Later, Izay and Refia approached the Guild window to file their application. After going through the necessary procedures to avoid duplicate quests, they officially accepted the mission.
These missions that the two had taken on were not like the open-ended ones issued during emergencies; these were unique in nature.
It was a case of first come, first served. Once someone took a mission, others could no longer claim the same one.
Missions such as Izay’s past endeavors—like slaying the winged dragon or investigating the abnormalities in the Great Tree Sea—were open-ended, where anyone could participate. These were entirely different from those exclusive missions.
They quickly finished the paperwork, thanked the human girl who handled it, and then Izay and Refia headed towards the agreed meeting spot: the Babel Tower.
“Ah! Izay and Refia have arrived!”
“Are we the last ones? Sorry for keeping everyone waiting.”
“It’s all Izay’s fault! Who told you to stand there staring at the bulletin board after accepting the quest?”
At a broad-leafed tree with a low altar near the vast Central Square, Ais and the others were already waiting. Finn and Riviria were also present, wielding spears and staves with smiles.
Tiona kicked aside a fallen leaf and enthusiastically waved at Izay.
Although everyone’s weapons had been melted before,
it had been long enough since the last expedition for them to be reforged. Of course, this came at a cost of heavy debt.
This team exploration was partly driven by that very factor.
“Is everyone ready? Shall we go?”
“Hmm… shouldn’t we eat first? It’s noon now~”
“We’ve prepared food. Tione packed us lunch, so we can eat while we walk.”
In response to Izay’s existential question, Finn calmly explained. Tione then lifted up two large bags filled with everyone’s lunch, easy-to-carry food items.
Incidentally, she also carried a large backpack stocked with provisions for the coming days.
Finn’s meticulous planning left Izay speechless, and he shrugged: “Alright, let’s eat on the way.”
The rest of the group nodded in agreement, showing no objections.
As for whether doing this inside the Dungeon would be dangerous?
Let’s just say they were overthinking it.
With their strength, exploring the Upper Layers felt like walking through their own backyard.
When the clock struck noon across Orario, the group of seven set off from the Babel Tower as planned.
The team adopted a typical 2-2-3 formation.
Ais and Tiona led the front, Finn and Tione walked in the middle, while Izay, Riviria, and Refia brought up the rear.
Upon entering the Dungeon, Goblins and Earth Spirits immediately sprang out, but they disappeared just as fast.
Even describing them as fleeting winds wouldn’t capture how quickly they vanished.
Tiona and Ais, leading the charge, cut down every enemy they encountered. Monsters fell under their blades effortlessly, and despite the numbers, they couldn’t hinder the duo’s progress. They even had time to nibble on rice balls.
Before finishing their lunch, the group had already passed the Upper Layers and reached the Middle Layer, specifically the 17th floor.
Picking up Magic Stones along the way was solely Izay’s responsibility.
Skilled in finding bizarre uses for magic, he casually waved his arm while munching on food.
A flash of azure light swept through, and the Magic Stones scattered on the ground flew directly toward him.
Refaia, standing nearby, skillfully opened her bag, allowing the stones to fall in as per Izay’s wishes. Items dropped were handed over to Tione for safekeeping, following the same process.
Eating, traveling, battling monsters, and collecting loot—all accomplished simultaneously.
Ssssshhhhh!
A completely unconventional “I want it all!” approach?
Witnessing this spectacle, surrounding adventurers reacted as if they’d seen ghosts. But upon recognizing the members of Loki Familia, their expressions quickly shifted from shock to awe, and they hastily dispersed.
Regardless of why Loki Familia appeared in the Middle and Upper Layers, no fool would dare provoke them. Avoidance was the best policy.
“Izay, how is your mana holding up with you using magic so continuously?”
Riviria glanced at Izay casually casting spells to summon rock pillars to kill a Saber-Toothed Tiger, followed by gathering Magic Stones with magic. She couldn’t help but worry about his mana reserves.
After all, his magic hadn’t stopped since they began.
“Relax, teacher. I’ve got plenty of mana! And these are just minimal applications of magic, consuming very little. Considering regeneration, there’s practically no depletion~”
Izay smiled and replied.
With both Skills and Development Ability aiding in recovery, things were incredibly efficient.
“In that case, my concern was unwarranted.”
Riviria paused, then teased herself aloud.
“You’re truly something else, Izay.”
Hearing this from the front, Tiona couldn’t resist turning back with an odd expression.
“Cutting down weak enemies doesn’t require much effort, does it? You don’t seem tired either, Tiona.”
Brother Number One shouldn’t criticize Brother Number Two, right? Mutual mutual.
Tiona tilted her head, thinking about it. Come to think of it, that made sense.
“By the way, we haven’t seen the Floor Boss yet. Was it defeated by someone else?”
“Hmm. Apparently, the adventurers from Rivira Town wiped it out. They said it would obstruct traffic.”
“That’s unfortunate. The Floor Boss’s Magic Stones were quite valuable. I thought we might get our hands on them…”
Arriving at the expansive space deep within the 17th floor, Tiona and Finn exchanged words.
There was no sign of the “Labyrinth Lone King,” which usually blocked adventurers’ paths. Instead, various beasts like Minotaurs roamed freely in the vast area.
Listening to this, Izay couldn’t help but smile faintly.
Truly deserving of being the least respected Floor Boss, getting farmed for experience each time without even defending its territory.
The monsters here must have wandered over from other Caverns through numerous tunnels.
Naturally, with the Floor Boss gone, the region became their playground, allowing free movement.
Soon enough, these monsters would wander off elsewhere.
But they didn’t get the chance.
Because they had caught the eye of fierce adventurers.
Facing the monsters, Ais charged forward first.
To repay her borrowed sword, she was full of fighting spirit.
A debt of forty million wasn’t something easily cleared in a day or two. Even at the earning speed of a Level One adventurer, it would take a month or two.
That was assuming they stuck to the deeper levels, where finding Labyrinth treasures could significantly reduce the time.
Exploring the Middle Layers wouldn’t yield such efficiency.
Thus, aiming for deeper areas of the Dungeon, the money-driven young girl silently cheered herself on and rushed ahead of the group.
