Chapter 133 Victory in Unexpected Circumstances – Part 4000
“We haven’t lost yet.”
Just as everyone’s fighting spirit was waning, a clear and cold voice echoed, startling everyone. They all turned to look at the girl who spoke.
Yukinoshita Yukino kept her eyes fixed on the black-haired young man not far away, contemplating how she might approach him.
If she expressed a desire for close combat against Lin Qi, he surely wouldn’t refuse; however, she lacked confidence in being able to use “Ba” on Lin Qi in a close fight. Thus, someone needed to provide cover.
“Please help me get closer to Lin Qi. As long as I can touch him, I can inflict definite damage,” Yukinoshita Yukino said earnestly.
“Are you serious…? Well, let’s do it! To lose in such an unbecoming manner would be too embarrassing. I don’t want to be jeered at by that patch-eyed fool,” Hanzawa Maki shook her head and threw off any extraneous thoughts, “I entrust it to you!”
“Alright!” Itadori Yuuji mustered his strength and responded loudly.
“Yuuji, what are you agreeing about?” Hanzawa Maki gave him a kick in the rear.
“I’m talking to Senpai Yukino!”
“What?”
“Nothing…”
Itadori Yuuji squatted down with a pained expression.
“Hahahaha, this guy Yuuji is also a complete dunce,” Kugisaki Nobara said while firing off nails from her hammer towards the direction of Lin Qi, the sharp sounds like the war drums before a battle, reigniting the fight between them.
The nails were nailed around the grass at Lin Qi’s feet.
Lin Qi glanced at the nails around him before smirking and ducking slightly like an eagle swooping towards them.
Nobara continued releasing nails, pinning Lin Qi’s path ahead.
“Chulei Curse Technique · Hairpin!”
With Nobara’s cry falling, explosive cursions surged from the nails as if they had triggered landmines, spreading layers of power across the grass. The wind rose, and the grass was uprooted.
Moving hastily, Lin Qi was inevitably affected though the curses didn’t physically injure him but disrupted his balance.
Rumbling through the curse blast, a shadow enveloped him. He swiftly dodged aside, letting a giant panda’s large figure drop like a huge boulder and then throw a punch.
The fist hit Lin Qi’s unstable stance and pushed him back several meters.
Wielding the sanjyu-ken, Hanzawa Maki ran swiftly over his broad back and leaped high. The weapon struck down towards Lin Qi, only to be caught by his hand.
With a slight pull, Hanzawa Maki flew toward him and had no choice but to let go, surrendering her cursed tool.
“A beastly strength,” the ponytailed girl complained while closing in swiftly.
As a weapon, the sanjyu-ken becomes ineffective when used in close combat — initially, a front attack would give her an advantage…
But Hanzawa Maki did not expect that after taking away her weapon, Lin Qi would toss it skyward and calmly counterattack.
Dodging Itadori’s sliding tackle, he blocked Itadori’s leg sweep and grabbed Snow之下’s right hand from behind.
Lin Qi skillfully led Yukino, throwing her punch into a collision with the panda’s fist, allowing him to retreat.
To avoid injuring teammates, the panda redirected his blow into the ground, stirring up dust and creating a crater.
The attack pace broke.
When everyone returned to their senses, they found Lin Qi holding up both hands in a French salute, grinning at an annoyed Nobara.
“I surrender,” the orange-haired girl muttered discontentedly.
“Will it end with just Snow之下senpai left if we continue?” Even with the highest morale, Itadori forced a smile.
“Be careful, he’s coming again!” Just as Maki picked up the discarded sanjyu-ken, she noticed Lin Qi charging again.
Before completing his sentence, an outline of snow之下 appeared!
“Hold it, aren’t you supposed to cover me?” Hanzawa’s eyes widened in confusion but followed along.
“Oh?”
Lin Qi arched his eyebrows seeing Yukino迎上来.
In comparison to the techniques inscribed on Snow之下, her melee combat skills are rather weak. However, she initiated a charge toward him, understanding that combat is the only way to improve.
Facing direct attacks with measured defense, she adapted techniques to create opportunities, making swift progress under pressure.
Snow之下 approached Lin Qi, abruptly stopping mid-step and dodging aside.
