Chapter 350 – Winds of the Capital (Seven)
He was increasingly convinced that it wasn’t trouble that liked to seek out his Young Master; it was simply the latter’s restless nature that stirred up chaos everywhere.
He thought for a moment and simply got up from his original spot, dragging the soft couch to a corner and settling back in.
Jiang Pengji was speechless and lowered her voice, “Why on earth did you drag the couch over?”
Xu Ke rolled his eyes and replied, “It’s more comfortable.”
The two shared a moment of silence, clearly surprised by each other’s eccentricities, realizing they had been blind to it before.
Xu Ke’s hearing was nowhere near as good as Jiang Pengji’s.
He had to press his ear against the wall just to catch the sounds from the other side, which gradually became clearer.
Although a gentleman should not eavesdrop, Xu Ke didn’t quite fit the strict definition of a gentleman.
His Young Master was openly listening; why should he hold back?
The soundproofing of this tea house was impressive; if not for the intentional loud voices, the two elegant rooms wouldn’t have picked up any noise at all.
As the sounds became distinct, Xu Ke heard a series of ear-scratching “mmms” and “ahhs,” along with some indistinct thumping.
Xu Ke: “…”
Had this been before the wedding, he might have pondered for a moment, but now, as a freshly licensed driver, everything clicked into place.
So… there were two fairies fighting it out next door, and up against the wall at that?
Xu Ke’s face went through a whirlwind of colors—red, green, white, and black—all mixing together like a spilled palette.
He cast a strange glance at his Young Master, who wore a seemingly interested expression, eyebrows slightly raised, clearly enjoying the show.
Xu Ke lowered his voice, “Non-gentlemanly behavior should not be heard!”
Jiang Pengji’s expression said it all; this guy clearly knew what was happening next door and was not in the dark at all.
“Shut up and don’t disturb me,” she waved her hand dismissively, brushing Xu Ke’s hand away.
Poor Xu Ke, he was once again pitied by the audience in the livestream, and his fan club even organized a flower and reward bombardment.
【Moonlit Crows】: I can’t take it anymore, I’m laughing so hard it hurts my stomach!!!
【Potato Beef Stew】: I laughed so hard I spat my cookies out, the streamer truly is a master of hilarity; poor Xu Ke looks like his lifespan has been cut by several years. I hope Yama has pity on him and gives him some longevity.
【Old Driver Alliance】: Listening to the “activities” next door with subordinates, streamer, you’re truly the king of trouble for the Lord; I just admire you.
【Zhuge the Musician】: A crowd just knowing to laugh, yet I find this scene oddly familiar.
Familiar?
The crowd was bewildered; was there really a similar scene?
Despite the livestream limit being raised to 150,000 viewers, it didn’t ease the challenge of finding a position.
Besides a few being criticized for “living in the signal tower,” it was incredibly tough for others to grab a spot in the livestreaming room.
Who could recall what the streamer’s daily life was like for the past few years? Suddenly mentioning “familiar” was quite the mystery.
However, the talent in the livestream room was indeed impressive, and some actually caught on.
【Old Driver Alliance】: Oh, I remember! The streamer once happened upon the Northern Border Princess and Wu Ma Jun “getting busy” in a fake mountain cave in the royal gardens, tsk tsk, I even have the recordings from back then. Not to mention, that Northern Border Princess really had quite the professional vocal range.
【Zhuge the Musician】: Correct!
Back then, the only audience was Jiang Pengji; now there was also a newly licensed driver—Xu Ke.
Jiang Pengji relied on her exceptional hearing to catch the sounds and dialogue from next door, while the livestream audience didn’t need to strain—their volume could easily expose the series of cat-like moans and gasps, along with indescribable thumping noises.
Xu Ke felt so embarrassed he could hardly sit still.
Seeing his reaction, Jiang Pengji shot him a glance and whispered, “Did you sit on a bug? Stop fidgeting and listen carefully.”
