Chapter 52: A Small Token of Affection

Chapter 52: A Small Token of Affection

“It’s me. Aierjisi, along with my servant Yake.”

Aierjisi introduced herself and Yake.

“Oh, it’s Mr. Yake and Miss Aierjisi! Just a moment, I’ll come to open the door right away.”

Knowing that it was Lord Gaia’s friends outside, Mios quickly opened the door, letting the two of them in.

“Is Mr. Gaia still not awake?”

Looking at Gaia lying on the bed, Aierjisi frowned as she observed his current condition.

Strangely enough, Gaia’s body had already returned to normal; how could he still not be awake after all this time?

“Still not. At first, I thought he might die, and I hurried to find Ouxs. In the end, Ouxs said that Gaia was just overly exhausted and needed a good rest. But it’s already been nearly two days and two nights, and he still hasn’t woken up.”

Mios knelt worriedly by the bed, reaching out to hold Gaia’s left hand. If Aierjisi hadn’t known that Mios was actually a man, she might have mistaken them for a couple.

“Hmm… this is indeed a bit suspicious. Let me check his condition properly. It’s been almost two days and two nights, and he still hasn’t woken up—this is not normal.”

Aierjisi reached out to grasp Gaia’s wrist, feeling his pulse to see what was going on.

“Hmm… this is bad.”

In less than five seconds, Aierjisi let go of her hand, murmuring “bad, bad” under her breath.

“What’s wrong? What happened? Is Gaia very weak? Is he close to death?”

Hearing Aierjisi say “bad, bad” made Mios quite scared.

“No, it’s just that I can’t tell what’s going on right now. Gaia’s body is fine; I just checked, and everything is at a normal level. Maybe his brain just needs more rest. In any case, it shouldn’t be life-threatening.”

Aierjisi explained the results of her pulse check.

“What the heck? If everything is normal, then stop scaring me with all that ‘bad, bad’ talk!”

Knowing that Gaia was physically fine, Mios couldn’t help but feel both amused and exasperated as he lightly punched Aierjisi. This little princess was quite the troublemaker to scare him like that.

“Oh dear, oh dear. Alright, alright, stop hitting me. We just came to check on Gaia’s condition. Since he’s not in any major trouble, we can relax a bit. But since we’re here, I should leave something behind.”

Aierjisi opened her subspace and took out a small bottle of potion, placing it on the bedside table.

“What’s this?”

Mios picked up the bottle and examined it closely. However, he knew very little about potions, or rather, he knew nothing at all. So he had no idea what this potion was.

“This is a potion that I developed myself. I named it ‘Pulse.’”

“Pulse?”

“Exactly. There’s a saying, ‘When the spirit is not in the right state, it can always come back with a pulse.’ This is a special recovery potion I made, and it’s quite precious. It generally takes three full hours to concoct such a small bottle. Its recovery efficiency is also extraordinarily strong; I can even say that, even if someone is fatally injured, if they drink this within 20 minutes of death, they can be saved.”

Aierjisi proudly puffed out her chest, boasting about her creation. If he were to let those useless so-called researchers in human society study this potion, maybe they could win some Nobel Potion Prize or something?

“Is it really that amazing?”

Mios held the potion in his hands, skeptical about Aierjisi’s claims.

How could there really be a potion that could bring someone back to life within 20 minutes of dying?

“Really! This thing is quite valuable. I’ve only managed to create seven bottles so far, and this one is one of them. If you don’t believe me, just give it back; I’ll be quite upset about it.”

Seeing Mios doubt her masterpiece, Aierjisi felt a bit angry and reached out to take the potion back.

“I didn’t say I didn’t believe you. Anyway, thank you for your kind gesture.”

Just as Aierjisi reached for the potion, Mios tucked it into his embrace, vowing to protect it with all his might.

“Hmph. As long as you believe me, we have nothing more to do here. If Gaia wakes up, remember to call us. We’ll come back.”

“Okay, don’t worry. When Gaia wakes, I’ll have a servant notify you.”

“Alright, that’s settled then. Let’s go, Yake.”

“Oh, and, um, this is just a little token of my appreciation.”

Before leaving, Yake didn’t forget to pull out a small gift from his wormhole and hand it to Mios as a gesture of his visit.

“Gaia, when are you going to wake up?”

After sending them both off, Mios continued to lean by the bed, waiting for the moment Gaia would awaken.

“Hmm… Yake, is there anywhere you want to go? Just to be clear, if you want to go to the Training Ground, I can be your opponent this time. I won’t use any spells on you.”

In the corridor of the Royal Palace, the two strolled aimlessly. Now that Yake’s legs had mostly recovered, he could walk normally again.

Aierjisi felt bored in the palace again and couldn’t help but want to wander around the outside city. But upon recalling that it was still freezing outside, she immediately lost her desire to go out.

Ah… if only this world had something like a computer! How nice it would be to sit in front of a computer, playing games 24/7 without blinking an eye. Unlike now, stuck in this Royal Palace, who would have thought she would feel bored from staying home?

“I don’t really have anywhere special I want to go. If I could, I just want to go back and sleep for a bit.”

“Ah? Didn’t you just wake up? Now you want to go back for a nap?”

Aierjisi couldn’t help but give Yake a disdainful look. Was this guy born under a pig sign? He had just woken up and wanted to go back to sleep again!

“But I just feel a bit tired right now.”

Maybe it was because his body hadn’t fully recovered; after walking around the palace for a bit, Yake felt his legs were very tired.

“Sigh. Fine, then go back and rest well. Luckily, I don’t have anything to do, so I’ll just nap with you.”

If she could, Aierjisi originally wanted to play outside a little longer, but since Yake wanted to sleep, she had no choice but to follow him back.
