Chapter 55: Where Did You Toss the Crystal?

Chapter 55: Where Did You Toss the Crystal?

Weirafiya and Yaser were experiencing a massive power boost. Together, they relentlessly pushed Gilbaris back.

“Ugh, this is such a hassle! Hah!”

Gilbaris launched a full-force attack at Weirafiya. With their newfound strength, there was no need to hold back anymore. It was time to defeat them outright!

“Ah!”

Weirafiya let out a scream as Gilbaris’s attack knocked her to the ground, immobilized.

“Milady!”

Seeing Weirafiya down again, Yaser rushed back to her side to protect her.

“Yaser! Kill me with your sword! Hurry!”

Weirafiya made a request that Yaser couldn’t comprehend at all.

“Why? Milady, why must I do this?”

“Don’t ask questions! Just do it, and you’ll understand soon enough.”

Weirafiya couldn’t be bothered to explain; there was simply no time for that. She just needed him to act and finish her off.

Though baffled, Yaser knew the lady must have her reasons. So, he raised the sword he had just wielded and aimed for Weirafiya’s head, bringing it down.

“What kind of operation is this?”

Yake, watching from the side, was left dumbfounded. What had just happened? Why did Yaser just swing his sword at his master? Had he lost his mind?

“Oh?”

Gilbaris was intrigued by this turn of events, eager to see what kind of trick Yaser was trying to pull.

With a swift motion, Yaser’s sword struck down, killing Weirafiya as she commanded.

Then, flames erupted around Weirafiya’s corpse, consuming it in fire.

In that blaze, what was supposed to be a burnt corpse suddenly began to move again, her wings stirring as she took to the skies once more.

“What is this? Milady! I finally understand why you asked me to kill you!”

Yaser watched the bizarre scene unfold and quickly realized Weirafiya’s reasoning.

He had read about it before. The Phoenix was a creature known for its ability to be reborn from ashes, growing stronger with each death. It seemed the young lady was no different.

“Exactly! Instead of doing nothing, killing myself allows me to fully revive. Now, Gilbaris, let’s continue this battle! I want to see how many lives I need to use to defeat you!”

Now that Weirafiya had learned the skill of rebirth, she had gained infinite lives. Defeating her in battle was going to be impossible now.

“Hmph. A phoenix that grows stronger with each death? Fighting you sounds like such a hassle. Sorry, but I’m not interested in that kind of trouble. I think this is where I take my leave. Goodbye!”

Gilbaris opened a Teleportation Gate behind him and vanished.

“Ugh, I thought he was going to be impressive, but it turns out to be this?”

Weirafiya didn’t pursue him. She understood the saying about not pursuing a cornered enemy; chasing after that guy named Gilbaris would yield no benefit.

“Milady, we did it! We successfully pushed back the Ultimate Life Form, relying solely on our own strength!”

“Yeah. At last, we have enough power to battle against them.”

Weirafiya felt exhilarated too. With her newfound strength, she would no longer be relentlessly hunted by those guys. This was too great!

“All right, all right, you two! How long do you plan to stay here? Ready to head out?”

Yake walked up to them, holding Aierjisi. Now that the matter was settled, there was no reason to linger. It was best to head back.

“Good point! It does feel a bit off lingering here. Let’s get going! Hop onto my back! And you over there, Yake, you’d better be grateful, you know? I usually won’t let anyone but Yaser ride on my back!”

“Sure, sure! I’ll be grateful! Now can we stop chatting and just head out already?”

Yake was done with all the small talk, picking up the Little Princess and leaping onto Weirafiya’s back. Together, they left the God Palace.

“Phew, finally out! By the way, what was the point of designing this place like this?”

As they exited, Yake couldn’t help but feel exasperated by the terrible design. If it weren’t for Weirafiya the Phoenix’s help, how would they have made it back to the entrance?

“I’m not sure. Perhaps it was designed to deter any ill-intentioned individuals?”

Weirafiya speculated, unsure why the design was like this. Most likely, it was to prevent people like Gilbaris from prying into the powers within. Otherwise, it made no sense for such a ridiculous design.

“Let’s hurry back. Yaser, take out the Teleportation Crystal! We need to prepare to leave!”

“Ah, right. Wait, what?”

Yaser patted himself down but couldn’t find the Teleportation Crystal he had on him, panic setting in.

“Hey, don’t give me that look! Don’t tell me you lost the Teleportation Crystal!”

“I’m really sorry, Milady! It’s just as you said; it was unintentional!”

“Are you kidding me? You can lose the Teleportation Crystal!? What kind of servant are you? A piece of char siu would be more useful than you!”

Weirafiya exploded with anger. Without the Teleportation Crystal, how could they return? The volcanic area was very far from Panimir to the north. If they had to fly back, it would take at least a month!

“I’m really, really sorry, Milady!”

“If saying sorry worked, why would we need Guards in this world!!!”

“Okay, enough! You two stop arguing! You may have lost your Teleportation Crystal, but we still have mine!”

Yake was tired of their antics and pulled out his Teleportation Crystal.

“Thank goodness you have one! I thought we might be stranded! Hurry, let’s teleport back!”

“Why the rush? We just fought a battle, and we’re exhausted! We should rest for a night and head back tomorrow; that’s fine too.”

Yake was dead tired and just wanted to lie down in his sleeping bag for a good night’s sleep. Although the situation deviated from their original plan, who cared? He just wanted some rest, and he’d deal with the rest once he woke up.
