Chapter 45: Easy Resolution
Watching Yake charge straight at him, the Giant didn’t hold back and swung his iron fist to attack.
“Oi-ra!”
Yake, too lazy to dodge, faced the Giant head-on, matching his fist with his own.
*Bang!*
The collision of fists echoed loudly. If Yake weren’t in a Fusion state, that punch might have shattered all five of his fingers! But alas, he was in Fusion mode.
*Crack…*
A small crack appeared in the Giant’s fist, extending and spreading, fracturing the entire body of the Giant.
Yake tested a bit of his strength, and the Giant that used to stand before him instantly shattered into a pile of rubble.
“I see, so this is your new power? Looks pretty good.”
Weirafiya nodded, observing the outcome Yake and the others had achieved. Taking down that Stone Giant in one hit was truly terrifying.
But why do such things? Is the only way to unleash new power to kiss your companions and fuse with them?
“How about that? Our new power, isn’t it absurdly strong?”
Yake casually picked up a piece of rubble and crushed it into powder, showcasing his current power.
“Mhm, indeed very powerful. No wonder you’re Yake and Miss Aierjisi. By the way, Yake, Miss Aierjisi, have you two fused?”
To confirm the situation, Yaser asked again.
“Yep, we’ve fused! How cool is that? With my current state, I’m unbeatable!”
“Mhm, very cool indeed, Yake. But, Miss Aierjisi is inside Yake’s body now; won’t she feel cramped? After all, only Yake can control the body, right?”
“Not to worry, while I control the body, using special abilities is what lets Aier take over.”
Yake explained his current state to the two.
“I see, well that’s fair. Yake handles the fighting, and Miss Aierjisi uses special abilities to support him. A very reasonable combat strategy.”
“Alright, enough showing off; let’s go, Yaser. Don’t forget we’re still on the move. We need to reach the God Palace’s entrance tonight. Off we go.”
Weirafiya ignored Yake and the others, leading the way up the stairs towards the mountaintop, with Yake and Yaser following behind.
“By the way, shouldn’t Miss Aierjisi and Yake undo their Fusion now? The enemy has already been dealt with.”
“No, Aier said that undoing the Fusion would heavily burden both our bodies. So we won’t undo it until we’ve resolved everything.”
Since there was no time limit on maintaining the Fusion, Aierjisi decided to stay fused until the issue was completely resolved.
Unfortunately, they didn’t run into any troublesome enemies on the way. Most creatures were scared off by Weirafiya’s intimidation, and the few remaining enemies were dealt with personally by Weirafiya. Yake’s Fusion didn’t even get a chance to shine.
Except for taking short breaks for food to regain stamina, they kept moving and finally arrived at the God Palace located at the mountaintop just as the sun was about to set.
“Alright, that’s enough for today. Let’s rest here for the night; we’ll head in tomorrow.”
“Why wait until tomorrow? We’re already at the entrance, can’t we go in today?”
Yake didn’t understand why they had to wait until tomorrow now that they were at the door. Couldn’t they just go in and stay in the God Palace? He and Aier had spent the night at the Moon God Palace just yesterday! Staying inside the God Palace at least provided shelter from the wind and rain, while camping outside meant sleeping in the wild.
“The inside of the God Palace is too dangerous; it’s better to wait until tomorrow.”
They had traveled all day; if they went in immediately, encountering enemies inside while lacking the energy to fight would not be wise. For safety’s sake, camping outside at the entrance was the most secure option.
“But…”
<Enough, just listen to Weirafiya here. She knows this area well; following her advice will be fine.>
Yake wanted to say more but was stopped by Aierjisi, obediently shutting his mouth and following Weirafiya’s arrangements. They set up a tent at the entrance of the God Palace.
“Um, do you guys have sleeping bags?”
Yake looked awkwardly at the two sleeping bags he had. He and Aierjisi had only packed these two sleeping bags, with no extras.
“Sorry, we didn’t prepare any either.”
Yaser also felt awkward; they always stayed in villages along the way and had never experienced sleeping in the wild, so they hadn’t made any preparations for it.
“Well, this is troublesome. We’re short one sleeping bag.”
“That’s no big deal; after all, Aierjisi and you are in one body, right? You can use one sleeping bag; I can share one with Yaser. We can squeeze in together.”
With her small frame, sharing a sleeping bag with Yaser shouldn’t be a problem. Of course, the downside would be that they both could only sleep on their sides, which wouldn’t be comfortable for either.
“Is that okay?”
Yake asked for Yaser’s opinion; if they were alright with it, then they would proceed with the plan.
“I have no objections. Let’s do it that way.”
“Alright then. Let’s go with that.”
Yake handed one of the sleeping bags to Yaser and went into the smaller tent to prepare for rest.
“Miss, we should get ready to rest too.”
“Mhm, I know. Although I think you probably don’t have the guts, I’ll still warn you, Yaser—if you dare to touch my body while I’m asleep, the consequences shouldn’t need further reminders, right?”
Weirafiya’s golden pupils turned red for a moment, warning Yaser that he better not do anything inappropriate.
“Yes, I understand. My lady, I’ve been serving you for quite a while; I clearly know what to do and what not to do. You can rest assured.”
“Hmph, as long as you understand. Now hurry and set up the sleeping bag. By the way, do you have any food? I’m a bit hungry.”
