**<Chapter 1369> 1369. Spirit’s Atlantis**
“Hmph…”
Joo Seohyun stared in shock at the unicorn horn in her hand.
“Heheh. The unicorn horn suddenly glowing startled Ms. Seohyun, it seems. As I explained earlier, a unicorn horn shines when held by a virgin. It might be embarrassing for women to talk about this, but there’s nothing more reliable than a unicorn horn to prove purity.”
“U-Um, I see…”
Joo Seohyun fidgeted awkwardly while holding the unicorn horn.
Miriye, who was conducting the interview, took the unicorn horn from Joo Seohyun. The moment she touched it, the horn turned black again.
‘This deception is working perfectly.’
Using my unique ability Deception (SS), I fooled the unicorn horn’s function of detecting virgins. Whether pure or not, whenever Joo Seohyun, Yuria, Miri, or Elena touch it, the unicorn horn will glow.
“There’s no way Miriye can see through my Deception (SS).”
My unique ability Deception (SS) has surprisingly versatile uses.
Miriye continued the interview. She handed the unicorn horn to Miri and asked,
“Miri, aren’t you interested in romance?”
“Romance? Hmm… I used to find it intriguing, but now I want to focus on my idol career. Romance can wait until later.”
“Wow, you’re so confident! But romance isn’t something you can just do whenever you feel like it…”
“I trust my face and figure.”
“Fair enough, with that beauty, no man could possibly resist you.”
Miri proudly shook the unicorn horn, which shone brilliantly. Next, the unicorn horn was passed to Yuria. Naturally, it glowed in her hands as well.
“Fans think Yuria is the most mysterious member of Pobitz. They say you don’t seem human… Some even consider you a goddess. Are you really human?”
“Wow, if fans think that… it’s quite surprising. I’m human.”
“They’d believe you were a goddess, you know. What are your hobbies, Yuria?”
“Hobbies?”
Yuria glanced briefly at me and smiled softly.
“Not much to speak of, but if I had to say… maybe cooking? I enjoy making food for someone I care about. It means I take care of one of life’s essentials—food.”
“Ah… So you cook for the person you like… May I guess who that person is?”
“It’s too easy; there’s no point in guessing.”
“That’s true. Since Yuria lives with the other Pobitz members… surely they’re the ones eating your cooking. Members, how is Yuria’s cooking?”
Joo Seohyun, Miri, and Elena responded to the question.
“It’s delicious. Dangerously so…”
“Once you start, you can’t stop. Is it drugged or something? Hot, you didn’t actually put drugs in it, right?”
“I’ve tasted the cooking of a chef with royal kitchen credentials. Yuria’s cooking transcended that chef’s by miles.”
As their praises rained down, I quietly smacked my lips.
My palate, now accustomed to Yuria’s cooking, refuses to be satisfied with anything less. Most delicious foods feel mundane these days. Pizza or chicken—those stimulating dishes—are exceptions, though.
“Tia, please grab the unicorn horn.”
Without hesitation, Erena seized the unicorn’s horn. It sparkled brilliantly.
Come to think of it, maybe I didn’t need to step in after all. Erena has an illusion technique far superior to my own SS (sleight-of-hand).
“I am pure. I know nothing of men.”
Erena lied without batting an eyelid. Miline chuckled awkwardly at her words.
“You sure talk boldly. Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“Why should I be embarrassed when I’ve done nothing wrong? Surely, you’re not doubting my purity?”
“No, no way. With the unicorn horn glowing right before my eyes, how could I doubt it? Phew. Tia is tough to deal with.”
“Are you not going to ask about my hobbies?”
“I was about to. What are your hobbies?”
“Wine. Only a glass of grape nectar soothes my weary heart.”
“…I see. Let me check…the next question is….”
I turned my head to the side. There was a rustling near the window.
‘Paparazzi are sneaking photos.’
Miyuki suppressed a smirk.
Right now, the members are holding the unicorn horn. Meaning, the paparazzi are doing exactly what I intended.
By tonight at the latest, pictures of the members holding the unicorn horn will be out and sparking discussions.
‘Naturally, other idol girl groups will find themselves under scrutiny.’
Like the members of Pobitz, they’ll have to prove their purity. If they refuse? The stigma of being non-virgins will brand them, forcing them out of the entertainment industry. Refusing proof itself implies guilt.
‘Kukuku. More than half the girl groups will collapse, huh? It’d be great if Pink Love were among them. Then reaching the top would be effortless.’
After the interview ended, I took Pobitz to handle the next schedule.
This was “Music Kingdom,” where Pobitz debuted yesterday. TKT Broadcasting Corporation is idol-friendly, with over half its programs related to idols.
Today, Pobitz is set to appear on “Idol Show,” a program dedicated to idols. A program guaranteed to garner at least 30% ratings, there’s an unwritten rule that debut idols must appear on “Idol Show.”
