Chapter 123: What’s the Difference Between This and Not Reducing?!
“If you go back now, Mios won’t say anything about your clothes anymore, so hurry back.”
“And what about you? Aren’t you coming back with us?”
“I’ll pass. I need to find Gaia next. We have to discuss how to host this celebration feast. I won’t be accompanying you two, but I hope you enjoy the feast.”
After explaining the reasons to them, Ailin was the first to leave the room to find her husband.
“Then… let’s quickly head back. It’ll be bad if we’re late, don’t you think?”
“I feel the same way. Let’s go.”
“Yep!”
With a unanimous decision made, Aierjisi and Yake returned to the hall where the celebration feast was being held.
“Your clothes are really clean now. You really can’t underestimate Ailin; she makes this look so easy!”
Mios checked their clothes, and indeed they looked much cleaner, as if they had just been made.
“Exactly! I admit, I can’t control water like she can.”
Aierjisi was a jack-of-all-trades, somewhat good in every aspect of magic. However, as a trade-off, she wasn’t as skilled as the others in any specific type.
For instance, she was not as good at fire magic as Weirafiya, nor water magic as Ailin.
But so what? Does that mean she’s worthless? Impossible! Just because she has a bit of each magic, she can combine various attributes to create her own strengths.
“Well, since your clothes are all sorted, that’s great. Please find a place to sit and wait for the celebration to officially start. Just like the Phoenix, see how they’re sitting over there? You can sit there as well.”
Mios pointed to a nondescript spot where Weirafiya and Yaser were sitting. That position was indeed a good choice if they wanted to stay under the radar.
“Okay. Thanks a lot! Let’s go, Yake.”
“Yep.”
After bidding Mios farewell, they headed over to Weirafiya.
“Have you two wrapped up? Let me have a look. Hmm, Ailin looks good sitting there, living up to being the Ice Dragon Clan’s princess. Very impressive at controlling water, I must say.”
Weirafiya circled them, and their clothes were indeed much cleaner than before.
“Of course! If only I could control water as well as she does, I could handle it myself. Clearly, I’m still not skilled enough.”
“That’s nothing to worry about; you have your own advantages, right?”
“That’s true. But I still can’t help wanting to be a bit stronger; it would make things so much more convenient.”
“Well, it can’t be helped; that’s just how your character is in this game. You have a bit of everything but never reach mastery in any single attribute. So stop thinking about that; it’s a celebration feast today! Let’s enjoy it. You’ll be able to drink a lot of exquisite wine that you normally can’t.”
Just the thought of drinking all that wine made Weirafiya’s smile broaden.
“Miss, I believe I mentioned earlier, don’t drink too much, okay?”
“Shut up! Do I need you to babysit me when I drink? You’re just a servant—just stay quiet. Besides, I’m the Phoenix; I can’t get drunk no matter how much I drink.”
“Oh really? But I recall the last time you drank all night at the bar, and the next day you were completely out of it, unable to even walk straight. I had to carry you back.”
Ah, speaking of which, Aierjisi and the others remembered how they had encountered Yaser when they went out looking for the circus, and Yaser had mentioned that the lady was still sleeping in her room from drinking too much.
“Could you not bring that up? Besides, that time I deliberately got drunk to test my limits on how much I could drink.”
“Then you should have a better understanding of how much you can drink now, right?”
“Um, not really, because I drank so much that I forgot how many glasses I had.”
You really are amazing, huh…
Aierjisi looked at Weirafiya with a somewhat uncomfortable expression.
“What’s wrong? I just drank too much back then and lost consciousness. Do you have a problem with that? It’s not my fault!”
“Of course, it’s your fault! If you felt drunk, why did you keep drinking? Are you that much of a drunkard that you can’t live without alcohol?”
“Of course not! I just like drinking a little, just a little.”
“Please don’t misunderstand. Before coming here, Miss didn’t really enjoy drinking. It’s just that life here’s too boring, and she ended up drinking to kill time, slowly growing fond of it.”
If memory serves, she had mentioned this to them before. Feeling they forgot, Yaser had to explain it to them again.
“Then I think you should work on quitting drinking. Drinking too much can be really dangerous for you.”
Weirafiya had no limits when it came to alcohol; she was the type to drink until satisfied. If allowed to go on like this, it would be dangerous for everyone involved.
After all, if she were drunk and the Adrian People attacked, she’d be totally defenseless!
“I’m aware of that! I’m slowly reducing the amount I drink each time. Going cold turkey would just be too much for me; I have to take it slowly.”
“Then how much do you reduce each time?”
“Um… I don’t remember, maybe just a tiny bit—around one milliliter?”
“And what’s the difference between that and not reducing at all?!”
Aierjisi lost her cool instantly. Reducing by one milliliter? This isn’t a joke!
“What do you want me to do, then? Am I supposed to cut down by two milliliters each time?”
“Even if you want to gradually reduce the amount, it shouldn’t be so minuscule! At least reduce by 500 milliliters each time to make it worth it!”
“500 milliliters? Please spare me! If I drink 500 milliliters less than last time, it would be like killing me!”
Indeed, during her stay in this city, Weirafiya had developed a real drinking problem, and it needed to be dealt with.
