<Chapter 1332> 1332. Ghost Romance
“1. Exorcise the red mask.”
“2. Run away.”
“3. Beg the red mask for mercy.”
“1. Exorcise the red mask. V”
The moment I chose the option, I thought my body would move on its own. But there was no force compelling my body.
“I guess I’m supposed to fight on my own.”
Actually, this is better. System interference is just unpleasant. I gripped the exorcism rod and walked toward the red mask. When the red mask realized I wasn’t afraid at all, it suddenly reached into its coat and pulled out a kitchen knife.
“Keeeeeek!”
With an eerie scream, it charged toward me. I tightly gripped the exorcism rod and stood ready against the red mask.
“…The speed of the swinging arm is much faster than a human’s.”
An ordinary person would find it hard, no, impossible to respond to the red mask’s attacks. The arm swings too fast to even see.
But I don’t necessarily need to see the arm swing. Just by looking at the red mask’s gaze and the direction of its shoulders, I can predict which way it will swing.
Clang!
The exorcism rod clashed with the kitchen knife. It was the red mask that staggered. I put strength into the exorcism rod and knocked the knife aside.
I looked at the exorcism rod. Not a single scratch. With this thing, I could probably beat up any ghost.
“Keeeeeek!”
The red mask charged again. Once more, I predicted the attack direction by watching its gaze and shoulder movements.
“Aiming for the neck this time. This time, I’ll dodge instead of blocking.”
I bent my head. The red mask’s knife whooshed right above my head. I swung the exorcism rod high and smashed it down onto the red mask’s head.
“Pan! Pan! Pan!”
“Cough! Keeek! Choke!”
The red mask with the broken head stumbled around bleeding. Still, it kept swinging the knife at me. Its attacking instinct was impressive.
Even though its head was broken, maybe because of that, the trajectory of the knife became clear. I dodged the red mask’s attacks while continuously swinging the exorcism rod.
“Head! Shoulder! Waist! Thigh! Knee!”
Punch punch punch punch punch!
I gave it a thorough beating.
“Keeeeeek…”
The red mask dropped the knife and fell over. I climbed on top of the red mask and kept swinging the exorcism rod.
The red mask seemed to have lost the strength to move, only shaking its body intermittently. Just as I was about to finish it off… I noticed the curvaceous figure beneath the red mask.
Its face wasn’t my type, but the figure was decent. I stripped off its coat and clothes entirely. Beneath, its body resembled a corpse. Still, everything was there. Nipples and vagina included.
“The vagina is blue. Hmm. Should I penetrate or not?”
Yusemi, Jida-hye, Seol Ji-young.
There are three stunningly beautiful heroines. Should I waste my manhood on such an ugly ghost?
“I don’t have infinite stamina now… If I use it on this ugly woman and later run out of energy, I’d regret it.”
“Keeeeeek!”
The red mask wriggled like a fish, lifting its upper body. It opened its torn mouth wide and tried to bite my neck.
“But there’s no way I’d let that happen!”
Smack!
I delivered justice with the exorcism rod. The red mask’s jagged teeth fell out with a clatter.
“Arrogant wench. I was trying to end this nicely… and you dare attempt a sneak attack?”
“1. Finish off the red mask.”
“2. Spare the red mask.”
Suddenly, options appeared. I narrowed my eyes.
“I don’t understand why these options are showing up. Is it because I’m taking too long to finish it?”
The crowd’s probably not gonna like how this ends.
“I’m using Rule Breaker!”
『†You have used Rule Breaker.』
“Fatality!”
Pointing the exorcism staff toward the ceiling, I grabbed Red Mask’s right leg and hoisted it up.
“KYAAAAAAAAAA?!”
Naturally, Red Mask’s blue vagina split open. I spun the exorcism staff backward and slammed it down toward the vagina, instantly obliterating both it and the uterus. It’s kinda brutal, but that’s just how Fatalities work.
“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!”
Red Mask lets out a horrific scream. I withdraw the staff and stab it into Red Mask’s right eye, feeling the texture of the eyeball—and brain—being mashed to pieces.
『†You have executed Red Mask.』
『†Your cruelty is spreading among the ghosts.』
『†Red Mask curses you from Hell.』
『†This area’s ghostly energy has decreased.』
Red Mask vanishes. The red mask’s teeth that fell on the floor and the blood on the exorcism staff disappear as well, as if they never existed in the first place.
“Hoo. That was refreshing.”
I’d been stressed because things weren’t going my way for a while, but dealing with Red Mask relieved some of that tension.
“Next is… ”
I headed toward the warehouse next to the boiler room. The warehouse door was locked.
“In the original game, you need a key, but…”
This isn’t a game; it’s reality.
I smashed the warehouse window with the exorcism staff and broke in.
“There it is.”
What I found was a can of thinner. This could come in handy.
Carrying the thinner, I went to the 4th-floor men’s restroom. Since the 4th floor has art and science rooms, it’s usually deserted. I entered an unlocked science classroom. Grabbing a match, I returned to the restroom.
“4th-floor men’s restroom. The fourth stall at the farthest end…”
I entered the stall, locked the door, and stared at the toilet, waiting for a moment.
-Hh, hhhhhhhhhhhh.
A low, eerie laugh echoed. My neck tingled uncomfortably, so I rubbed it with my palm.
Clunk-clunk-clunk!
The toilet lid rattled and opened. Instead of water, there was a pitch-black void. Something non-human lurked within that darkness.
-Should I give red tissue or blue tissue?
