Chapter 7: A Bright Future
“But as a maid, you still need to receive some discipline…”
Roy was pondering how to replace whipping with a gentler form of discipline when, unexpectedly, Alice suddenly stood up with a look of determination, as if she had made a crucial decision.
In her light blue eyes flickered the resolute courage of a hero ready to face death!
“Master, you don’t need to say any more; Alice understands!”
“You understand?”
“That’s right!”
Alice lowered her eyes and took a deep breath.
“Alice doesn’t deserve to receive your kindness, so it’s time to repay you now.”
Roy could hardly believe his ears.
Happiness came too suddenly.
Should he say she’s truly a little angel? She actually got his point!
Although he wanted to nurture Alice, they had known each other for less than a day, no, not even two hours.
She’s ready to repay him already?
“Is that really a good idea?” Roy scratched his cheek awkwardly.
He was touched by the little angel’s goodwill, but Alice was still undeveloped and had nothing to repay him with.
Well, if he had to say, there was something.
Roy’s gaze subtly landed on the exposed skin of the girl.
The nightgown was too loose.
The neck, the arms, the legs.
In the dim candlelight, her slightly damp skin glowed a tempting rosy hue, as if she were a honey cake—so delicate, so appetizing, radiating an alluring and guilty charm!
Roy barely swallowed back his drool.
Then, out of nowhere, Alice suddenly tiptoed over.
“Master, please don’t be concerned.”
“Alice is your property, so it’s only natural for me to repay you with the most precious thing.”
Roy suddenly couldn’t keep up: “Wait, wait, what are you saying…?”
“Please, Master, discipline Alice well!”
Roy never imagined that as soon as the words left her mouth, Alice would unravel the sash of her nightgown, shut her eyes, and throw herself at him like a moth to a flame!
Only then did he understand why Alice had looked so determined earlier.
As their bodies were about to have an impure contact, Roy swiftly grabbed that fluffy blonde little head and shouted, “Alice, stop!”
“Master, please don’t dislike! Even though I have no experience, I understand everything!” the girl said while pushing forward like a little dog wanting to be close to its owner!
Roy was nearly spitting blood.
Little sister, what do you know? You know nothing!
“You don’t understand at all! This is all a misunderstanding!”
“Alice understands! Choco and Vanilla said that for those kinds of things, you just need to get naked and the rest is…”
“I told you it’s a misunderstanding!!!”
His furious roar echoed through the night.
Finally, Alice stopped moving, her expression a mix of confusion and shock as she slowly raised her head.
“Misunderstanding…?”
“When did I ever say I wanted to have relations with you?!”
Alice paused for a moment, and then a visible blush climbed from her neck, covering her entire face in a deep crimson.
“Mas-master, I… didn’t mean to…”
“Just put your clothes back on for now,” Roy awkwardly averted his gaze and kindly reminded her.
The nightgown barely clung to her, and the sight of her budding white chest left him unsure where to look.
“I’m sorry!”
Alice jolted as if shocked, quickly wrapping herself tightly, hugging her knees and burying her burning face between them, curling up into a little ball on the bed.
It was all just a misunderstanding.
What on earth did she just do to her master?!
Alice just wanted to live in a different world right now.
—
After ten minutes, Roy finally managed to get the whole story from the stammering Alice and was left speechless.
He wanted to shout, “I’m Roy Ainbrad, am I the kind of scumbag who bullies girls?!” But remembering the notorious name of ‘Bad Boy Roy,’ he obediently kept his mouth shut.
Meanwhile, the poor blonde girl still had some lingering blush on her face, filled with shame.
“I’m sorry, Master.”
“I should have devoted myself to you, but instead, I’ve caused you trouble,” Alice’s voice was soft, like a gentle whisper in the evening breeze, her eyes filled with sadness.
“You don’t need to apologize.”
“But Master is so good to me, yet I…”
Alice couldn’t finish her sentence.
Maybe Roy Brad wasn’t a good person.
But she didn’t care.
She only knew that the few hours spent with Roy were the happiest moments in her life.
