Chapter 467: Apollo Familia’s Invitation (Please Subscribe!)
At the gates of Twilight Manor.
In a rare occurrence, two female Adventurers stood at the usually quiet and expansive entrance.
This was quite an unusual sight.
Because all of Orario knew that Twilight Manor was Loki Familia’s main base. Few dared to casually visit this mansion of spires without good reason.
Of course, under special circumstances, exceptions could be made.
“Excuse us for intruding. This is an invitation to a banquet prepared by our Deity. Please accept it.”
Among the two female Adventurers, the short-haired girl who looked more efficient stepped forward and handed an envelope to the guard.
The high-quality paper had its edges sealed with wax, bearing the emblem of the sender. The design featured a Bow and Arrow with a Sun, the symbol of Apollo Familia.
“An invitation to the Deities’ Banquet? Understood. Please leave it here.”
Today, the team member on duty at the gate was a friend of Izay.
Simon, the one who initially introduced him to Loki Familia, now nodded seriously toward the two girls at the door and then took out a mailbox from the nearby guardhouse.
This mailbox was typically used to store letters sent to Loki Familia by outsiders, such as invitations to the Deities’ Banquet or correspondence from the Guild.
Loki would review these items daily since they were directed at her, including invitations to the Deities’ Banquets and messages from the Guild.
However, whether to attend those invitations entirely depended on Loki’s mood.
Often, Loki didn’t like attending public events.
After all, such occasions required dressing up… and considering Loki’s personal conditions… (shrugs helplessly)
After placing the invitation into the mailbox Simon provided, the short-haired girl confirmed the message had been delivered and politely bid farewell to Twilight Manor.
As the organizers of the Deities’ Banquet, Apollo Familia had many things to arrange.
Just in the North District alone, there were several Deity Familial Groups that needed invitations delivered, and Loki Familia was just one of the higher-priority ones. After delivering the invitations, the two girls still had to follow their superior deity’s request — find some rabbits.
It must be said, this errand was truly exhausting…
Izay happened to arrive at the gate following Haruhi’s words just in time to see the two leaving.
Noticing Simon taking the mailbox back into the guardhouse, he curiously approached.
“Simon, what were those two here for?”
“It’s you, Izay… Oh, nothing much. They came to deliver an invitation, from Apollo Familia for the Deities’ Banquet. Those girls mentioned that Apollo seems to have some special rules this time, different from previous banquets. They hope our superior deity will attend.”
To Izay’s inquiry, Simon shrugged helplessly, repeating what he had heard earlier.
It was clear his interest wasn’t high, understandable.
Because events like the Deities’ Banquet had nothing to do with the Familial Groups; only the Deities could attend. Instead, it was all about formalities.
As a member of a large Familial Group, handling formalities with those delivering invitations was unavoidable work. Every time this happened, responding formally could be quite tiring.
“Apollo Familia’s… Those two must be Daphne of the ‘Laurel Runaway’ and Cassandra of the ‘Pessimist,’ right? Two of Apollo’s trademarks.”
Speaking of which, Izay realized why those Adventurers seemed familiar.
Apollo Familia had only one Level 3 member, someone who devoted both body and soul to their deity, a homosexual.
Among the multiple Level 2 members, Daphne and Cassandra, who had just left, were the most promising.
Especially the latter’s Skill, ‘Ode to the Tragic World’s Princess.’
One of the three great cheats of Orario, the ability to predict the future through dreams. The form was poems accompanied by vague images, and the content of the dream was absolutely accurate. There were also indications within the dream of how to avoid tragic outcomes. However, the content was often abstract and difficult to interpret.
And due to its “curse/magic” influence, no one could believe the premonitions, not even the Deities.
Currently, only the Development Ability ‘Luck’ can immunize against this curse.
These two were originally from other Deities but were forcibly taken by Apollo, more akin to “collectibles.”
Apollo wasn’t interested in their bodies but valued certain exceptional qualities they possessed, insisting on having them join his Familia, by any means necessary.
As a celestial deity pursuing pleasure, Apollo had taken the concept of capriciousness to the extreme.
Every child he deemed talented, he wanted to claim as his own, incorporating them under his banner.
Izay remembered that during the early days after he achieved his level-up, Loki had privately told him that Apollo seemed interested in him.
Unfortunately, under the threat of seven top-tier Adventurers at the time, Apollo backed down, not yet insane enough to come looking for trouble.
Now at Level 6, the latter dared not harbor any thoughts about him anymore.
“Apollo’s banquet invitation… looks like Hestia Familia is going to have some trouble~ I hope Beier stays safe~”
Realizing what was about to happen, Izay couldn’t help but feel a bit schadenfreude.
Regarding the matter of the war game, he had no intention of helping or interfering, after all, watching from the sidelines never hurt.
As long as the fire didn’t spread to himself, there was no rush.
He was a seasoned bystander.
After learning this “good news,” Izay didn’t leave immediately but instead engaged in a rare casual chat with Simon at the gate.
After all, it was this person who initially brought him into Loki Familia.
As the first companions to meet, their relationship was quite close.
Discussing some interesting recent events in Orario, the two sat at the entrance of Twilight Manor, “commenting on the world.”
Until someone came out from the Mansion, interrupting the situation.
“Izay…”
While chatting animatedly with Simon, Izay suddenly felt a small hand tap his shoulder from behind.
Pausing momentarily, Izay turned around to see the blonde girl standing quietly behind him.
“Ais?”
“Ais Miss!”
Unlike Izay’s casual response, Simon greeted the girl somewhat awkwardly.
Unlike Izay’s laid-back demeanor, Ais wasn’t very adept at socializing, maintaining a naturally aloof persona.
This caused Simon and other lower-ranked members to feel uneasy around her.
In reality, Ais felt similarly.
She too felt awkward due to their respectful attitude.
Irrelevant to being part of the same Familia, simply because of infrequent interactions, she couldn’t relax around them as she did with Tiona and Refia?
