Chapter 26: The Phoenix’s Feather
“Good grief, the Ultimate Life Forms that just cornered Aierjisi and the others are actually being dismissed by this guy as insignificant. Looks like this man is incredibly powerful.”
Considering he just sent Diablo and Titan retreating with a single blow, it’s clear he possesses immense strength.
“Although I know you all have many questions, let’s handle some important matters first. It’s better to save this man as our top priority.”
The man jumped down and approached Yaser.
“Save him? How do you plan to do that? His heart has been pierced! There’s no way to bring him back!”
Aierjisi looked at the man, doubting his ability to save Yaser. If it were her, it wouldn’t matter if her heart was pierced; her body’s healing capabilities would kick in immediately. But Yaser is a normal human—he lacks her incredible regenerative powers.
“Seems like you don’t know. This is how the Phoenix can be reborn.”
The man pulled out a feather he had just taken from Weirafiya and pressed it against Yaser’s heart. He muttered something as he ignited that feather.
“This… Could it be the legendary Resurrection Technique?”
Suddenly, Ailin remembered some stories she’d heard from Father King about the Phoenix.
It said that the feathers of the Phoenix have the ability to grant resurrection. Just insert a feather into the heart of the deceased and light it on fire. Once the feather burns out, the deceased can come back to life. However, this method only works on those who have been dead for less than 48 hours. Who would’ve thought she could witness this Resurrection Technique firsthand today?
“Exactly, this is what is known as the Resurrection Technique, but this is probably the first time for you to see it. The feather of the Phoenix has the power of rebirth. Now, let’s wrap it up for this man, the next part is up to you.”
“What are you planning to do to us?”
Aierjisi eyed the man warily. Just because he chased away Gilbaris doesn’t mean he’s their ally.
“Little Princess of the Blood Clan, don’t carry so much hostility toward me. If I intended to make a move against you, I would have done so long ago, not waiting until now.”
“Is that really the case? If you genuinely wanted to help, you would’ve acted sooner. Why did you wait until now?”
If that guy had acted earlier, they wouldn’t have been pushed to the brink. Weirafiya wouldn’t have gone berserk.
“Because I wanted to see your limits. I wanted to witness how far you could go. Without seeing that, I wouldn’t be able to decide whether to take you on as my disciples.”
“Hmph. You really have a twisted sense of fun.”
“Alright, alright. Aierjisi, that’s enough. Since he helped us drive away those annoying Ultimate Life Forms and revived Yaser, those actions alone are enough to prove he’s our ally. By the way, standing out here talking isn’t ideal; let’s head back to the palace and have a proper discussion.”
Ailin promptly interrupted their conversation, inviting the man into the Royal Palace to discuss the next steps.
“Truly deserving of being the Dragon Clan’s Little Princess, you clearly know how to handle things. Since you’ve put it that way, let’s head in and have a nice chat over some hot tea to warm up, shall we?”
“Of course! Let’s go inside!”
Ailin led the man into the palace, casually calling for the people inside to carry Gaia in as well, to clean up the mess outside.
“Are we going in too?”
“Of course! Otherwise, what are we going to do out here, freeze? Hurry up and let’s go in!”
Aierjisi and Yake followed in step as they returned to the palace.
Fortunately, the earlier battle hadn’t affected the inside of the palace, so it remained just as it was.
However, Gaia was now unconscious, so the palace staff had no choice but to follow Ailin’s orders. After all, she was their princess.
“Hmm. This tea is quite good.”
“I’m glad you like it. Can we start discussing serious matters now?”
“Of course! Let me cut to the chase: do you wish to make me your master? If you become my disciples, I can help you strengthen your powers. Although you might not be able to deal with those guys as easily as I do, it will definitely prevent you from being cornered like before.”
The man looked at the three of them.
“Absolutely! If it means becoming stronger, I’m in!”
Ailin immediately responded. As long as it could make her stronger and allow her to protect Gaia, she was willing to do anything.
“Good, I really like your answer. Now, what about you two? What do you plan to do?”
The man nodded and turned his gaze towards Aierjisi and Yake.
“If you haven’t deceived me, then I’m definitely willing. Continuing like this isn’t going to make us strong enough to win. If you can truly make us more powerful, we’re definitely on board, right?”
“Exactly! Please, allow us to grow stronger. We really need the power to defeat those pesky foes.”
“Alright. Since both of you are willing, I’ll take you on as disciples. As for what happens next, it will depend on whether that Phoenix agrees. If she’s on board, I’ll take you all with me.”
The man was satisfied with their responses, now he just had to wait for the others who were unconscious to wake up, check their opinions, and if they agreed, they could head out.
“I’ll excuse myself for now, but I’ll come back shortly. You all rest here and recuperate.”
Finishing his words, the man turned to leave.
“Ailin, are you sure it’s okay to agree to that guy so readily? We can’t even be sure he’s the one we’re looking for, right?”
Once the man vanished, Aierjisi quietly spoke to Ailin, feeling a bit distrustful of him.
“I think it should be fine. That man exudes a special aura. And just like he said, his power is indeed incredibly strong. If he really intended to harm us, he would’ve acted long ago, not waited until now.”
Ailin had considered the possibility of the man being an enemy, but since he had such powerful strength and chose not to attack them, it was highly likely he was an ally.
