Chapter 88 – Dark Demon Uninvolved in Karma
This punch was merciless, nearly spilling out all the anger he had been secretly harboring!
Scott had never suffered such a beating; his entire mind went blank instantly. He couldn’t use any magic cards, and the pain made him scream pitifully!
Robert still wouldn’t stop, lunging forward to push Scott to the ground, then straddling him and punching him in the face!
…
The costume on Scott’s face was torn, revealing his mouth and nose.
Robert tore it off with force, pulling it from bottom to top, finally revealing this person’s true face.
Being a second-year student at the Noble Academy, Robert hadn’t seen him before, but that didn’t stop him from landing a few more blows on that pimple-covered face.
Finally, when Scott was bruised and swollen, Robert’s anger subsided considerably.
He laughed loudly, feeling happier than ever since starting school.
Scott lay on the ground, breathing irregularly, tears and snot streaming down his face.
Wit watched from the side, eyes wide open. It was the first time he saw Robert actually fight.
After that day, Robert accidentally let slip that Scott had been tied up for a night, telling Wit, but he kept the part about turning into a woman hidden.
Only now did Wit connect the killer to the sect in the secret room.
Among those present, only he had seen Scott wearing the squid costume.
“What do we do next?” Wit asked.
Robert exhaled sharply and said harshly, “What else can we do? We’ll take him to Professor Shylph. I’m sure she’ll handle him properly!”
“No! No! No!”
Scott, pretending to be dead on the ground, screamed desperately, “Don’t send me to Professor Shylph! I’ll be expelled! And you guys will be confined too!”
Robert sneered, “Confined? I’m just taking revenge. How could I be confined?”
“No.”
But Wit suddenly interrupted, “Robert, what he said is right. You hit too hard. If Professor Shylph finds out, not only will you be confined, but you’ll also lose at least fifty points.”
Robert was stunned, then shouted, “That’s unfair!”
Wit shook his head, “It’s not unfair. Fighting is wrong by itself.”
Robert: “Then what about us?”
Wit pretended to consider, “We’ve already taken our revenge, haven’t we? He didn’t do much to you last time. Why don’t we just let it go?”
Robert: “But he—”
Wit: “Hmm?”
Robert’s expression fell, “Nothing.”
Wit continued, “Well, perhaps we should ask Dark. He was here just now. Eh, where’s Dark?”
…
Dark had long since withdrawn.
As for how Wit and Robert would deal with Scott, that was their own business.
However, Dark speculated that Wit wouldn’t want to bring Scott to Professor Shylph.
The flower cards, statues, and sects seemed to form a line, but upon closer inspection, there was an inexplicable twist to it.
Wit was already deeply involved.
When Dark realized the statue wasn’t anything good, he withdrew.
His main reason for not wanting to get involved was still Professor Kazel.
…
Anyone, when doing something, has a bias.
…
Night…
Scott, wearing a patched costume, limped into a secret room.
The sect members gathered around, unable to help but look at the stitches on his costume.
There were sixteen sect members in total. Apart from their leader, no one knew each other’s real identities.
From the moment he entered, Scott was no longer Scott, but Squid.
“So, what happened?”
The leader, Mr. Starfish, spoke.
Facing the leader’s questioning, Squid was ashamed to answer.
Mr. Starfish frowned, “I remember instructing you to observe and not act.”
Squid finally broke down, “I really didn’t start it!”
Mr. Starfish was puzzled, “Could it be that the son of the Valkyrie started it? He is a treasure in the eyes of the professors and the future star of St. Maryan. Would he start a fight?”
“Not them!” Squid cried, “It was the son of the hero and his lackeys! I just talked, and they attacked first!”
“Ah, why does it always involve the son of the hero?” Mr. Starfish felt a headache coming on.
Squid immediately passed the blame, “I was followed. The person we dealt with that night was the lackey of the son of the hero, named Robert Broheim. They found me!”
Mr. Starfish: “How did they find you?”
Squid: “I don’t know! I really don’t know! It’s not my fault!”
Mr. Starfish’s headache worsened, “Then how did you escape?”
Squid: “The son of the hero let me go.”
Mr. Starfish: “The son of the hero let you go?”
All the sea creatures looked at each other, utterly perplexed.
One of the eels, the only female member of the sect, Miss Eel, asked doubtfully, “So, is Dark Demon the one we’re looking for?”
Squid shook his head, “Although I was beaten, he shouldn’t be the one who destroyed the statue. The reason for collecting flower cards might just be personal preference.”
Miss Eel: “Then who is it? Could it be the son of the hero? Oh, what’s his name?”
Pufferfish: “It seems to be called White Gold?”
Starfish: “It’s Wit Gold.”
Pufferfish: “!”
Mr. Starfish sighed, “We can’t afford any more complications. We must repair the statue before the holy night. On All Saints’ Day, we will offer a live sacrifice to resurrect the goddess!”
…
Removing the costume, Squid turned back into Scott and cautiously sneaked into the common room of the Noble Academy.
But the person he wanted to avoid was sitting inside, drinking tea and reading the newspaper, accompanied by two shameless girls!
Scott turned sideways, trying to avoid being seen.
But Dark glanced up inadvertently, colliding with his gaze meant to confirm.
Scott suddenly tensed up.
Only when Dark continued reading the paper as if nothing had happened did he finally relax.
“It seems that during the day, Dark Demon indeed left first, so he didn’t see my true face under the costume.”
Scott quickly walked up the stairs.
The narrow space inside the stairs made him feel much better. He gently touched the bruise on his face, a sharp pain surged, increasing his hatred towards Robert and Wit!
“The leader said not to cause trouble before the holy night, but on the holy night itself…”
