaving exquisite small lanterns one after another.
Whenever customers approached, the girl would step out, smiling and conversing before handing out one exquisite lantern after another.
In the channels beside the town streets, where clear streams flowed, many people were already squatting halfway to light and release the lanterns. Bright dots of light floated along, following the flow through the town.
Artemis curiously glanced over there and noticed Izay seemed eager to try?
So she wanted to understand why.
Upon casting her gaze, the first thing the goddess saw wasn’t the exquisite lanterns but the sign placed in front of the shop, which read “Buy one get one free for lovers.”
??
What are you planning, Izay?
Could you be trying to take advantage of that small discount?
Artemis slightly parted her cherry-colored lips, looking at Izay with a strange expression.
From her eyes, Artemis saw his intentions.
He really was trying to take advantage of that small discount…