Hanzawa Maki leaped over, swinging the sanjyu-ken towards the chest.
Just as he planned to re-grab it, he felt a blade array slicing through, jumped back to avoid the three-section stick and slash.
The blade cut through the ground deeply.
“Time to get serious. Let’s wrap this up.”
Saying so, he spun quickly and grabbed the panda’s fist effortlessly behind his back.
His momentum sent a powerful blow onto the panda’s head. The latter was stunned, flying away.
Following up, Lin Qi spun again, blocking simultaneous charges from Itadori and Hanzawa.
Despite the faint smile, he looked unfazed.
Pressure mounted on both, leading them to make mistakes and reveal openings. Lin Qi seized an opportune moment to block the attack and twisted to grab and counter Hanzawa’s fist, pushing her away with his knee.
“Ahhh!”
A sharp blow to his abdomen caused her to gasp, bending over.
Lin Qi elbowed Itadori in the back, slamming him to the ground, avoiding the sanjyu-ken strike and sweeping Hanzawa to the ground.
Standing, he stepped back to dodge Yukino’s palm, smiling smugly.
Snow之下 stared in shock as her hand barely missed a slight edge of his jacket.
Moments apart, now miles away.
Lin Qi raised his hand pointing at snow之下.
She clenched her lips in frustration but shut her eyes, accepting her fate.
“Snow之下!”
Nine yelled resolutely, his voice firm.
Snow之下’s eyes shot open.
Eight saw half of himself in the mirror, isolated like in another dimension.
“Forget about me, dead-eye brat.” His gaze shifted curiously.
One second later, the mirror shattered.
Snow之下, without warning, struck his chest with a charged blade, flowers of blood blooming on him.
Simultaneously Lin Qi’s finger flickered with energy, leaving a red mark.
Blood filled Snow之下’s eyes, retreating backward.
Distantly, exhausted Fushiguro Megumi collapsed. With his last strength, he said:
“This is my last curse energy. Take it, Snow之下…”
Afterwards, the dead-eyed teenager sprawled out exhausted.
“Won it…won it…”
Hanzawa whispered with blank eyes.
Unexpectedly, victory hinged on the lazy fellow.
No, Lin Qi’s mistake was also crucial.
Had he not relied on a low-grade head-punch joke, Hachiman could have controlled him slightly.
Laughing, Gojo mocked:
“You actually won, how hilarious. A funny defeat indeed.”
“Not bad. Seems Komachi’s urging paid off.”
Komachi sighed, seeing Hachiman’s brief glory fade:
“Such a loser brother remains a loser wherever he goes.”
Sitting cross-legged with a stomachache, Itadori complained about discrimination:
“Why are you harsh on us but just slap backs on Snow之下?”
Lin Qi grinned and waved a fist:
“You got an issue?”
“No Sir!” Itadori saluted energetically.
Snow之下 examined Lin Qi’s wounds, her clear voice soothing:
“Are you alright?”
“No problems,” Lin Qi waved off as his flesh mended instantaneously.
Back at the scene, the panda returned. Seeing everyone stop,
“Hey, did it end already?”
“No complaints,” Nobara shrugged.
Even without pride, there should be rewards.
“What reward should we ask?” Lin Qi pondered.
“That!”
Nobara and Itadori exchanged glances.
“Ginza’s kaiseki cuisine!”
“Sakagura’s Saitou sushi!”
In disagreement, they clashed playfully.
After waking伏黑 and狗卷棘, they voted to visit Sakagura, famous for its Saitou sushi.
“Poor bear, everyone dislikes me, yes?”
The bear drew circles aimlessly on the ground with a twig.
…
Arriving by car, the group entered a sumptuous sushi restaurant, attracting attention. Saitou, legendary among sushis, remained bookend on Japan’s best sushi restaurants despite difficulty booking. Somehow, Gojo secured a reservation easily.
“So why are you here?”
Lin Qi frowned at the white-haired man opposite him.
“Calm down, your help made it possible to book without hassle. Otherwise, it’d be difficult without me.”
“Wrong. Yukinoshita’s dad is a county councilor. How hard would it be to reserve a restaurant?” Lin Qi replied sharply. “I’ll pay.”
Gojo’s grin froze.
