Chapter 65: There’s a Circus Here

Chapter 65: There’s a Circus Here

“In this world without computers and smartphones, the only thing that can comfort Aierjisi, the otherworlder from Earth, is the food from this world.”

“Aier, aren’t you eating a bit too much? You’ve already devoured nearly two gold coins’ worth.”

Seeing Aierjisi still gorging herself, Yake wasn’t worried about the money. He was just concerned whether her stomach could handle all that food. Overeating is still a bad habit, after all.

“Don’t worry about me! I’m feeling really down right now, and I need to eat a ton of delicious food to lift my spirits. Plus, I need to stock up on food to convert into magic power for the upcoming battles!”

Saying that, Aierjisi continued stuffing her face with food. This city really was driving her nuts. The only thing she could do was enjoy this food. She also began to understand why Weirafiya spent all her time in bars—because for her, there probably wasn’t anywhere else to go. Now, Aierjisi found herself in the same situation; apart from these restaurants, there was no other place to be.

“But seriously, you are eating way too much.”

Before coming to this restaurant, Aierjisi had already indulged in plenty of street food, and now she was practically eating the entire day’s ingredients of the restaurant.

“I told you not to fuss over me! I’m granting you permission to wander off and do whatever outside; just don’t come back here to nag me!”

As Yake droned on with his lecturing, he felt more irritated. Aierjisi simply gave him a free pass. For the time being, he could go wherever he pleased—whether to indulge in vices or to drink, she wouldn’t care.

“It’s not about that! As your servant, it’s my duty to look after your health!”

“Rest assured, my health is perfectly fine! Just a bit of food won’t affect me at all; you can relax.”

Aierjisi picked up a leg of some unknown creature and bit into it.

“But I believe that even if you finish all this food, it won’t actually help your mood.”

Yake looked at the little princess, knowing that even if she ate every last bite, it wouldn’t change her feelings unless she dealt with the source of her unhappiness.

Hearing Yake’s words, Aierjisi froze and put down the leg in her hand.

“So what am I supposed to do? Right now, all I can do is eat these things. I can’t adapt to life in this world at all. I already miss my life on Earth—my computer, my phone, the cinema. There were so many ways to entertain myself. But this place has none of that…”

Aierjisi slumped over the table, kicking her legs out of frustration. As an Earthling in this completely different fantasy world, she still couldn’t get used to her new life. This place was just too boring, not to mention that she had a troublesome identity that added to her troubles.

“Hmm… since that’s the case, how about we check out the circus performance?”

After thinking for a bit, Yake wasn’t sure what Aier had mentioned earlier, but one thing was certain: she felt bored. And since she was bored, she needed some entertainment to pass the time. Watching a circus performance seemed like the perfect way to kill some time.

“Circus? There’s one here too?”

Upon hearing the word ‘circus,’ Aierjisi immediately perked up. Back in Chester Town, she and Yake had seen a circus performance, and that show was absolutely spectacular—she still remembered it fondly!

“Of course! I heard from one of the king’s servants that there’s a circus performance here. However, this circus is a permanent fixture, unlike Mr. Roger’s. The show might not be as good, but it should still be quite enjoyable. Want to go check it out together?”

Yake extended his hand, inviting Aierjisi to join him for the circus performance.

“Yes, yes! Where is this circus? Let’s head out right now!”

Aierjisi eagerly took Yake’s hand. Had she known there was a circus performance here, she would have been dying to go see it!

“Uh…”

Yake felt a bead of sweat trickle down his forehead. It was great that the little princess wanted to accompany him to the circus, but the problem was…

“Yake, you don’t actually know where the circus is, do you? You just heard from the servants that there’s a circus here.”

Seeing Yake’s stunned expression, Aierjisi quickly realized that he didn’t have a clue about the circus’s location.

“That’s true. I’m still unfamiliar with this place. Even if they mentioned a name, I wouldn’t know how to get there.”

Yake had no choice but to admit his inadequacy. Had he known, he should have grabbed a map of Panimir.

“Ugh, I knew it would come to this. But don’t worry; I’ve already prepared the map. Just tell me where we need to go, and I’ll figure out how to get there.”

Aierjisi knew Yake would mess up at a crucial moment. Thankfully, she had the map ready. It was just a matter of whether Yake could name the place.

“Okay, let me see… it’s probably this place. I heard them say there’s a circus here.”

Pointing at the map, Yake found one of the names.

“Shitakubo… so it’s this place. But why does that name sound so bad?”

Aierjisi recalled hearing that name on Earth, too, and there was someone really smelly from that area. Just seeing the name now triggered her instinctive disgust.

“Bad smell? I don’t smell anything.”

“Of course you don’t! In my old home, Earth, there’s also a place called Shitakubo. Though I’ve never been there, I heard it’s pretty stinky! But anyway, the two places are only alike in name; there’s nothing else in common. Now that I know where the circus is, once I finish all this food, we’ll head out!”

Having determined the circus’s location and the route to get there, Aierjisi tucked the map back into her pocket and continued to enjoy the delicious food of this otherworld.
