Chapter 478: Coming to Terms with Reality, But Not Accepting It (Please Subscribe!)
To be fair, Raul didn’t quite understand why Izay and Loki decided to abandon the carriage.
From a sensory perspective, after being forcibly controlled by Loki earlier, he seemed to have faintly heard words like “mutual affection,” “making a move,” “success,” and “blessings.”
As the carriage driver, Raul glanced at the carriage behind him that was already declared useless, revealing an ordinary look of fear on his plain face.
“Maybe I shouldn’t investigate further… I heard nothing, and nothing happened just now… Yeah, I wasn’t even here today… Who’s Raul? Wasn’t he supposed to go to Happy Street!?”
The elder brother very clearly understood the principle that the more you know, the faster you die.
Just recalling Loki’s angry expression from before, he chose to follow his heart without hesitation.
Struggling to get up from the wreckage of the carriage, he immediately bolted towards the southeast direction of Happy Street.
On the other side, Loki held a dagger in her hand, screaming “I’m going to kill you~~!” as she engaged in a chase with Izay.
The battle was so fierce that wherever they went, not a blade of grass survived.
Pedestrians along the way were all scared into making space for the two.
From one end of the street to the other, it took only a few minutes for Izay and Loki to experience most of Orario’s northwest region.
The location was where the Divine Feast was being held – Apollo’s Familial Group’s headquarters.
Here, lights shone brightly, and luxury carriages gathered one after another. Countless handsome men and beautiful women dressed in formal attire, and there was a grand venue facility that could be mistaken for a palace.
Horses neighed around them, and beautifully decorated carriage doors opened, allowing deity after deity and their Familial Groups to step out.
For this special Divine Feast, the deities had each chosen their most satisfactory members to attend, wanting to show off their children.
Mixed among the perfectly flawless gods and goddesses, there were many adventurers and craftsmen dressed splendidly.
Wearing exquisite evening gowns and stepping in expensive leather shoes, for tonight only, the pleasure-seeking deities temporarily set aside their nature to spend this special feast with their children.
However, there was one exception.
She didn’t seem to get along well with her own Familial Group like the other deities did.
In fact, it felt more like she was facing her enemies?
“That’s Loki, isn’t it? What is she doing with a knife!?”
“Although I don’t know the reason, I’m already scared… I feel like that knife might end up on my head… Loki is capable of such things.”
“I think Loki is looking for something. Her Familial Group doesn’t seem to have come to the banquet with her?”
“You’re not suggesting that Loki is hunting down her own Familial Group, are you? That’s absurd!”
“Yeah, yeah.” The surrounding deities, upon hearing these comments, all found this speculation unbelievable and nonsensical.
Amidst the presence of countless deities and princesses, Izay would be lying if he said he wasn’t nervous.
He really didn’t expect Loki’s explosiveness and endurance to be this strong!
Chasing him down several streets with a knife, all the way to Apollo’s main base, and not even breaking a sweat.
Is this really the physical capability of a normal person after having their divine powers sealed?
Has it been secretly unsealed?
Izay peeked through the gaps in the crowd at Loki, whose face was full of rage, and confirmed that there had been no secret unsealing.
Now that Izay possessed divinity, he could perceive the power that deities exuded; whether Loki had secretly unsealed herself or not, he could tell at a glance.
“Could it be potential unleashed under pressure?” Izay rubbed his chin thoughtfully, feeling somewhat melancholic.
After that long chase, he roughly figured out why Loki had turned into this.
Simply put, she realized the reality but refused to accept it.
Come to think of it.
Ais is the little cabbage she has painstakingly nurtured for over a decade, always showing great care.
And just like that, she was silently taken away by him.
If this happened to Izay, he’d be angry too!
It’s like the mindset of a father when his daughter gets married, wanting to beat up the son-in-law kind of affectionate old father.
“According to tradition, Ais needs to appear to calm Loki’s rage at this moment. In the future, whenever Loki feels this way, Ais will stand in front of me protectively, leaving Loki both angry and helpless…”
Hiding within Loki’s blind spot, Izay muttered softly about the development of future plots.
Don’t ask him how he knows; stories always unfold this way.
Inspiration comes from reality, right? (Shrugs.jpg)
Of course, Izay was just imagining that situation.
Since Ais isn’t here now, he still has to handle it himself.
“—Oh my, isn’t that little brother Izay? Why are you lingering here alone? Are you troubled by something? Need some advice from me!?”
Suddenly, a very distinctive teasing tone reached Izay’s ears.
Turning his head, Hermes was walking happily towards him, and seeing the crescent-shaped eyes filled with mirth, Izay immediately showed a disdainful face.
“Are you here to mock me? Can you tone down your aura of joy a bit?”
There’s no way Hermes didn’t see Loki’s murderous intent when he entered through the gate.
“That hurts, I was genuinely trying to help you… By the way, what did you do? To make Loki act like that? I’m curious~”
Before exchanging a few sentences, Hermes revealed his true nature. Replacing his teasing smile, he nudged Izay’s waist with his elbow, his gossiping demeanor completely exposed.
Beside him stood Asfi in a pure white evening gown, the princess of the sea kingdom currently looking utterly helpless.
“Hermes-sama, please stop being annoying… I can see how much Izay dislikes you, can you show a little self-awareness?” While advising, Asfi was struggling hard not to sigh.
Hermes said in surprise, “Oh? That’s surprising, Asfi dear, when did your favorability towards Izay increase so much? Even I, the main deity, didn’t know about this… defending him openly in front of everyone!?”
“That’s not defense! I’m worried you’ll unintentionally attract Loki-sama here, and we’ll suffer the consequences!” Asfi glared at him angrily.
One is Izay, one of the few Lv.6 individuals in Orario.
The other is Loki, the reigning deity atop Orario.
Who among them can they afford to offend!?
Getting caught in their conflict means offending one of them!
Does this cheerful deity even understand this point!?
Asfi was almost crying inside.
Today was yet another day where the main deity made the young lady lament.
