Chapter 277: Handsome Guys Are Usually Not Good People! (Please Subscribe!)

Eina internally understood her own fault in the matter.

Talking bad about her direct superior during work hours, and getting caught red-handed—what a coincidence.

If Izay also worked for the Guild, Eina might have to think about what to take with her when she got fired later.

But Izay didn’t work for the Guild. Instead, because of Lady Riviria’s connection, he was a good friend of hers, so Eina wasn’t worried that he’d expose her.

Still, his teasing left her a bit miffed.

After bantering about this for a while, they finally transitioned into friendly chat mode.

“Eina, are you on duty here? All day?” Izay handed her half of the uneaten kinpeitou candy, tossing the bag over as well, shoving the rest into his mouth.

“Ah, thank you… Standing guard all day isn’t really like that… I’m only responsible for the morning shift; someone will take over in the afternoon.” Eina hesitated for a moment before accepting the bag.

Since she was also involved in the festival preparations, it was unavoidable for the Guild staff to help tidy up the environment and guide the audience.

Every year at this time, most of the working staff would temporarily set aside their current business and come to work part-time.

Though the pay was always generous, dealing with constant inquiries from the public and standing guard for long periods wasn’t an easy job.

Chatting with Izay during work hours, as she was doing now, was just a way to make the best of a tough situation.

After all, if she glanced behind her, many other employees were chatting with colleagues to pass the time, including her beastman superior.

“The morning is actually the hardest time,” Izay said after pulling out a water bottle from his side pouch and taking a swig.

“Huh… It doesn’t seem too bad to me, just the standing part gets tiring.” Eina replied with a strange expression, looking at Izay’s side pouch.

How could he pull out such a big water bottle from such a small pouch?

Could that pouch be a magical artifact!?

If Izay knew what she was thinking, he would probably say, “No, you’re overthinking it, it’s just simple magic application.”

Running into an acquaintance at the arena entrance, Izay decided not to enter and watch the animal training show.

Passing the time one way or another, it was better to stay here and chat with Eina.

Perhaps Eina had the same idea as Izay, two people wanting to kill time gathered together, occasionally exchanging opinions about the festival.

This continued for a while…

“I don’t see anyone… This is the location of the Monster Festival, right?”

“Maybe they’ve already entered the arena?”

Such voices echoed.

The voice came from a white-haired, red-eyed girl who looked around the outer area of the arena, seemingly searching for someone. By her side was likely her Familial Group’s deity, a black-haired twin-tailed little goddess.

Of course, the scale of her presence was hardly commensurate with her petite figure.

“Why not ask that Guild employee lady over there? Maybe we’ll find something useful?”

After observing the surroundings without success, the little goddess targeted the Half-Elf slacking off nearby.

“Alright, let me try…”

Hearing the suggestion from her deity, the white-haired girl was about to agree but froze upon recognizing the face of the Guild employee.

“E-Eina-san!?”

“—?”

Who called me?

Eina blinked, breaking out of her chat state, and saw a rabbit (foggy vision).

“Beier?”

Beier Cranel, was the rookie adventurer she had started mentoring not long ago, a very promising young girl.

For some reason, her progress exploring the dungeon seemed unprecedentedly fast, reaching the fifth floor within half a month with ease.

While it couldn’t compare, this bizarre growth rate reminded Eina of only one precedent…the person beside her now.

However, unlike that bold growth speed, Beier was typically a shy, neighborly little sister type, giving Eina the illusion of nurturing her.

It was just an illusion!

“Ooh—? Is that Beier?” Izay turned toward the speaker at roughly the same time as Eina, curiously calling out her name.

Seeing him, Beier instinctively ducked her head, “Mr. Izay…you’re here too…”

“Are you implying it’s strange for me to be here?”

“No, not at all! It’s just… surprising.”

Izay’s teasing went unnoticed by Beier, who waved her arms frantically to explain.

“Hold on, do you two know each other!?”

“Who is this Half-Elf lady? Beier, and who’s that blonde adventurer over there?”

The first question was from Eina, the latter from Goddess Hestia.

Hestia, however, seemed wary of Izay, her expression marked with “Caution.”

In Hestia’s mind, this was justified.

After all, her adorable Beier was so cute, those seductive types outside might take notice of her!

And this blondie was far too handsome, clearly not a good person!

(Izay: Thanks for the compliment~)

“Kind of acquaintances. We met once before coming to Orario, then lost touch. The last meeting was a few days ago, both inside the Dungeon and at ‘The Bountiful Mistress’ Tavern.”

“That’s right, Lady Hestia. Also, I owe Mr. Izay thanks. You and your companion saved me in the Dungeon last time, and I haven’t thanked you since. I’m truly sorry.”

Izay and Beier explained one after another, with the latter’s latter half directed at Izay. The young girl had been looking for an opportunity to express her gratitude.

To which Izay waved his hand, “It’s no big deal, any professional would have done the same. That was our mistake.”

After understanding the cause, Eina and Hestia nodded in realization. The latter also retracted her slight animosity toward Izay and followed Beier in thanking him.

After all, he was a benefactor of her child.

Yet her vigilance remained. Like a mother hen guarding against wild boars—afraid her innocent cabbage would get trampled.

Noticing her caution, Izay felt somewhat amused.

Later, Eina introduced herself as Beier’s Adventurer Advisor, causing Goddess Hestia immense gratitude.