This unwritten rule isn’t bad. The “Idol Show” program is idol-friendly, and there are no nasty rumors associated with it.
I watched Pobitz’s “Idol Show” filming alongside Samarra.
“Amazing. Usually, newly debuted idols are so tense they make tiny mistakes… but Pobitz doesn’t seem to have that issue.”
Samarra said.
“Well, Joo Seohyun is stiff from nerves.”
“It’s not enough to ruin the broadcast. If anything, Seohyun’s dignified image makes her relatable because she’s overly nervous.”
“That’s true.”
Seohyun usually exudes a strong older-sister vibe. You might call her intimidating. Ordinary people find it hard to approach her.
But watching her flustered by the MC’s questions now makes her seem more approachable somehow.
‘To be fair, talking to Seohyun in person isn’t as difficult as she seems… Or is that just me?’
The recording paused. No accident occurred; it was simply a break.
As Samarra and I headed toward Pobitz, a producer approached me.
“Director Sung. Do you have a moment?”
“Yes. It’s fine.”
I entered the conference room with the main PD.
“We’ll soon have to start filming again, so I’ll get straight to the point. We’d like Pobitz to appear next week as well.”
“Next week too?”
I looked at the main PD in surprise. This appearance was actually because Pobitz replaced an idol who was originally scheduled to appear, thanks to their agency’s influence. From the main PD’s perspective, this couldn’t be good.
“Yeah. While filming today, I became certain. Pobitz is going to be a huge hit. I want to run a Pobitz special and continue it until next week.”
“Not bad. Just don’t do any devilish editing, though.”
“Hahaha. We don’t do that kind of stuff!”
An average viewership rating of 30% for two consecutive weeks on the show—there wasn’t a single downside for Pobitz.
“Will today’s broadcast episode air in three days?”
“Yes. Please look forward to it. I promise we won’t disappoint you.”
“I trust you. But isn’t the schedule a bit tight? Don’t they usually film 2-3 weeks in advance on Earth?”
The variety shows in Zone 6,700 are different from those on Earth—they’re recorded and aired just 3-4 days beforehand.
“There’s nothing we can do about it. In Zone 6,700, speed is life. Falling behind even a little causes enormous losses. Still, variety shows are relatively better… dramas, on the other hand… ugh. That’s truly hell. By any chance, are there any members of Pobitz interested in acting?”
“Acting, huh? It’s not something they haven’t thought about.”
Yuria and Elena would probably do well if given a chance to act.
“To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you’re interested, please let me know. I have some connections in the drama world, so I could introduce them to you.”
“Haha. Thanks, that’d be great.”
After finishing the ‘Idol Show’ filming, I headed to another studio since we had two commercial shoots scheduled.
By the time we wrapped everything up, it was around 1 a.m.
I checked the side mirror and clicked my tongue. A white midsize car driven by paparazzi was stubbornly tailing us. They seemed determined to follow us all the way back to the dormitory.
‘This is annoying.’
Once we arrived at the dormitory, I ushered Pobitz inside first.
“Samarah, are you tired? Time to go home.”
“…Yes. Thank you for your hard work.”
“Would you like me to drop you off?”
“No, I’ll stay at a nearby motel tonight. Since I have a schedule starting at 5 a.m. tomorrow anyway…”
“Alright, do that.”
“Mr. PD… No, I’ll take my leave now.”
Samarah had already caught on to the relationship between me and Pobitz. It would be stranger if she didn’t notice after sticking around so much. Samarah is someone Lilith trusts enough for her discretion, so there’s no need to worry.
“The problem isn’t Samarah.”
I turned my head to the side. The white midsize car was still there. I drove out and parked at a suitable distance. When I returned to the dormitory, I saw the paparazzi carefully unpacking his equipment from the car. His camera gear looked expensive just at a glance.
‘A camera that looks like a space telescope?’
It was obvious what this paparazzi intended to do with that camera.
Stalking.
‘Overstepping boundaries.’
I approached the paparazzi with a cold smile as he pulled out his camera.
I grabbed the guy’s shoulder. He turned around. His face was covered in scruffy stubble.
“…Pobitz’s manager?”
“Uncle, you gotta know when to stop. Stop appropriately.”
I tightened my grip.
His expression instantly twisted in pain.
“Aaaaauuuuugh!”
“Shut up.”
Heavenly Demon Technique: Seal of Heaven
I pressed his pressure points. Now unable to move or speak, the guy could only desperately wiggle his eyeballs.
“You’ve crossed the line, so you gotta die.”
I shoved him into the driver’s seat.
I’d already decided how to kill him.
The guy would drive against traffic, crash into a car, and drown in the river along with his vehicle.
“Farewell.”
