Chapter 324: You’ve Got Some Spunk
At first, Ming truly believed the opponent was a ghost cultivator.
But when his Ten Thunder Heart Technique proved ineffective, Ming realized this wasn’t a ghost cultivator but something else entirely.
Otherwise, even if it were a Nascent Soul Stage ghost cultivator, how could they remain unscathed against such innate suppressing magic?
Later, Ming felt the intense Sword Qi radiating from the opponent and heard metallic clangs as his sword struck their body.
Gradually, Ming became certain—it was a Sword Spirit! What puzzled him was why this Sword Spirit had gone berserk all of a sudden.
Ming also couldn’t fathom why there would be a Sword Spirit here, with terrifying strength no less.
“Clang!”
The sound of swords colliding echoed again.
Ming and the Woman in Red Dress both retreated a few steps.
She looked at Ming, her lips curling into a smirk, filled with amusement and admiration.
Her eyes gleamed with surprise.
Perhaps even she hadn’t expected that Ming’s strength would match hers so evenly.
“You’ve got some spunk. There are very few people at this realm who can fight me to this extent,” the woman said with a seductive smile, watching Ming with interest. “Hey, what’s your name?”
Hearing the voice of the woman in red, Ming was momentarily stunned, not expecting her to speak.
With his sword raised before her, he calmly replied, “Ming.”
“Ming.” The woman repeated his name, nodding approvingly. “Your strength is pretty good; you entertain me more than other Sword Cultivators.”
Ming chuckled, “My skills are average—I’m no match for you, miss.”
“Giggles…”
Just as her laughter faded, she appeared instantly before Ming. His pupils contracted, sensing impending doom! But all she did was reach out, placing her hand on his chest and giving it a light tap. “You’re quite interesting. I’ll spare you this time, but next time? Who knows~ Be prepared, okay?”
With that, the woman dissipated slowly before Ming, as though she had never been there.
“Tch, looks like I can’t let my guard down in the future. Gotta activate my Dao Pattern Eye.”
After the woman left, Ming clicked his tongue thoughtfully.
He hadn’t activated his Dao Pattern Eye earlier, allowing her to get too close—next time, he couldn’t afford to relax.
Ming wasn’t worried about their next encounter at all.
He hadn’t used any of his trump cards yet; next time, who knew who’d kill whom?
“Are you alright?”
Shixin jogged up beside Ming.
“I’m fine.” Ming patted his chest. “Let’s keep moving forward. This Sama Cave seems to have some interesting stuff.”
“Alright.” Shixin nodded.
As Ming and Shixin continued onward, they encountered several people along the way.
These individuals were visibly nervous, constantly glancing around, fearing the sudden appearance of the Woman in Red.
Ming learned that many had seen her. Those who had were clearly terrified.
Only newcomers to the cave, unaware of its dangers, dared to ambush others or commit murder for loot.
Once they discovered the truth about the Sama Cave, however, all thoughts of gain disappeared—they only wanted to escape.
Still, the Sama Cave contained numerous treasures and rare herbs.
It was home to many Fire Beasts, a general term for monsters capable of wielding fire-based spells, including Fire Snakes, Volcano Armors, and Fire Bats.
The Fire Beasts within the cave were of high quality, their entire bodies considered treasures, with some being unique to the Sama Cave.
Ming hunted some of these exclusive Fire Beasts, ensuring he had materials for future elixir-making or crafting items.
Throughout the mountain cave, one frequently stumbled upon corpses with their hearts ripped out—a truly chilling sight.
“Boom Boom Boom”
Ming lost track of how long he’d been inside the cave.
Suddenly, it began to shake violently, as if an earthquake had struck.
“Lava! The lava is coming!”
Someone shouted abruptly.
Everyone turned back to see a torrent of lava rushing toward them like a flood.
The scorching heat seared everyone’s skin.
Though cultivators could regulate their body temperature, thus tolerating the heat somewhat, the problem was that even Dragon Gate Realm cultivators using Spiritual Energy barriers wouldn’t last long against the lava.
Not to mention, this was likely not ordinary lava but Sama Lava! Everyone fled madly, their survival instincts at full throttle.
“Be careful, don’t touch the lava.”
In a hurry, Ming grabbed Shixin’s wrist and fled forward.
As they flew ahead, Shixin glanced down at her wrist.
Her delicate wrist was held firmly by Ming’s large hand. For Shixin, this was the first time a man had touched her wrist.
And this sensation… felt strange.
More and more people were consumed by the lava, unable to resist as they turned to ash instantly.
All hope vanished from the survivors’ minds.
This was indeed the Sama Lava from the Sama Cave! As the lava neared Ming, he swung his sword, creating a wall of Sword Qi to block it.
The advancing lava was halted for two breaths of time, allowing Ming to create distance. However, the accumulated lava surged forward even more fiercely.
“There’s light! It’s the exit!” someone yelled joyously at the front, believing they were finally free of this cursed place.
But when they emerged from the “cave,” what greeted them was another scene of despair.
