Chapter 39: A Simple Tea Party

Chapter 39: A Simple Tea Party

“You speak, what do you plan to do next? If there’s any way I can help, I’ll do my best.”

Gaia’s expression turned serious. What crucial task could they be undertaking at this moment? It must be something significant, right?

“It’s just to help Weirafiya with her enhancements. She’s ridiculously lazy! If I don’t keep an eye on her, she’ll waste a ton of time again. There’s no time to spare!”

If it were possible, I’d want to rest here for a while too, but alas. Weirafiya truly doesn’t appreciate the laziness she carries; if I don’t assist her, she’ll be just muddling through.

“Oh, so that’s what it is? Hmm. Is there any way I can assist you? How about letting Ailin come with you? The three of you should be safer that way.”

“No need. Weirafiya’s birthplace is in the volcanic region to the west. It wouldn’t be friendly to the water-type Ailin at all—sending her there would just be torturing her. Better to keep her here.”

“Yeah, that makes sense. So, is there anything else I can help with?”

“I have one favor I’d like to ask of you, though it might be very challenging for you all living in the snowy mountains.”

“What is it? Speak! If it’s within my capabilities, I will do my utmost to help you!”

“Could you help us prepare some heat-resistant clothing? We’ll need those when battling at the volcano.”

Just like when I specially wore cold-resistant gear to Panimir’s freezing land back then. Heading to the western volcanic area also requires preparing heat-resistant outfits. Otherwise, showing up in normal clothes would definitely cause them to experience quantum collapse from the heat!

“Heat-resistant clothing? Hmm… I’ll go ask Ouxs if he can help you prepare some.”

If anything needs to be prepared, the Royal Palace’s Sage should certainly handle it! There’s nothing he can’t manage; a mere heat-resistant outfit is a piece of cake for him!

“Alright, thank you. Let’s take a break here for now. Let’s go, Aake.”

Having finished all the necessary discussions, Aierjisi and the others left the office and returned to Weirafiya’s room to rest.

“So why do you two have to rest in my room? There are plenty of empty rooms where you could relax!”

Weirafiya protested indignantly. Now, with the two of them here, what used to be a spacious room suddenly felt cramped. How is one supposed to relax here?

“Of course, it’s to keep an eye on you and make sure you don’t run away.”

With Yaser’s strength, if Weirafiya really wanted to escape, he wouldn’t be able to stop her. So, having Aierjisi and Aake monitoring her was necessary.

“That seems a bit excessive. If I really wanted to run, I could’ve done it while you two were out. Why wait until now?”

“That’s true, but I think it’s still very necessary.”

“Ah… I really can’t communicate normally with you. Whatever, do as you like. I’ve given up struggling.”

At this point, with the situation being what it is, she couldn’t run away anyway, so it didn’t really matter.

“Hey, how about we have a little tea party? The lady loves tea!”

Yaser pulled out a tea bag and a teapot, setting them on the table. Now that there were four people here, a small tea gathering was just perfect!

“That sounds nice! I want to join. Aake should come too.”

“This kind of thing really doesn’t require me, does it? I can’t even tell good tea from bad.”

Aake frowned. For someone who didn’t understand anything about tea, it was a waste to have him partake!

“It’s fine; tea is something you drink. Good or bad doesn’t really matter. Hold on a minute.”

Yaser tossed the tea bag into the pot, then conjured a ball of flames with his left hand to boil the water. In just a minute, the water was boiling, leaving Aake wide-eyed in astonishment.

“Can you do it like this? Magic really is convenient! Too bad my magical talent isn’t great; otherwise, I’d want to try it too.”

“Alright, the tea’s ready! Hope you all like it! And lady, don’t stay angry! Come join us for tea.”

“No need to tell me! You two better not waste the tea; it’s a very important intangible cultural heritage made by Yaser! If you waste it, I won’t hesitate to battle you both right here.”

Weirafiya took a cup of the poured tea, took a sip, and savored the delicious black tea.

One could see how much she adored Yaser’s tea, even refusing to let anyone waste it in her presence.

“It’s that good? Let me try!”

Aierjisi curiously grabbed a cup and took a sip.

“Wow, hot! Hot!”

In the next moment, she was scalded, unable to close her mouth, spraying the tea back into the cup.

“Freshly brewed tea is quite hot; you should wait a bit before drinking. After all, you’re not like the lady, capable of handling any temperature!”

Weirafiya, being a purebred Phoenix of Flames, could withstand high temperatures quite well. To her, the temp of freshly brewed black tea felt like it was just lukewarm water—she drank it down as if it were nothing.

“Right! Oh, but just sitting here drinking tea is so boring. Don’t tea parties usually have some snacks? Aake, didn’t you buy some salty crackers last time? Bring them out!”

“Salty crackers? Did I ever buy those?”

Did I even get that? Aake couldn’t recall it at all!

“Of course you did! Remember when we passed by that place that sold crackers in Pield? We bought some salty ones there. You forgot? Try searching inside and see if you can find them.”

“I guess I’ll give it a shot and see if I can find some. There’s just too much stuff in here; I might not find them.”

Aake opened a wormhole and rummaged through it. After a bit of turning things upside down, he finally found the salty crackers hidden inside.

“Found them! But have they been in there for so long, can they still be eaten?”

Those crackers had been inside for at least half a month; whether they could still be consumed was a question.

“No problem! Crackers are quite durable. Plus, we haven’t opened them; it’s only been half a month. They should still be good. Let’s eat some together!”

Aierjisi opened the packaging and tossed a cracker into her mouth, chewing on it. It actually tasted quite decent. As far as crackers go, it was acceptable enough!
