Chapter 51: If You’re So Worried, Why Not Go Take a Look?

Chapter 51: If You’re So Worried, Why Not Go Take a Look?

“Hello! May I ask where Lord Gaia is right now?”

On the road, Yake casually grabbed a passing attendant, inquiring about Gaia’s current location. After all, with such a huge construction project finished, he had no clue where to find him. He might not even be in the office.

“Lord Gaia? I’ve heard that he seems to still be in bed, not awake yet.”

“Ah? He’s still not awake?”

Yake’s heart sank upon hearing the attendant’s words. Oh no, what if something really did happen to Gaia? He had already woken up, yet Gaia was still in dreamland. It was hard to believe he wasn’t in trouble.

“Yes, I heard he’s still unconscious in bed. Lord Mios has been by his side day and night, waiting for him to wake up.”

“Alright, I understand. Thank you. You can go back to your duties now.”

After sending the attendant away, Yake pondered what he should do next. Since Gaia still hadn’t awakened, it was probably because he had pushed too hard during their special training. If he went to see him now, would it disturb his rest?

“Hm? Yake. What are you doing here? Weren’t you supposed to be looking for Gaia? Why are you leaning against the wall?”

On the other side, Aierjisi had just finished sipping some water in their room and had rushed back.

She spotted Yake deep in thought, looking like he was contemplating life as he leaned against the corridor wall.

If only she had a camera, she would have definitely snapped a picture of Yake’s pose to keep forever. He looked so handsome just now!

“Why am I just thinking about whether to go find Gaia or not?”

“Why think about it? If you want to go, just go!”

“It’s not that simple! I just heard from the attendant that Gaia’s still not awake. If I visit him now, I might disturb his rest. I was wondering whether I should go or not.”

Yake grimaced, completely unsure about visiting.

“Well, if that’s the case, then let’s flip a coin to decide! Heads, we go; tails, we don’t.”

Seeing Yake so troubled, Aierjisi felt it was her duty as the hostess to step in. She pulled out a shiny gold coin, ready for the classic coin toss to make the decision.

“Alright, let’s do it!”

Yake nodded, finding it a good idea.

“Okay, I’ll toss it now.”

Aierjisi tossed the coin into the air and let it fall freely to the ground.

“Looks like it’s tails. That means we should go check on Gaia, right?”

The two of them looked at the side of the coin that was facing up, and Yake asked Aierjisi if tails indeed meant that.

“That’s right! Tails definitely means we go visit Gaia.”

“Then it seems we have no choice but to go see him.”

“Wait a moment! I’ll go with you. Gaia is my friend too!”

Aierjisi grabbed Yake’s arm, and they set off together.

After about 10 minutes…

“Say, Yake. You do know where Gaia’s room is, right?”

Aierjisi furrowed her brow, sensing something was off. They’ve been walking for 10 minutes and still hadn’t found Gaia’s room.

“I… actually don’t know…”

Yake confessed, feeling a bit embarrassed after being so bluntly called out.

“What the heck! Why didn’t you just ask an attendant along the way?!”

Aierjisi couldn’t help but let out her frustrations. Knowing Yake had been wandering aimlessly in the palace with no idea where he was going drove her nuts. She gave him a kick on the rear.

“Ow! Stop kicking! That hurts!”

“Good! You deserve it for leading me around while being clueless!”

“I realize my mistake now! So please stop kicking!”

“If admitting your mistakes helped, then what do we need guards for, huh?!”

In a fit of rage, Aierjisi continued to unleash her fury on Yake’s rear end. As for how Yake’s rear ended up afterward, we won’t go into detail.

After giving Yake a good thrashing, Aierjisi finally found a palace attendant and asked for directions to Gaia’s room.

“Thank you! I’m sorry for the trouble.”

“No worries. Serving the guests of the palace is our job.”

After sending off the attendant, Aierjisi and Yake followed the directions he provided and successfully arrived at Gaia’s room.

“This is Gaia’s room? It sure looks impressive!”

“Have we not been here once before? Why does it sound like it’s your first time?”

If Yake remembered correctly, when they first arrived at the palace, Aierjisi had used the excuse of healing Gaia to convince him to show her to his room. So, technically, hadn’t they already been here?

“Yeah, we have. But can’t I just express my feelings about it?”

“Not at all! Hearing you say that makes me want to comment back!”

“Oh…”

The two of them stood in front of Gaia’s room, unsure of what to do next. Should they knock on the door?

“Yake. Why don’t you knock? After all, you’re the one who wanted to see him.”

Aierjisi turned to Yake, urging him to knock.

“I’m still debating if I should go in… And if I do knock, what do we even say? What do we do?”

Yake felt a bit panicked. He had no idea what to do if they went inside. Should they just hurry back instead?

“Seriously? You didn’t think about what to say? You just wanted to pop by to visit Gaia?”

Aierjisi looked at Yake with disdain. A guy who freezes up at such a crucial moment was completely unreliable!

“Honestly, I didn’t think it through. I never considered this situation before. How about you knock instead? You seem good at handling these things.”

“Fine, fine! If you’re going to be useless, I guess I’ll have to knock myself.”

Aierjisi shook her head helplessly. She’d make sure to give Yake a piece of her mind later, but for now, it was time to knock.

*Knock knock knock!*

She rapped three times on the door, counting down in her mind. If ten seconds passed and there was still no response, she and Yake would just leave together.

“Who’s there?”

However, contrary to expectations, the moment she knocked, a voice came from inside the room. It seemed to be from Mios!
