<Chapter 1279> 1279. Pheromone Monster
Raitenryu (Thunder Heaven Style) Raiko (Thunder Light).
A crimson streak surges towards Chad’s massive body. The blade slashes through Chad’s rugged drake hide. Blood splattered, but the wound was far from fatal—underwhelming even.
“Haha. Doesn’t matter if you wear armor or not.”
Chad’s colossal right fist comes flying at me. I raise my left hand to block it. The sheer shockwave ripples outward, cracking the asphalt beneath us.
I gritted my teeth inside the helmet. If it weren’t for Stormbreaker, I’d have been sent flying by Chad’s strength alone.
While holding my ground, I focus my mind. In a manner similar to how my other self in ‘Dark Moon’ uses telekinesis, I magnetically control the four swords floating behind me.
The four swords soar upward into the air, spinning like predators waiting for the perfect moment before unleashing red lightning and plunging down toward Chad all at once.
The sword that targeted his back struck with a dull thud and bounced off. Drake skin is toughest on the back—it barely scratched him. However, the blades aimed at his left arm and thigh managed to pierce slightly. The final sword went for the neck but missed as Chad twisted his head away.
“…Is the neck his weak point?”
Chad flexed his muscles, forcing the embedded swords out of his arm and thigh.
“Commencing execution!”
He says this with glee.
His head begins to mutate. Like slime submerged underwater, its shape distorts, swelling larger until transforming into a drake head—a form strikingly similar to that of a carnivorous dinosaur. Its gaping maw opens wide, revealing jagged teeth so terrifying they might give nightmares even to kids who love dinosaurs.
[Using “Shunja” (Moment). Remaining stacks: 1]
I hastily retreat to evade Chad’s attack.
The four swords skitter across the ground, responding to my will by ascending back into the sky. Thunder roars throughout the heavens.
“Fall.”
The four swords transform into crimson bolts of lightning, crashing down simultaneously—not targeting Chad’s neck this time, but instead positioning themselves around him.
“Huh? What’s your trick?!”
Raitenryu (Thunder Heaven Style) Rai Mei (Thunder Roar).
The four swords resonate, encircling Chad while generating an intense electric current between them, gradually increasing the voltage.
Chad’s dino-head freezes solid. Is it instinct or intuition? Either way, he senses the danger emanating from the Rai Mei and attempts to dodge.
[Using “Acceleration.” Duration: 10 minutes. Remaining stacks: 0]
With the speed of a gale wind coupled with acceleration, I charge forward.
“Not so fast, reptile.”
“…I’ll admit you’ve got a hidden ace up your sleeve. But no matter how powerful your attack is, it’s useless if you can’t hit me.”
Just as he tries to sidestep, I make a blatant rush toward him. My target is Chad’s neck, baring my fangs as I counterattack.
“HA! You think you can knock me down?!”
I could see Na’s plan – he was trying to lure me in before making his escape. But he underestimated me. After fighting countless foes, I’ve learned to read my opponents like an open book. And let’s not forget the Stormbreaker armor I’m wearing – its defensive capabilities are unmatched, reducing even the mightiest blows to mere annoyances.
ZAPPPP! The four blades in my hands were resonating with electricity, each spark carving fresh wounds into my foe’s scaly hide. Even Drake’s vaunted durability was failing him now, his once-impenetrable skin beginning to char and blacken under the relentless assault. The storm of lightning was literally tearing him apart molecule by molecule.
Meanwhile, I stood unscathed. Thanks to my mastery over [Lightning] and the Thunderflow technique, electrical attacks are practically useless against me. While I don’t know exactly where my resistance ends, I do know it’s far beyond what this lizard-man can dish out.
The close-quarters combat continued. Chad’s bestial strikes were monstrous, each one threatening to shatter bones. My Stormbreaker armor groaned under the impact of his palm strikes, while shockwaves from his punches reverberated through my very bones.
Yet I endured.
After a minute-long exchange of blows, I remained standing – no falls, no fatal wounds.
ZAPPPP! Chad’s body was visibly deteriorating now, his blood sizzling into steam upon contact with the crimson lightning coursing through his veins.
“AAAAAARGH!”
With a horrific scream, Chad attempted to flee from the electrified vortex consuming him.
“Not a chance.”
Grabbing his tail, I prevented his escape. Weakened by the lightning, he lacked the strength to break free as I slammed him into the ground. As his monstrous form began to dissipate, I mounted him and unleashed a flurry of punches to his head.
POW! BAM!
After delivering several satisfying hits, I realized Brainstorm’s effects were nearing their limit, prompting me to step back.
The swirling red lightning compressed into a single point before detonating in a spectacular explosion.
A massive crater formed where we had fought. At its center, Chad had been utterly annihilated without leaving a trace.
