Chapter 491: Taking Action
At the center of Tian Lin, the three brothers casting spells fell into deep thought.
Though their spells worked on most people, a single failure could gnaw at their minds.
This wasn’t their first time; it had happened three times already.
Three times, all against the same person.
It would be one thing if it were just one person, but this guy showed three different forms.
Immortal, Demon, and a mix of both.
And he mastered each ability, pushing them to their limits, utterly unstoppable.
The three even began to feel fear; what was once confidence now turned to apprehension.
“Who on earth is that kid?”
“Unclear, but his control over Immortal and Demon powers is extraordinarily formidable.”
“There simply isn’t anyone in reality who can deftly wield both Immortal and Demon powers. If there were, his reputation would definitely be known across the lands.”
As they discussed Lin Nuo, who had appeared in their dreams, they abandoned any thought of processing the collected Spirit Energy bubbles and solely focused on him.
After some time, they hadn’t come to any useful conclusions.
No matter how they speculated, it was pointless; their information on him was too scant, and it seemed that their plans and strengths were laid bare before him. As the saying goes, “Know thyself and know thy enemy,” but they had already lost.
“The Fierce Beasts have all been killed.”
Demon Cultivator Zhou Zi sensed something was wrong, saying:
“But we still have a lot of Spirit Power to collect, and many people haven’t died yet. We can’t just end it like this.”
“But our dream has been damaged, and the intensity of our spells has weakened. The remaining ones won’t be easily destroyed by just one dream.”
“Then let’s make our move directly. There aren’t many left with fighting capability; we have the advantage to wipe them out.”
The Dragonman Heng spoke up; the Sea Domain Dragon Clan was a race built for battle—hiding behind the scenes to cast spells felt lackluster. Better to engage directly.
“Alright, then let’s destroy the nearby towns while they’re still recovering and eliminate them all.”
They reached a consensus, planning to personally finish off the remaining group.
…
Lin Nuo was out late at night looking for wild game to roast, having caught a wild rabbit and a pigeon. He set up a grill by the river, gathering wood and stones to prepare for a good meal.
The ground was littered with leftover bones—a truly relaxing sight.
If only he had some Cool Water to go with it, enjoying the feast with a bottle of that would make for a heavenly experience.
But alas, he had run out; he only had himself to blame for drinking too quickly and not preparing enough before leaving.
Leaning against a nearby rock, Lin Nuo took a moment to rest.
Once he was done, he’d head back to sleep; taking a little stroll, enjoying his barbecue, put him in a good mood, and he should have sweet dreams after returning.
He hoped to have a comforting Meat Floss Cake and Cool Water, satisfying his cravings wasn’t a problem after decades of indulgence.
After sitting for a while, he decided to return.
Suddenly, a whirlwind appeared beneath his feet, and with a swoosh, he flew toward his residence.
Then he spotted flames erupting from the direction of the town, chaos reigning.
“What’s this?”
Despite the distance, he could vaguely sense the Spirit Energy emanating from the spells.
“Is there a fight?”
In an instant, Lin Nuo deduced that battle had broken out. With the flames blazing and smoke billowing, it was evident some sort of conflict was underway.
Determined to drive everyone out of the Tian Yuan Domain, Lin Nuo decided to check it out, hoping to swoop in during their fight and finish off the survivors.
With another swoosh, he was off like the wind.
…
Liu Shuqin was casting spells to calm the restless disciples, her magic’s intensity slightly diminished, improving their conditions.
“Thank you, Sister Liu! You’re truly skilled in healing magic, able to relieve us of the spell.”
“No, I merely helped you stabilize your minds. I don’t have the ability to remove such spells. Perhaps it’s just that the spell’s intensity has weakened, allowing my Spirit Technique to work.”
“Even so, it’s still your credit, Sister Liu. You shouldn’t be so humble.”
“Ah, please don’t say that. I’ve only done a small thing. The real heavy lifting is done by someone else.”
Liu Shuqin sighed lightly, pondering that it must have been Lin Nuo disturbing the array to weaken the spell’s effects.
“Could it be that we’ve encountered a great person helping us?” a disciple wondered.
With deep meaning, Liu Shuqin replied:
“Our safety is merely thanks to someone carrying the weight for us. Though they work in silence, I won’t reveal who they are. We should be grateful, and gratitude doesn’t always need to be expressed face-to-face. Their true intention is to promote justice, aiding the weak against the strong. To show gratitude, we simply need to emulate them, becoming stronger ourselves and one day becoming pillars against evil.”
Just then, explosive sounds echoed outside, once again tightening Liu Shuqin’s nerves.
“Sister Liu, what’s happening?” a disciple asked.
“Previously there were Fierce Beasts attacking, but they’ve been eliminated. Now, another disturbance has arisen; it must be more Fierce Beasts. You all rest well; I’ll go take a look.”
Standing up, Liu Shuqin took her sword and headed for the door, bumping into Elder Yuan.
“Elder Yuan, what brings you here?”
“Enemies are approaching; I must drive them away.”
“But how is your condition?”
“Much better now; I’m fine. You don’t need to worry.”
Elder Yuan responded confidently and swiftly headed outside towards the source of the explosions.
Although he claimed to be fine, those harsh words still lingered in his mind, and this spell was quite taxing on him; he wouldn’t recover right away.
But since there was trouble in the town, he naturally sprinted toward it.
They quickly reached the battlefield, discovering massive Fierce Beasts, and three unknown individuals wreaking havoc among the cultivators and priests.
Their momentum was fierce, and with the cultivators in poor form, they were no match. One by one, they fell, their Spirit Energy transforming into orbs, which the attackers eagerly collected.
“You scoundrels! Don’t get cocky!”
Elder Yuan shouted, quickly drawing out his large brush to depict the outlines of a Magic Array, launching a fierce Spirit Technique at the enemies.
But in his weakened state, he was soon reduced to nothing.
“Old man, maybe you should save yourself from embarrassment with that level of skill.”
The Dragonman Heng roared, continuing his charge toward Elder Yuan. The elder engaged him in combat, but found himself at a disadvantage, taking two hits and spitting out blood.
“Elder Yuan, be careful!”
Liu Shuqin rushed to shield Elder Yuan, pulling him back and healing him, but the Dragonman’s fists were mightily strong, and his injuries wouldn’t heal quickly.
The Dragonman was incredibly powerful, and Elder Yuan, currently in poor condition, was simply no match for him as he fell back step by step.
The battle raged on fiercely, and just then, Lin Nuo happened to arrive at the scene.
He looked at the chaotic scene unfolding before him, his heart leaping with joy. Good, let them all fight; the more they die, the better.
But the situation wasn’t optimistic; it was a one-sided crush. This wasn’t a fair fight; if these cultivators were wiped out, what would be left of the place for Lin Nuo to report back?
Would this useless land even be suitable for Helong Hall to farm?
Who were these three, so powerful?
As Lin Nuo gazed, he remembered the dream of Qin Shili.
Didn’t these three look like those three pathetic chickens?
“Turns out you were here; I was just trying to reach you.”
In an instant, Lin Nuo heard a familiar feminine voice and turned to see a dazzling figure with silvery-white hair.