If she didn’t even need her body, what else could she repay him with?
What qualification did she have to stay by his side?
In her short life of over a decade, she had never encountered a single good thing.
Not once.
Alice had long gotten used to such a fate.
She had long been accustomed to… indeed.
Being beaten, scolded, humiliated, trapped in darkness.
But fate was so cruel.
Just when she caught a glimpse of a little light, it was taken from her in an instant.
At that moment, Roy’s voice cut through her thoughts again.
“I told you, you don’t need to apologize.”
“But I have to repay my master… otherwise, I…”
Her voice grew softer, gradually fading into the overwhelming darkness.
Only her light blue eyes were filled with endless sorrow.
Roy looked at the tears welling up in her eyes and sighed.
Even at this moment, Alice silently shed tears, deeply suppressing all her sadness, as if afraid of annoying her master.
If it were anyone else, they would never understand Alice’s pain.
But Roy understood.
In “Angel Waltz,” the one he understood the most wasn’t those ‘target characters,’ but Alice, the ‘main character.’
Because she had suffered so deeply from a young age, Alice had never dared to expect kindness from others.
She didn’t understand the warmth of human feelings; her life was only complete coldness.
So she didn’t dare to believe in her own tenderness.
“Of course, you should repay me,” Roy said softly.
The girl flinched, silently lowering her head.
If even the most precious thing a girl had wasn’t needed, she didn’t know what else she could use to repay him.
“But not right now.”
“Huh?”
Roy gently placed his hand on her fluffy blonde hair, painting the future he hoped for.
“When did I say you needed to repay me right now?”
Alice’s eyes widened slightly, her tone wavering for the first time: “Does that mean I can stay by Master’s side?”
“Of course. You are my maid.”
Under the bright moonlight, the boy’s smile reflected deeply in her light blue eyes.
“Really?” The girl’s voice trembled slightly.
“Even if I look plain and have no skills, a completely ordinary me who can’t repay you at all, can still stay by your side?”
As if to comfort her unease, Roy gently stroked the girl’s hair, outlining the future he envisioned.
“Of course.”
“Even if you can’t repay me right now, that’s okay.”
Roy had witnessed Alice’s fate in “Angel Waltz.”
No one understood Alice’s strength, kindness, future achievements, and pure heart more than he did.
No one understood better that this girl deserved happiness.
It just needed a bit of time.
And this time, he wouldn’t just witness it.
“I can wait.”
“I can wait for you to grow, to become stronger, to become smarter, to become prettier, to gain a bit more confidence, and to become the elegant lady your name suggests. When that time comes, you can repay me then.”
Looking at the boy before her, Alice found herself catching a glimpse of that future he spoke of.
Warm, bright, beautiful, too good to be true.
In her short life of over a decade, she had never encountered a single good thing.
But now, she had finally met her destined master.
She had finally grasped the only light in the darkness.
In a daze, the loneliness and sadness she had suppressed for many years turned into tears, gushing forth uncontrollably.
“Hey, don’t cry! Did I say something wrong?” Roy was startled, thinking he had messed up.
But the girl shook her head repeatedly.
“Master did nothing wrong.”
“How strange, the tears just won’t stop…” The more Alice wiped, the more painful her eyes felt.
Roy helplessly smiled, reaching out to wipe away her tears, then gently pulling her into his embrace.
“It’s okay, cry.”
“I will always be here for you.”
Until the candlelight dwindled and the moonlight faded, Alice’s sobs settled into silence.
Roy didn’t let go.
The two snuggled together, sinking into a peaceful slumber.
In the dream, Roy saw a bright future.
It was a church filled with sunshine and flowers.
Alice, just like in “Angel Waltz,” had her magnificent golden hair unfurling, pure white wings stretching out, becoming a sacred angel amid the crowd.
However, Alice’s dream was slightly different.
She also saw herself become an angel, but not alone.
Roy was right beside her.
She shyly nestled into Roy’s embrace, and this time, Roy didn’t refuse.