Xu Ke felt like his worldview shattered once again.
Jiang Pengji continued, “The folks next door are old acquaintances.”
She made a four with her fingers and did a gesture typical of the North.
Xu Ke understood instantly, his eyes wide, and without caring about anything else, he continued to listen to the commotion next door.
The two were quite lucky; the pair next door had already made quite a ruckus several times before, so this time around, things had calmed down to just voices and some heavy breathing.
“Fourth Brother, you’re truly ruthless.” Princess An Yina’s complexion showed the flush of spring, her body fully matured with curves, a thin sheen of sweat reflecting the heated aftermath, making it easy to guess how intense the earlier battle had been. “You’re about to marry your new wife, yet you still have time to meet with me like this. Don’t you think it’s a bit hard on the Fourth Prince’s wife?”
Wu Ma Jun pulled An Yina, his sister-in-law, who leaned toward him, while his other hand clasped her delicate finger as it poked his chest. He leaned in for a kiss, sneering, “That was merely a marriage for the sake of luring Changzhou’s governor, just a decoration. How could she compare to you? You are my heart and soul, my everything; she’s not even qualified to warm my bed. Are you jealous?”
An Yina caught her breath, trying to calm the lingering excitement in her body.
She brushed her clothes and tucked her hair behind her ear, saying, “You really are heartless; she is still your wife.”
“You’re still my sister-in-law.”
The implication was clear—if he was not a heartless man, how could he dare touch his own brother’s wife and maintain an affair for years on the side?
“But An Yina is special; for outsiders, I can be heartless, but you are the one I’ve designated as my wife, my blood relation, the one I will share the world with.” Wu Ma Jun’s brow furrowed slightly; no man wished for his woman to be the legitimate wife of another. “As for that Liu family concubine, do as you wish with her in the future.”
An Yina raised her eyebrow, leaning in closer, asking, “Can I turn her into a human pig?”
Xu Ke felt a chill run down his spine. He had already guessed the identities of the two next door and couldn’t help but glance at Jiang Pengji.
Yet, his Young Master was not angry; in fact, her expression remained unchanged, eerily calm.
“Human pig? Hehe…” Wu Ma Jun let out a sudden laugh, deep and rich, “Don’t even mention a human pig; even if you want to toss her into a basin of venomous creatures to be roasted… as long as it pleases you, anything goes.”
“You’re truly cruel,” Princess An Yina chuckled lightly.
“You’re cruel as well; if I’m shameless, I can’t just let you off easy.”
After saying that, Wu Ma Jun reached into her loose attire; it looked like they were about to tumble together again.
“Enough! You lecher! Every time you see me, it’s the same old business.” Princess An Yina playfully pushed him away and began to tidy herself up. “Although it’s quiet and safe here, we can’t be careless and expose ourselves. Your brother’s gaze is quite penetrating.”
Hearing mention of his brother, Wu Ma Jun’s face darkened a shade.
“Don’t worry, this is Lord Wang’s place; you know better than anyone that it’s been safe here for years.”
Wu Ma Jun and An Yina’s affair was known to Changshou Wang, not only was he aware, but he was the one providing them the perfect spot for their clandestine meetings.
“Why are you so naïve? Can you really trust your uncle?” An Yina teased, rolling her eyes at him, and instead of getting angry, Wu Ma Jun seemed a bit eager, the flames he’d previously suppressed flaring back up, “What if he spills?”
“Worry about what?” Wu Ma Jun scoffed, “After all, we’re both in the same boat; if we get caught, he won’t have it easy either.”
Though he put it that way, Princess An Yina wasn’t thinking that way, nor would Wu Ma Jun press the matter.
The two exchanged playful banter for a while, tidied up their clothing, and cleaned themselves in the secret room beside the elegant chamber.
After a while, apart from their flushed faces still showing a hint of spring, everything else had returned to normal.