Sighing, I turned away from the horrified New York citizens watching from afar and headed back to the hotel.
As if waiting for me, Jack Taylor stepped off the elevator. His neatly combed short brown hair complemented his imposing physique clad in a suit and gray coat, exuding a smart yet gentle demeanor.
“Pleasure to meet you, Jupiter. Though I cannot officially acknowledge it, Blue Cad has informed me of your assistance.”
“I understand.”
People may call me a dark hero, but I remain a criminal in the eyes of the law.
“Your contributions will not be forgotten.”
With that, Jack Taylor walked past me toward the awaiting spotlight outside. My job here was done. Avoiding cameras, I made my way to the emergency stairs and activated my dimensional travel scroll.
Sophia greeted me with a bittersweet expression. Her sadness stemmed from knowing our time together was drawing to an end.
“Thank you. Because of you, America’s future is secure.”
“Sophia, may I spend this night with you once more?”
“Well… when you put it like that…”
What followed was an intense session of battle sex.

I planned to use Information Erasure to vanish all traces of my presence before returning to Korea. Jupiter would cease to exist, allowing me to return to my normal life.
Naked in bed, Sophia and I watched Jack Taylor’s press conference on the computer monitor. The world had already connected the dots about Mayor Bush’s corruption through Jupiter’s actions. Having focused solely on criminals tied to Bush, Jupiter’s work was nearly complete…
It was the decisive blow that would take down Governor Bushy. And that blow? Jack Taylor’s about to unleash it.
-Everyone, listen up. Recently, Jupiter has killed eleven criminals and S-Rank Hunter Chad Robel. The eleven were heinous criminals, and Chad Robel was an S-Rank Hunter with questionable conduct. But none of them deserved to die at Jupiter’s hands. Jupiter is nothing more than a powerful criminal who disregarded law enforcement, treating the United States itself as irrelevant while imposing private sanctions. Jupiter is just a criminal.
The atmosphere froze solid.
Sophia, gripping the edge of the bed, trembled violently, and I glared at Jack Taylor on the monitor.
-We suspect that the eleven criminals killed by Jupiter were all connected to Governor Bushy, but is that really the truth? It’s merely speculation; there’s no evidence. Sophia Maverick’s articles? They’re all from years ago. Those articles didn’t reveal the truth but rather provided suspicion. I spoke directly with Sophia. I asked her if she had concrete evidence, and she said she didn’t.
“Aaaaah!”
Sophia screamed. Before she could throw a punch at the monitor, I lunged forward and embraced her tightly from behind.
“Calm down! Sophia!”
“How… how could this happen?! Jack Taylor…!!!”
-Ladies and gentlemen, I stake my name on this: Governor Bushy is innocent. All the so-called evidence floating around online linking Bushy to criminals are fabrications—embarrassing excuses for proof. Let me repeat: Governor Bushy is innocent.
Originally, this was where Jack Taylor should have condemned Bushy and presented evidence. Other politicians were supposed to support Taylor, marking the beginning of Governor Bushy’s downfall.
-Dear fellow citizens, including myself, the Shinmi Party supports Governor Bushy. He will make America even greater.
“It can’t be…”
Sophia’s strength drained away, leaving her dazed. I sat her down on the bed and began to think.
“Was Jack Taylor always on Bushy’s side?”
That doesn’t seem right. If Taylor had been on Bushy’s side from the start, there’d be no reason to use BlueCad.
‘What happened during his confinement in the hotel? Did he make a deal with Bushy… or was he threatened?’
Jack Taylor on the monitor didn’t look like someone being coerced. His eyes brimmed with conviction, and the same went for the other politicians following him.
‘Can people change this drastically overnight?’
Something came to mind.
Mind manipulation.
But these are American politicians. In the world’s greatest nation, wouldn’t American politicians protect themselves against such things?
Another thought crossed my mind.
Gwangwon Sect.
That remnant, Bill Haeton.
‘If Gwangwon Sect used powers from another world… it’s plausible.’
They were already known for their bizarre brainwashing techniques. Manipulating the minds of politicians wouldn’t be out of character.
‘The fact they specifically targeted American politicians instead of random brainwashing suggests there might be conditions involved.’
Gwangwon Sect.
Just thinking about them made my irritation skyrocket.
I got up from the bed and started getting dressed. Neither Bushy nor those Gwangwon bastards sit well with me. This situation can’t continue. I need to teach them a lesson so I can sleep soundly again.
“…Where are you going?”
“I’m going to finish off Bushy. We need to save America.”
“You mean kill Bushy? That’s impossible. The 30 bodyguards protecting him now are all A-Rank ability users.”
“I don’t plan to kill Bushy—it’s impossible as Sophia says—but there’s a way to get him out of the presidency. I’ll be back.”
