Three hundred meters… one hundred meters… twenty.
In what seemed like an instant, the monster flying in the sky was already right in front of us. The dead smoke crisscrossed in front of us, howling as it swept past our eyes and flew down into the streets of the city below. The monster’s claws grazed my chest, leaving a shallow wound on the armor. Sparks flew as I spun in the air once, and my left wing flapped violently, sending a gust of wind that pushed my body close to the monster’s head, mere inches away.
My raised right hand smashed down toward its head.

The violent explosion engulfed everything in my view. Amidst the swirling black flames, the intense impact and recoil sent me flying backward several dozen meters. With my wings spread wide to create resistance, I barely managed to stabilize myself in the air.

A smile crept onto my lips as I half-opened my eyes.
In the space ahead, the black flames from the explosion had blown away at least five meters of dead smoke and green smoke, scattering them. The monster was directly hit in the head by my full-force attack. Even though chaotic power couldn’t harm it, the terrifying shock and impact significantly affected it. The monster lost balance, its body swaying precariously for a moment but quickly stabilizing.

I closed my eyes again and flapped my flame wings, charging forward once more.
At this moment, my senses reached an unprecedented level. The dead smoke mist flowing in the air, the lingering sound of the monster’s cries, the rapid “whoosh” of its wings, the black flames surrounding me, and the wind rushing past my cheeks—all became exceptionally slow yet incredibly clear in my ears.

In a blink, I sensed that I was now above the monster. My tightly shut eyes could only see darkness, but faint red light pierced through my eyelids, faintly illuminating the dark.
Trying to make me fall into another illusion?

The monster’s angry scream, accompanied by the fierce wind, exploded beside me, and something continuously pierced through my armor and stabbed into my abdomen.
