The gangster leader snatched her phone.
“11?”
“You wanna call the cops?”
The gangster leader chuckled coldly.
Jiang Shuqin, trembling with fear, said, “I know I was wrong, I won’t cause any more trouble.”
The gangster leader kicked her stomach.
“Since you dared to call the cops, you gotta pay the price!” He chuckled coldly.
Jiang Shuqin clutched her stomach, feeling waves of excruciating pain.
“I’m pregnant. You can do whatever to me, but please don’t harm my child…” Jiang Shuqin cried in agony.
“Pregnant?”
“Hahahaha—”
The gangster leader laughed loudly, “Perfect, I haven’t tried beating up a pregnant woman yet, it must be a unique experience.”
A few gangsters surrounded her and started punching and kicking her stomach.
Jiang Shuqin bent over, covering her abdomen, trying to block their punches and kicks.
But it was futile.
Soon, fresh red blood flowed down from between her thighs.

The gangster leader chuckled coldly, stood up, and kicked Jiang Shuqin’s stomach again.
“What are you doing?” Lin Li rushed over from afar.

“Hey, another fearless one.” The gangster leader chuckled coldly.

The gangster leader spat out the grass in his mouth.
He applauded sarcastically, “What a touching mother-son bond.”

No worries about getting caught by the police either.
Such a profitable deal, he’d be an idiot not to take it.
“Since you’re so filial to your mom, let him take the beating for her,” the gangster leader said coldly.
“Li’er, run!” Jiang Shuqin bit her lip, using all her strength to push Lin Li away.

Soon, he fell to the ground, being punched and kicked mercilessly.
“Li’er, my Li’er!” Jiang Shuqin cried, crawling over, grabbing the gangster leader’s pants leg, pleading with a sorrowful look, “Please spare my son.”
“I beg you.”
The gangster leader replied nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets, “It’s his own fault for sticking his neck out. Don’t blame me.”
Before long, Lin Li’s face was bruised and swollen.
The gangster leader thought it was enough, “Alright, let’s go. Don’t kill anyone.”
After they left,
Lin Li stumbled to Jiang Shuqin’s side, “Mom, are you alright?”
Quickly, his gaze fell on Jiang Shuqin’s legs, his eyes widening, “Why is there so much blood?”
“Li’er, they kept hitting my stomach, maybe the baby is gone…” Jiang Shuqin sobbed.
She had been looking forward to this child for so long…
“Mom, the younger brother will be fine.” Lin Li said anxiously, “I’ll take you to the hospital right now.”
Lin Li carried Jiang Shuqin, placed her on the back seat of the car, and drove towards the hospital.
On the way, Jiang Shuqin fainted from the intense pain.

Everything today was his plan.
Including him getting beaten up.

When Lin Chang and Lin Qingwan arrived, they asked Lin Li some questions, but Lin Li remained silent, lost in thought.
The Lin family didn’t dare ask anymore.
The rescue ended.
A doctor walked out of the emergency room.
“How is she?” Lin Chang asked anxiously, “Is the child still alive?”
Lin Li clenched his fists tightly.
As expected, everyone was most concerned about the male fetus in Jiang Shuqin’s belly. Even Lin Chang, knowing he was his biological son, was no exception.

“The pregnant woman is fine, but the child…” The doctor shook his head at him.
Lin Chang staggered.

Mom was so eager for this child’s arrival. If she knew the baby was gone, how heartbroken would she be?
