Chapter 38: You’re Working Again, Could You Take a Break?

Chapter 38: You’re Working Again, Could You Take a Break?

Gaia’s injuries weren’t as serious as those of Weirafiya and Yaser; he was already at the level where he could move about normally. However, he still needed to take care to rest and not overexert himself.

Of course, even though that was said, this workaholic Gaia couldn’t rest easy with others managing the country’s affairs. He felt it was better to handle things himself.

“Gaia, you’re working again! Why don’t you take a break? Go get some sleep.”

Ailin opened the door, and as expected, Gaia was once again buried in paperwork inside the office. The doctor had even told him to rest properly, but he still slipped out to work whenever he thought no one was watching.

“I’m sorry, Ailin. I just can’t help but worry. I feel comfortable only when I’m here working, so I apologize.”

Gaia didn’t really plan to elaborate. He was the type who couldn’t rest easy lying in bed; he had to get up and work to feel secure.

“Even so, you need to pay attention to your health! Didn’t the doctor tell you not to overexert yourself? You could have let someone else handle the paperwork.”

“But I just can’t help but worry! I’m really very sorry.”

“Enough, enough! No need to apologize to me. You need to come back and rest properly. Look, I’ve brought your wheelchair!”

Ailin pushed the wheelchair that was by the door into the room, gesturing for Gaia to sit down.

“That’s unnecessary! My legs are fine now; I can walk normally!”

“Enough of that! Get in the chair; I’ll push you back to rest.”

Ailin was not in the mood for a debate, so she plopped him into the wheelchair and wheeled him away to their room. On the way, Gaia felt a bit embarrassed and kept insisting that Ailin put him down so he could walk back himself, but Ailin completely ignored him.

“Ailin, just let me down! I can go back by myself! My legs are perfectly fine!”

“Stop the nonsense! You have to rest well; I can’t let you waste any extra energy, understood?”

“It’s just a stroll back to our room; that won’t waste energy at all! I’ll recover quickly!”

“I don’t care! The doctor said you need to rest. I won’t let you waste your strength. Got it?”

As they bickered while heading back, Ailin spotted Aierjisi waiting outside their room.

“Aierjisi! What brings you to our door? Is there something you need?”

“Yeah, could I ask if you two have some time right now, or are you both busy with work?”

“Nope, we actually have plenty of time! I was just about to take this clueless idiot back to rest. This silly guy was told by the doctor to rest, yet he sneaked out to work—totally brainless!”

“Sorry for being such a fool, but the word ‘rest’ just doesn’t exist in my dictionary!”

“Then I’ll add ‘rest’ to your dictionary right now!”

Ailin and Gaia were still the same, cherishing each other while occasionally teasing one another.

“Alright, I came to find you two for something, not to watch your lovey-dovey act! Save the mushy stuff for when you’re alone.”

Aierjisi could hardly stand the relentless sparks flying from this couple. Sigh, when would her own oblivious partner be able to show affection like that?

“Fine, fine, let’s put that aside. What’s the matter?”

“How about some Mahjong? I just made a set, but Mahjong needs four people, and we only have three right now.”

“What? You made a set of Mahjong? Where is it? I want to see it!”

Ailin felt super excited upon learning Aierjisi had crafted a Mahjong set in this other world. She wanted to see what kind of Mahjong it was!

“Want to see it? If so, follow me, and let’s play a round together.”

“Great! Gaia, let’s go play Mahjong together!”

“Eh? Mahjong? What is that? Is it food?”

“You’ll find out when we get there. It’s a really fun game!”

“Really fun game?”

“Come on, you’ll see!”

Ailin pushed Gaia in the wheelchair, following Aierjisi to Weirafiya and Yaser’s room.

“Sorry to keep you both waiting! I brought another person with me.”

“It wasn’t too long. But wait, why did you bring two? Isn’t Mahjong supposed to be three short one?”

“No problem! Sometimes it’s okay to switch out players when you get tired. Now that we’re all here, let’s get started! Weirafiya, have you taught Yaser how to play Mahjong?”

“I’ve taught him, but whether he actually learned is up in the air.”

Weirafiya shrugged. During Aierjisi’s search, she had worked hard to teach Yaser how to play.

“No problem, I think I’ve got it. Sort of.”

Yaser’s response sounded uncertain; he wasn’t sure if he’d actually learned since he had never played before.

“Alright! You four can start the first round. Ailin, you’ll be in charge of teaching Gaia how to play Mahjong.”

“Leave it to me! I’ll definitely teach Gaia how to enjoy this! Come on, Gaia, I’ll show you how to play; it’s a blast!”

“Mm.”

Gaia nodded, maneuvering his wheelchair to the table, ready to learn from Ailin how to play Mahjong.
