〈 Chapter 1093 〉 Level 80
“Kang Myung-Jin. I’d like you to leave Federica’s punishment to me.”
“……”
Kang Myung-Jin closed his mouth. He furrowed his brow as if deep in thought.
I can guess what Kang Myung-Jin is thinking right now. Probably weighing the pros and cons, calculating what will bring him the most benefit.
“If we let Federica, the master of the Thorn Rose Legion, live, there could be backlash from various places. The mercenaries gathered here already wish for Federica’s death.”
“Mercenaries? Ignore them. Did you even include a clause in their contracts about cutting off Federica’s head?”
Mercenaries are just hired soldiers after all. In this world, mercenaries have no reason to oppose us or act hostile. They don’t have much influence anyway, and ultimately they move according to the logic of money. No legion has ever fallen because mercenaries criticized them.
“The mercenary contracts are standard. The important ones aren’t the mercenaries; it’s the legions that have cooperated with us. There are three legions total. What do they plan to do?”
“They’re easier to deal with than the mercenaries. Just divide up the territory that was under the control of the Thorn Rose Legion, and they’ll keep quiet on their own.”
I looked around. Most of them were mercenaries. This means the three legions mentioned by Kang Myung-Jin didn’t actively assist. While they may have helped during the surprise attack on the Thorn Rose Legion, it was nearly flawless. Federica and Santa Nuu barely managed to escape without putting up any real resistance.
With no losses, feeding them just enough will ensure they shut their mouths. They won’t want to unnecessarily provoke friction with the Aiflan Legion over something that’s already done.
“The reputation of the Aiflan Legion will decline.”
“When did we start caring about reputation?”
Kang Myung-Jin isn’t a good guy. He doesn’t move because it’s the right thing to do or because it’s just. If it benefits him, even if it’s wrong, he’ll act. A drop in the Aiflan Legion’s reputation? Kang Myung-Jin would gladly endure it if it brings him profit.
“You’ve endured suffering under enslavement, yet you’re analyzing the situation so coldly.”
Kang Myung-Jin sounded impressed.
Whatever he’s thinking, I haven’t suffered at all. On the contrary, I enjoyed myself while having sex with Federica.
“What exactly do we gain by leaving Federica’s punishment to you?”
“Federica’s alchemy. You saw it last time, right? Those potions she made. There’s one that temporarily turns people into werewolves and another that boosts stats ridiculously. You know how valuable those are.”
Kang Myung-Jin glanced at Federica. He must be slowly assessing her abilities and skills.
This morning, I talked with her and found out her unique traits and alchemy skill ranks.
Alchemy (S) and Unique Trait: Precision (S).
Precision (S) adds extra bonuses to every action, making it an upper-tier unique trait. It pairs perfectly with creation-based skills. The reason she became such an excellent alchemist was thanks to this unique trait.
“…What’s your opinion?”
Kang Myung-Jin asked Federica.
Federica, who had been sitting on the ground, stood up.
“I’m finished. Though choosing a clean death seems… I still have too many attachments to this world. I’ll do as you say if you spare my life.”
Federica boldly begged for her life while sneaking a glance at me.
As Kang Myung-Jin crossed his arms and pondered, complaints erupted from the mercenaries.
“What? You’re not really going to let her live, are you?”
“Shit. Are you kidding? I joined this just to see her die. Kill her now!”
“Hey, A-Plan Legion Master!”
“Whatever, just get it over with already.”
“Just shut up. Are we in a position to tell our employer what to do? We just need to get paid what was promised. Money’s all that matters.”
“Shit. It’s bastards like you that give mercenaries a bad name for only caring about money. Got it?”
“Still, if there were no money, none of us would be here. Don’t act high and mighty. If the employer said instead of killing her, they’d just not pay us, would you accept that?”
The mercenaries began chattering, making the atmosphere noisy. Kang Myeong-jin ignored them, paying no attention to their voices.
After a moment of silence, he made his judgment and looked at me.
“We cannot accept Federica as a member of the A-Plan Legion.”
“I get it. It’s a topic that’ll invite trouble from the members and others.”
“If you’re willing to take full responsibility for her as your personal slave… I suppose I can’t refuse given all you’ve done for the A-Plan Legion.”
“Feels kinda worth it after being worked like a dog for you guys.”
Kang Myeong-jin chuckled. The tension eased. Federica let out a sigh of relief. Being my slave is hundreds of times better than dying.
Some mercenaries voiced their complaints, but Kang Myeong-jin dismissed them. All they could do was grumble.
“Wasn’t your name Sung Yoo-jin? Let me offer some unsolicited advice.”
Dreimi, Federica’s former colleague and ruler of Sector 1471, approached me.
“Do I have to listen to this?”
“It’s about Federica. Don’t trust her too much, and don’t underestimate her either. She may look beautiful, but she’s a dangerous woman.”
“She might seem dangerous to you. I’ll judge her myself.”
“Arrogant words. You’ll regret them.”
I silently mocked him. Despite pretending to be proper, I could sense his greed and ill intentions toward Federica.
“I’ll handle it.”
That settled things.
The Thorn Rose Legion had held four sectors total.
