Chapter 502: Loki’s Assist (Please Subscribe!)
The day after the War Game concluded, within a private room of the high-end tavern.
“Have you all been thoroughly investigating suspicious locations within the city lately? Any findings!?”
After Loki finished speaking, she glanced around at the two heavenly deities in front of her.
“These days, I’ve had my kids search everywhere, but we haven’t found any valuable clues—came up empty-handed.”
Dionysus, with a neutral and gentle appearance, shook his head as he answered.
“And what about you, Hermes!? Have you been properly searching the southeastern areas these past few days!?”
Loki shot him a look, then directed her sharp tone straight at Hermes.
Since deciding to find another entrance to the Dungeon, this was the first time the three deities had gathered like this, now sharing intelligence.
“Hmph, why does Loki sound like you’re ready to eat me alive, assuming I’ve done nothing? I’ve been diligently searching! Asfi hasn’t even rested recently~”
Hermes, looking slightly aggrieved, made Asfi behind him avert her gaze.
This god who slacks off and fudges taxes all day is at it again!
“Heh, are you serious?” Loki smirked, her tone turning disdainful. “Do you even know that a few days ago, Izay discovered an additional entrance to the Dungeon?”
“What—!?”
“Are you serious?!”
As soon as the words were spoken, both Dionysus and Hermes widened their eyes, seemingly astonished by the intel.
At this moment, Philais behind Dionysus subtly shifted her gaze, unwilling to confront her deity’s acting skills.
Her mindset mirrored Asfi’s from earlier.
These two deities were seasoned actors (and shady ones at that).
However, upon hearing Izay’s name, Miss White Witch did cast a peculiar glance.
Though they hadn’t met for a while, she often heard his name through Refia.
It seemed that for some reason, Miss Ais had grown rather close to Izay recently, unintentionally ignoring her.
The little fairy confided in her best friend about how hard things had become~
“Do you think I’d lie about something like this? What would I gain from deceiving you?” Loki continued to regard Hermes with disdain.
“Lady Loki…while your success is certainly something to celebrate, might I ask why your gaze towards me grows increasingly disrespectful?” Hermes couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Do you know where Izay found the entrance?”
“Uh…where?”
“Daedalus Street!”
Ah, now Hermes understood.
Someone from Loki’s group found the entrance within his jurisdiction; her disdain wasn’t unfounded.
“But…that doesn’t prove I didn’t contribute! You know Daedalus Street, Loki!”
A ground labyrinth.
Mistakes there could be excused, right?
Hermes attempted to salvage his reputation.
But it was useless; Loki still wouldn’t give him the time of day. “You can step down, Mr. Hermes. From now on, I’ll take charge of Daedalus Street. In return, you will investigate Ishtar for me!”
That goddess from the Pleasure Quarter tried to harm her Familial Group last time in the port town, and Loki hadn’t settled the score yet!
This was the perfect excuse to have Hermes dig into her affairs. Once enough evidence was gathered, Loki planned to strike directly!
No need to consult the Guild beforehand.
“Oh? Investigate Ishtar, huh?” Hermes’s eyes lit up.
“Exactly, go dig into her! She’s probably tied up with the Dark Faction!” Loki nodded.
“Alright, I’ll do my best to find her slip-ups.”
“You better be serious, or I’ll make you regret it if you keep slacking off.”
“Relax, Lady Loki, you’ve already scolded me enough. I’ll get to work. Leave Ishtar to me to ‘handle.'”
With that, Hermes smiled faintly, stood up, adjusted his travel hat, and left the room with Asfi.
Loki had no idea yet.
By “handle,” Hermes meant truly handle.
“What’s he up to now with his schemes?”
Seeing Hermes leave suddenly, Loki furrowed her brow, completely baffled.
……
Later that noon, Loki Familia was heading towards Daedalus Street.
“This place is just as ridiculous…”
“If we get separated, I don’t think I could regroup with everyone…”
As soon as Tiona and Refia entered the complex maze-like streets, they voiced their impressions.
Izay gently ruffled the fairy’s hair, speaking in a babying tone.
“If Refia gets lost, just stay put. I’ll definitely come find you with Ais.”
“Stop it! Don’t touch my head! And stop talking to me like I’m a kid! I’m grown up already…! And why does it have to be Ais coming to find me!?”
“Wouldn’t it feel safe if you were found by both me and Ais? Two Level 6 heroes protecting you. Or do you dislike it? If you don’t like it, that’s fine~”
“I…it’s not that I dislike it…but…” Refia puffed out her cheeks mid-sentence. “Why does it always assume I’ll get lost!? Are you underestimating me, Izay!?”
“How could I? Our Refia reached Level 4 at fifteen, very impressive, isn’t she, Ais?” Izay continued to pat her head.
The blonde girl beside him also gave her affirmation.
“Yes, Refia is very skilled.”
Refia nearly exploded inside!
On one hand, there was the frustration and unhappiness of being treated like a child by Izay.
On the other hand, there was the joy and excitement of being praised by Miss Ais.
Two feelings filled Refia’s heart, making her simultaneously happy and angry, leaving her in an indescribable state.
Anqi and Haruhi nearby couldn’t help but smile at the familiar scene of Izay teasing Refia.
They also agreed with Tiona’s earlier comment.
The terrain here was indeed complex.
If you removed the residents’ daily lives—clothes drying on ropes, elderly people casually playing chess—it could easily pass as ancient ruins.
At the front of the group, Loki, who had been carefully studying the map, turned back and immediately adopted a stern expression.
In two quick steps, she approached Izay, removing his “perverted” hand from Refia’s head.
Then she jabbed her finger repeatedly into Izay’s chest. “Stay far, far away from MY Refia! I haven’t settled the score with you yet for the last incident!”
Currently, Loki was in a fiercely protective state.
Any slight movement from Izay, and she would interrupt.
However, Izay didn’t care much about it. If it made Loki feel better, let her do her thing.
Though her efforts were utterly futile…
Because the more you suppress, the greater the rebellion.
Loki’s violent protection didn’t achieve anything. Instead, it created opportunities for Ais to casually approach Izay.
Looking at it this way, Izay should thank her instead!
She was giving him assists!
