Chapter 10: I’m an Adult Now
Staring at Qingwan’s innocent and adorable appearance, Ming paused for a moment, then smiled as he extended his hand to gently ruffle her little head.
“Hmph.”
Because Ming didn’t kiss her, Qingwan pouted, looking slightly upset.
But kids get mad quickly, and they also get over it just as fast.
Qingwan realized that Brother Ming was petting her head which felt quite nice, so she closed her eyes like a little kitten and rubbed against Ming’s palm.
Seeing Sister Xuenuo standing on the side staring blankly at her, Qingwan felt guilty for neglecting Sister Xuenuo while having such a good relationship with Brother Ming.
“Hmm? Sister Xuenuo is smiling,” Qingwan noticed happily.
“Xiaobai, do you want to have a snowball fight too?” Qingwan asked.
“Or how about the two of you team up against me?” Ming suggested.
“Hehehe Brother Ming turned into a snowman, hehehe,” Qingwan laughed joyfully as she watched Ming.
Xuenuo huffed and turned her head away, “I’m not that childish.”
“So it’s settled, let’s start.” Qingwan took Xuenuo and the Heavenly Black Goose away from Ming, “Three, two… one, begin!”
“I am an adult!” Xuenuo clenched her little fists, looking somewhat angry.
“Goose, goose, goose” At that moment, the Heavenly Black Goose ran over from the other side of the courtyard.
Lady Qin: “…”
The Heavenly Black Goose kept hopping around, dodging snowballs. On the other side, it used its wings to make snowballs, throwing them toward Ming.
Childish laughter echoed softly in the small courtyard.
“Yes~”
Suddenly, this dog-like goose caught everyone off guard by using its wings to scoop up snow and dump it all over Ming.
In less than half an hour, Xuenuo had completely joined in.
“I did not…” Xuenuo’s cheeks turned bright red.
Lady Qin smiled as if she hadn’t heard the last sentence, “All things in this world have spirits. Our capital city of Wu Kingdom is where national fortune gathers, abundant with spiritual energy. It’s normal for some creatures to gain a bit of wisdom.”
Phoenix shook her head, “Sister, stop teasing me. My fate isn’t as good as yours.”
“Sister Xu, let’s gang up on Xiaobai.” Qingwan grabbed a snowball and threw it at the Heavenly Black Goose.
“But there are three of us, how should we have a snowball fight?” Qingwan nibbled her finger, her little head filled with confusion.
As Qingwan announced the start of the snowball fight, this dog-like goose dug its wings into the snow, flapped them, raising a storm of snowflakes filling the entire sky.
Qingwan moved her little feet, making a soft sound as she walked to Xuenuo, “Sister Xuenuo, let’s have a snowball fight together~”
“Hmph! This lady never bullies the weak, come fight me alone!” Xuenuo crossed her arms, lifting her proud little chin, “I can take both of you down by myself.”
“I… I didn’t mean to be mean to you, don’t cry, only kids cry for no reason.” Watching Qingwan’s big tears rolling down nonstop, Xuenuo suddenly became flustered.
Realizing she had said something inappropriate, Phoenix quickly changed the subject, “This goose actually has some intelligence.”
“Xiaobai” was the name Qingwan gave to the Heavenly Black Goose, and Ming never refused, always calling it by that name.
Qingwan stood there, tilting her head back, crying louder, “But Qingwan is just a kid…”
Xuenuo’s cheeks turned slightly red, “I’m not a kid, I’m already an adult.”
Not only Qingwan and Xuenuo, even their teammate Ming got covered in snow from this dog-like goose.
In the kitchen, Lady Qin and Suyan looked at these three children playing and giggled like aunties.
“Hmm.” Ming nodded.
“Sister Wang should smile more like Sister Xuenuo, Sister Wang is so beautiful,” Lady Qin smiled as she looked at Phoenix.
The Heavenly Black Goose nodded, rubbing its head against Qingwan.
Ming’s eyebrows twitched; this dog-like goose showed no respect for him, its young master, but treated Qingwan with great care, even letting her ride it sometimes.
Qingwan tilted her cute little head, “But we are kids…”
At first, Xuenuo seemed a bit restrained, absentmindedly grabbing a snowball and tossing it.
Xuenuo also giggled softly.
Qingwan jumped happily, pulling Xuenuo to Ming, “Brother Ming, let’s all three have a snowball fight together.”
But when the snowball hit the swan and exploded, Xuenuo’s eyes lit up immediately.
“Shit, you damn dog goose! That was definitely on purpose!” Ming directly betrayed the goose, grabbing a snowball and throwing it at the goose.
Of course, Ming wouldn’t refuse.
“Goose, goose,” The Heavenly Black Goose nodded.
Xuenuo still refused, “Snowball fights are children’s games.”
Qingwan bit her fingers, thinking, “Mother said that when kids say that, they’re actually being even more childish. Only kids say they’re already adults.”
Qingwan’s crying stopped instantly. Her big eyes shimmered with tears, her little nose twitching, “Really?”
“No,” Xuenuo’s face turned even redder.
Xuenuo grabbed another snowball and threw it.
“I’m fine, fine, I’ll play snowball with you, okay?” Xuenuo eventually gave in.
Ming discovered that this dog-like goose only targeted him.
Qingwan blinked her eyes, “But it’s really fun, Sister Xuenuo, come join us, Sister Xuenuo will definitely like snowball fights~”
“There is.” Qingwan happily held Xuenuo’s hand, “I saw it.”
“And I think my half-sister is pretty interesting. She has a real ‘tsundere’ vibe, but deep down, she’s kind and gentle.”
Hearing Xuenuo speak loudly, Qingwan froze, her little face drooping, her watery peach blossom eyes glistening with mist, “Wawa wa, Sister Xuenuo, I’m sorry, Qingwan didn’t mean anything bad, Sister Xuenuo, don’t be mean to Qingwan, wawa wa…”
“Then Xiaobai, you team up with Brother Ming, and I’ll team up with Sister Xuenuo.” Qingwan divided the teams.
“Really.”
“Sister is right,” Phoenix nodded, glancing at the winter plum cake steaming in the stove, her eyes blinking lightly, not knowing what she was thinking.
On the other side, Lady Qin pulled Suyan’s hand, “Sister Chen, my second brother is coming tomorrow. He sent a letter today saying he would bring an elder from the sect to check Ming’s and the others’ bone structures. What do you think?”