The A-Plan Legion gained Sector 2910, the Mechanical Park. They gave up the City of Roses for it—a move others might call insane—but Kang Myeong-jin made the choice.
It will surely prove useful later.
Federica came to live outside the Gender of the A-Plan Legion. I wanted her to live inside, but both Kang Myeong-jin and the other legion members opposed it.
Her home doubled as a living space and an alchemy workshop. Every month, she had to supply high-quality potions to the A-Plan Legion.
Whenever I had free time, I visited her place. She always greeted me with a smile.
“You look well.”
“Living more leisurely than I expected is surprisingly good. Looking back, I was moving too fast before.”
I looked around the workshop. Various items were scattered about. A red potion on the table caught the light.
「Potion of Lifespan
Temporarily increases lifespan.
Incomplete.
Rank: F」
“Looks like it hasn’t been successful yet.”
“Needs improvement. This is just the beginning. Honestly, it’s quite difficult. Since lifespan is abstract, if this wasn’t Atlantis, I wouldn’t even be able to attempt it. But isn’t there a better way? If you’re worried about lifespan, seeking elixirs would be far more effective.”
“I’m not doing this for myself.”
Elena.
This potion is needed by Elena, who uses illusions powered by lifespan. It doesn’t restore used lifespan but increases the total lifespan.
‘Even with complete recovery, there’s still a limit to how much power can be used at once. For Elena to grow stronger, increasing her lifespan is the only way.’
After checking the potion, I moved closer to Federica. She opened her arms. I picked her up and headed familiarly toward the bedroom.
“Work hard on completing the Potion of Lifespan. Let me know if you need anything. Once it’s completed… you’ll become nobility.”
“Who would’ve thought the famous Illusionist would be so obsessed with lifespan.”
“It’s not obsession.”
I tossed Federica onto the bed.
“Kyaa!”
Federica let out a small scream. Her smile remained unchanged. Between her disheveled clothes, her pale white skin showed. I dove toward her.

“Hmm… hehehe…”
A foolish grin spread across my face. Even though I thought I was being an idiot, I couldn’t stop laughing.
How could one not laugh at this endless stream of notification windows?
“Hmph, just as I expected, there are plenty of rewards. Shall we take a slow look at them one by one?”

6.
This is my current game slot list. With this, I now have a total of six game slots and can select a new game world.
I’m still considering which world to choose.
Inventory. Also known as the item storage, it has now expanded to eight slots. While the number of slots doesn’t matter much when traveling between game worlds, even adding one more slot improves convenience and reduces annoying tasks.
“Hmm… next, Celestial Heart level has increased. It would’ve been better if Lightning had leveled up, consuming so many points…”
While sighing in regret, I checked the effects of Celestial Heart.
[Celestial Heart (天心) Lv.3
‣Celestial Heart (天心)
For 1 minute, physical abilities increase and become immune to status ailments.
Cooldown: 24 hours
‣Celestial Eye (天眼)
Senses sharpen.
Consume mana and spirit to activate and maintain Celestial Eye.
Effect increases upon opening Celestial Eye.
‣Celestial Fortune (天運)
Spend points to increase probability.]
A new effect, Celestial Fortune (天運), has appeared. This is a skill that consumes points.
“Probability increase? Can I really manipulate probabilities?”
It feels like I’ve gained an incredible ability.
“I can’t hold back. I must test this immediately.”
I extended my arm into the void.
“The probability that my fist will rise instead of falling!”
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activation conditions not met.]
“What about random draws? Can I use this on gacha pulls? Manipulate the probability of obtaining elixirs from random draws!”
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activation conditions not met.]
“Tsiiiii….”
Frowning, I tried using Celestial Fortune several more times.
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activation conditions not met.]
Then I realized…
There’s no way random draws wouldn’t be affected by probability manipulation. The only possibility is…
“Celestial Fortune (天運) isn’t fake… Does it simply not work on Game Life app-related things?”
The fragment of omniscience I obtained last time also didn’t work for questions related to the Game Life app.
“Let me test this another way.”
I opened a smartphone game I’ve been enjoying lately – a gacha game where you collect maiden characters. There’s a limited-time sale today. They’re selling a blue-haired woman wielding a katana with a facial mole – not really my type, but she’s still a girl character, so I’ll pull her anyway.
“Normally, I’d splash money to get her… but today is different.”
The probability of pulling this character is 0.7%. A reasonable chance to try out.
“With Celestial Fortune, it becomes even more worth trying.”
I could hack the system without spending real money, but where’s the fun or romance in that?
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activated. Increases probability by 10% for 1 point.]
“Only 1 point? I was expecting at least 10 points.”
[Available Points: 7,159]
I willingly spent 1 point.
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activated. Current probability is 10.7%.]
“How about testing if I can reach 100%?”
I spent additional points.
[Celestial Fortune (天運) activated. Current probability is 100%.]
I pressed the draw button.
The smartphone screen lit up brilliantly.
In a single draw, I obtained the desired character.
“A character that would normally cost tens of thousands of yen… Hmm. Come to think of it, I actually lost out by using 10 points.”