Time stops.
『1. Request red tissue.』
『2. Request blue tissue.』
『3. Request white tissue.』
『4. Request bidet.』
『5. Request poop cleaning.』
『6. Give a present.』
Six options appeared.
‘This is exactly like the original.’
Asking for red tissue will get me torn apart. Blue tissue means drowning in toilet water. White tissue strips my intestines and blood.
Requesting the bidet pulls me into the toilet. Asking for poop cleaning summons an angry ghost who eats me alive.
‘In reality, meeting this thing already leads to a bad ending since all choices lead to death.’
In the original game, this ghost doesn’t significantly affect the story even if left alone.
‘But eliminating it will lower ghostly energy.’
『6. Give a present. V』
I opened the thinner can and poured its contents directly into the toilet bowl. Then I lit a matchstick and threw it in.
Whoosh!
The flaming toilet was complete.
-KYAAAAAAAHHHHH!
The ghost screams. I wiped my nose with my pinky finger while looking down at the fiercely burning toilet bowl.
『†You have executed the bathroom tissue ghost.』
『†Your cruelty is spreading among the ghosts.』
『†The bathroom tissue ghost curses you from Hell.』
『†This area’s ghostly energy has slightly decreased.』
I left the thinner in the restroom. They won’t be able to trace it back to me anyway. I avoided the CCTV and didn’t leave any evidence. Sure, I don’t have an alibi since I skipped school, but if the cops get involved, I’ll just deny it. Besides, the police in this world are incompetent.
I immediately headed to the science lab. Walking toward the human anatomy model standing at the back of the room—
The human anatomy model comes to life.
It’s a story famous enough that most people hear about it at least once in their lives.
Standing before the half-skeletal, half-visceral anatomy model—
Gurgle-gurgle.
The anatomy model…
It started moving on its own. The single eye of the ghastly creature rotated eerily as it stared at me.
“1. Exorcise the humanoid ghost.”
“2. Run away.”
The same options popped up like during the red mask incident.
Here, option 2—running away—is not a good choice. Ghosts are persistent; they’ll chase you all the way home. And in the original story, those who were chased home ended up dead. So there’s no choice but to fight and exorcise. Of course, if you know the method well, it’s extremely easy to banish them.
The proper way to exorcise a humanoid ghost is by bringing a full-length mirror. When the humanoid sees its own reflection in the dance studio’s mirror, it gets startled and vanishes. But I didn’t feel like going to fetch the mirror.
“1. Exorcise the humanoid ghost. V”
Creak… creak…
The humanoid figure began to move.
I raised my exorcism stick and smacked its head.
SMACK!
“Exorcise! Exorcise! BOOM! Exorcise-exorcise-boom-boom!!!”
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
I enthusiastically pummeled the humanoid ghost.
“†You have executed the humanoid ghost.”
“†Your cruelty has spread among the ghosts. They now fear you.”
“†Even in hell, the humanoid ghost trembles at your name.”
“†The local ghost energy has slightly decreased.”
4:44 PM.
Almost all students had gone home, leaving the school eerily quiet.
From the music room, piano notes resonated. It was Beethoven’s famous “Für Elise.”
“1. Confront the piano ghost.”
“2. Run away.”
“1. Confront the piano ghost. V”
I burst into the music room. There was no one inside. The piano played the tune by itself. Narrowing my eyes, I saw the blurry outline of a ghost sitting at the piano, glaring at me.
“You play piano terribly.”
BAM!
The ghost angrily pounded the keys.
With a serious expression, I told the piano ghost,
“Fail. Your performance lacks soul. No swagger.”
The ghost started playing again, as if trying to prove me wrong. A chilling wind blew from the piano.
I pulled out my smartphone and played a YouTube video of Korea’s top pianist performing “Für Elise.” The ghost hung its head after watching.
“Do you sense the difference in skill?”
“†You have instilled despair in the piano ghost.”
“†Your cruelty has spread among the ghosts. They now fear you.”
“†The piano ghost will never play again.”
“†The local ghost energy has slightly decreased.”
11:58 PM.
Instead of heading home, I stayed at school with Shin Oh-Jeong, fiddling with our smartphones in an empty classroom.
“Seong Yoo-Jin. It’s time. We need to prepare.”
“Ugh… why does this only work at midnight?! I wanna go home…”
Grumbling, I sat across from Shin Oh-Jeong, with a desk between us. Staring at the piglet-like face across from me wasn’t pleasant.
We placed a white sheet of paper on the desk and stood a pen upright on it, each holding it with one hand. Shin Oh-Jeong looked tense.
Midnight. 12:00 AM.
I began chanting the spell.
“Saba. Saba. Funsin Saba. Saba. Saba. Funsin Saba. Shit. Shit. Funsin shit.”
“Isn’t that spell… Wait?! Huh?!”
The pen trembled violently. An invisible hand covered ours. Shin Oh-Jeong turned pale.
Looking up at the ceiling, I saw a ghost with long black hair—a rotting face. I asked the ghost,
“Ghost sir/madam, what is your future?”
“…”
The ghost remained silent but moved its hand to write on the paper.
-I die after being hit by you.
“[Correct.]”
In an instant, I stood up and swung the exorcism stick in my righteous left hand at the ghost.
“†You have executed the Funsin Saba ghost.”
“†Your cruelty has spread among the ghosts. They now fear you.”
“†The Funsin Saba ghost’s arm is broken, so it can no longer write.”
“†The local ghost energy has decreased.”
