Chapter 477: Loki: Do You Understand My Agony!? (Please Subscribe!)
In response to the main deity’s antics, Izay ultimately agreed to accompany Loki to the divine banquet.
It was just another addition to his schedule, not really affecting his day in any significant way.
Helping Tione, Tione, and Refia with their special training, and taking a break with Haruhi, the day quickly passed by.
As Orario’s night fell, Izay awkwardly changed into the exclusive attire meant for banquets.
The outfit was formal wear suited for such occasions—a black and gold tailored ensemble, white undershirt, and a faction emblem tie custom-made by Loki for her members.
Designed after considering Izay’s color suggestions, it was an expensive piece, truly worth its price.
But compared to the light and agile adventurer outfits, putting on this attire was overly complicated, with many intricate details.
After all, tonight they were attending a feast of the gods, an extremely high-class event where attention to detail could not be overlooked.
As the deities would say: They sought this elaborate sense of ceremony!
In the end, Riviria helped Izay with his dressing arrangements.
There was no other way; it was Izay’s first time attending such a banquet, so he lacked experience.
He had to consult his mentor, and later couldn’t avoid Loki teasing him a few times.
Once all the preparatory work was done, Izay boarded the carriage to the divine banquet with Loki, leaving Twilight Manor under the watchful eyes of his companions.
By the way, Raul was once again the carriage driver this time.
Having someone of Level 4, an elite member of the faction, drive the carriage—probably only Loki could pull off something like that. Others wouldn’t dare even if they wanted to.
With Raul quietly sighing in “protest,” and the clatter of the carriage wheels, the sunset-colored street scenery outside kept changing.
Inside the carriage, the carefully decorated space wasn’t relaxed but instead carried an eerie atmosphere.
Loki rested her chin on one hand, looking out the window, her crimson divine eyes shimmering with an indescribable light.
“Hey… Izay… can I ask you something? You have to answer honestly.”
“Hmm, go ahead.”
Izay’s state was similar to Loki’s, also gazing out the opposite carriage window.
Only the two parties involved understood that this was merely the calm before the storm.
“…Have you made a move on my Ais carbon copy~?”
The deity lowered her voice, dragging out her tone. As she voiced the result she least wanted, her tone gradually turned dangerous.
Even Loki didn’t want to think about it willingly.
Ais said she needed a rest day, but she couldn’t stay cooped up in her room all day. She had to come out at some point.
Through careful observation throughout the day, Loki unwillingly acknowledged the most brutal outcome.
Unlike Riviria, Loki, though lacking practical experience, had extensive theoretical knowledge. After descending from the heavens, she developed a hobby of buying good books, and over the years, she could recognize the changes from girlhood to womanhood.
Taking advantage of the moment when they were alone, Loki wanted to clarify matters with Izay.
(What bad timing… why bring this up now?)
Sighing inwardly, Izay felt that Loki was about to lose control.
His “intuition” faintly signaled impending danger.
But with the mindset that dying early or late is still dying, Izay decided to be brave.
A true warrior dares to face the bleakness of life!
So he nodded: “Yes, there has been progress in my relationship with Ais!”
Upon hearing this, Loki’s face darkened: “How far have you progressed!?”
“We’ve done what needs to be done!” Izay boldly responded.
Unable to suppress the twitching at the corner of her mouth, Loki gritted her teeth: “…And what shouldn’t have been done!?”
“It’s been done!”
—!!!
In an instant, Loki suddenly reached out, ripped open the front window of the carriage, and grabbed Raul who was driving attentively.
“A♂! What’s going on!?” came Raul’s cry from the front.
At this point, Izay hadn’t yet figured out Loki’s intention toward Raul, momentarily confused.
But the next second, seeing Loki reaching for the dagger at Raul’s waist, Izay instantly understood.
“A♂! Lord, what are you planning to do!? I haven’t offended you in any way!” cried Raul as Loki violently seized the knife.
Then Izay saw Loki holding the dagger in both hands with great precision, veins popping out on her delicate arms as she lunged at him!
At the same time, Izay’s alarm bells went off, turning his previous confusion into sheer terror (fog), predicting Loki’s stab angle aimed directly at his kidneys, nearly scaring him witless.
“Ga——!!!!”
A piercing scream followed, and a knife hole appeared on the intricately carved door of the carriage.
“The goddess is attempting to kill her follower!!!”
Dodging the attack at lightning speed, Izay consoled his racing heart.
“…You actually dared to make a move on Ais carbon!? She just came of age! You bastard!!”
Loki turned around like a death god rising from the underworld, her eyes losing their luster and turning pure crimson, muttering repeatedly “you dared, you dared.”
“Wait! Calm down, Loki! In every sense, Ais and I love each other! As the main deity, I believe you should give us your blessing~”
Izay’s survival instinct kicked in, and he weighed his toes, ready to flee while trying to reason with her.
“Nonsense! Don’t I know you two love each other? Otherwise, how could Ais carbon let you succeed!?” Loki said tearfully: “But it pains me that you dared to touch Ais!!”
“Uh…” Izay hesitated slightly: “To be honest, I don’t quite understand the difference here?”
“You don’t need to understand my pain! Go to hell, Izay!! Die!!”
You bastard!! You cannot live anymore!!
With a loud bang, the luxurious carriage exploded, and Izay escaped first, followed by Loki relentlessly chasing him with the knife, shouting things like “painful, too painful.”
A few fragments of the exploded carriage landed on Raul’s head, making the elder brother look lost in deep thought.
“Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?”
