Chapter 46: Whoa, So Much!
“Whoa!”
When Weirafiya saw Aierjisi toss out so many Gold Coins, her eyes nearly popped out of her head. She could guarantee that since she arrived in this world, she had never seen so many Gold Coins. How did Aierjisi have so many on her? This was totally unfair; how come her starting point was being broke?
By the way, Weirafiya initially meant to say 20 Gold Coins, but Aierjisi misunderstood it as 200. But you know what? That misunderstanding turned out pretty sweet—if she had 200 Gold Coins, she’d be living like a queen for ages!
“How’s it going? I already paid you for your hard work. This little task…”
“Don’t worry! I’ll definitely help with this. We’re both from Earth, after all. It’s only natural we help each other. Now, to celebrate our first alliance, let’s drink to our heart’s content! Who dares to try and take my Gold Coins?!”
Seeing some clueless morons attempting to pick up the Gold Coins from the floor, Weirafiya didn’t hold back from giving them a good scolding. This was her hard-earned money—who dared to steal from her? She’d turn them to ashes for even trying!
Upon hearing Weirafiya’s roar, those who were planning to grab the Gold Coins scattered, realizing they were step-in in front of a fire-breathing dragon. They were regulars at this Tavern and knew well about Weirafiya’s capabilities.
Losing money? Pfft, they could always earn it back. But lose their lives? That was a one-way trip!
If any ignorant fools still attempted to snatch the coins, they’d realize that a single Gold Coin could change their destitute lives forever.
“Hey, you! Are you deaf? I just said, who dares to try and steal my Gold Coins?!”
Weirafiya stormed up to a greasy uncle at a table, slamming her hand down furiously. Did he not hear her loud and clear?
“Finder’s keepers! If it’s on my turf, it’s mine!”
Clearly, this uncle had no intention of returning the Gold Coins. He tried to twist Weirafiya’s words to his advantage.
“This is my hard-earned money! You’d better think twice and return that Gold Coin now. Otherwise, I won’t hold back!”
“Hmph! You dare to make a move? Bring it on!”
This uncle was all too confident about his strength—after all, he was a seasoned adventurer. There was no way a little girl could scare him!
“That’s what you said. So here I come!”
Weirafiya merely shot a fierce glare at the uncle. In the next instant, flames erupted around him, devouring his clothes in a blaze.
“Ah! My clothes!”
But this uncle clearly underestimated Weirafiya. He never expected that just a glare could ignite his entire outfit. To avoid being burned, he had no choice but to strip off his garments.
“Uh… Boss, aren’t you going to do anything? She’s setting your place on fire!”
Aierjisi pointed at the still-burning clothes on the floor. This Tavern was made of wood! If someone didn’t do something, they’d all be toast! But for some strange reason, the Boss was eerily calm, as if he didn’t care about his own establishment.
“Relax, those flames won’t affect the Tavern. The young lady here loves this place too much; she wouldn’t dare burn it down. Right, Boss?”
Before the Boss could respond, Yake jumped in with an answer for Aierjisi.
“Yeah, if it’s her flames, there’s no need to worry. Her fire only burns things she wants to destroy and won’t spread to anything else.”
The Boss continued to wash his cups without a care. After all, Weirafiya was a regular; he knew her flames pretty well.
“Is that so? That’s good, but shouldn’t we be worried about what’s coming next? Those guys look like they won’t back down easily.”
Aierjisi gestured towards the corner. It was clear that the greasy uncle wasn’t alone. A few of his companions were standing now, eyeing Weirafiya with contempt.
“Don’t worry. Those fools are no match for her. A mere glance from her could wipe them all out!”
Yake knew exactly how fearsome Weirafiya was. Come on, she was a pure-bred Phoenix! Those guys couldn’t even take him on, let alone mess with her!
As Yake said, Weirafiya didn’t need to move a muscle; she just glared, and poof—those guys’ clothes and weapons turned to ash. But being merciful, she left them each a pair of underwear.
“If you know what’s good for you, just hurry and get out! Don’t interrupt my drinking!”
“Okay, okay, we’re leaving, we’re leaving!”
Even Weirafiya’s antics scared the wits out of them, and they scampered out wearing nothing but their underwear.
“Wow, you really went all out! Burning their clothes off, now they have to run around in this freezing city with just their underwear!”
“Pfft! Who told those losers to try and steal from me? Leaving them with just underwear is more than generous! If I wanted, I could’ve burned their underwear too!”
“I believe it! I believe it!”
Based on Weirafiya’s fiery display, Aierjisi didn’t doubt for a second that she could easily scorch their underwear off without breaking a sweat.
“Anyway, now that we’ve taught those blind fools a lesson, I’m feeling a bit tired. Here’s to our first alliance, cheers!”
“Cheers! Oh, by the way, who’s this?”
Aierjisi pointed at Yake, noticing how chummy he seemed with Weirafiya. Was it possible that, like Ailin, she also made a Contract with a human?
“Oh! I didn’t introduce you last time. Let me fix that! This is Yake, my loyal sidekick who’s willing to serve me out of admiration for my strength. Speaking of which, where’s your sidekick? I don’t see him around.”
This was a rare opportunity for Weirafiya to introduce her sidekick to Aierjisi.
“Oh, you mean Yaser? He’s still snoozing in bed! I have no idea what he was up to today, but by the time he gets back, he’ll be utterly exhausted. So, I had no choice but to come out alone.”
