Chapter 33: Sorry, You Know?
Roy was in a panic.
The 【Charming】 spell reveals the most genuine desires within a person’s heart, and after seeing Leanna’s true longings, he finally realized a bizarre possibility.
Maybe, just maybe, he had really misunderstood her!
If Leanna had ill intentions towards him, it should have shown in the illusion, just like that necromancer had crushed him in the dream before.
Thinking it over, Leanna really hadn’t done anything to him; at most, it was just harassment, not hostility.
Roy finally understood why he couldn’t comprehend why she would want to hurt him, why he couldn’t see through her schemes, and why he felt a twinge of guilt when he had her by the neck.
If before, he had a ninety-nine percent chance of guessing that Leanna wasn’t up to any good and was trying to use him, now he was one thousand percent convinced that it was all just a misunderstanding!
What if there was a chance that she really just wanted to make a friend and form an alliance?!
But he had jumped to the conclusion that she was a villain, influenced by the tragic end of the ‘bad boy Roy’ in the original story!
However, after realizing this, Roy’s expression only darkened further.
Just think about it: a girl who took the initiative to be nice got her warm feelings slapped away coldly—and not just coldness, but nearly choking her!
The real villain here was himself!
Looking at Leanna, who had her head down, hidden under disheveled hair, her shadowy face unreadable, Roy had lost all his previous fury and was even afraid of hurting her, not daring to exert even a bit of force.
Roy wished he could turn back time and slap himself.
Even if Leanna had wanted to be friendly before, after this debacle where she nearly got choked to death, she’d probably see him as an enemy now!
Especially since the illusion indicated that Leanna seemed to have a tragic past and a rather dark personality. After finally extending a kind hand to someone, she almost got killed! Forget being angry; she’d probably lose her yearning for beauty and could go dark enough to want to destroy the world!
With that thought, Roy hurriedly pulled up the panel to check Leanna’s affection level.
But before he could even see the numbers, the office door suddenly made a noise.
In that instant, Roy froze.
It must have been the extraordinary fluctuations from earlier that alerted the student council members outside.
If they saw him roughing up Leanna, there would be no escaping the conflict with the student council and the dark magic faction.
But just as Roy was at a loss, Leanna suddenly moved.
“Don’t move, leave it to me.”
At Leanna’s whisper, Roy gave up resisting and was pushed down onto the desk.
Then he was dumbfounded.
Leanna entirely unceremoniously straddled him, one hand gripping his hand to press it against her delicate neck while the other roughly tore at her neatly arranged clothing.
With her red lips slightly parted, she let out a long moan that was a bit overdone but enough to make anyone weak at the knees.
And that wasn’t all; she even leaned down closer to him!
Terrified of touching her soft, sensual body, Roy literally couldn’t move!
“President, about that extraordinary fluctuation…?!”
Kreya hadn’t planned on interrupting the two inside, but that sudden burst of extraordinary energy was impossible to overlook.
Worried they might come to blows, she quickly poked her head in from outside to check the situation, only to stumble upon the scene of her president straddling Roy, instantly turning beet red and unable to say a word.
They were definitely getting physical, but this kind of physicality was something she couldn’t involve herself in!
“Kreya, what’s going on?!”
“No, wait, I suggest you don’t…”
Before Kreya could put out a hand to stop it, Alice followed closely behind, slipping through the door gap.
The sight of a young boy and girl lost in each other’s embrace under the dim light was deeply etched in her light blue eyes.
Alice’s pupils contracted, and for a moment, she forget to breathe.
“You two, continue, we won’t disturb you!”
Kreya shouted in panic and hurriedly pulled Alice out.
Once the door was shut again, Kreya let out a long breath and tried to process what she had just seen.
She had to admit that she had underestimated her president’s abilities.
With her cheeks hot, Kreya covered her eyes and couldn’t help but mumble, “How many times have they met? Shouldn’t dating start with holding hands, then kissing, and finally getting all shy? They’re moving way too fast! So, so shameless…”
Mid-sentence, she realized Alice was still beside her and quickly zipped her mouth.
But the blonde girl was staring vacantly at the empty door, as if she had lost her soul like a wooden puppet.
At this moment, even Kreya could see how heartbroken she was.
Honestly, she was really afraid this blonde girl would bust through the door any second, sword drawn.
“Alice, don’t think too much…”
“It’s fine, Alice doesn’t mind.”
The blonde girl hung her head, staring at that door, gazing for a long while, then slowly closed her eyes.
“Alice doesn’t mind…”
Her whisper, as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, faded into the wind.
Kreya stared blankly at Alice, who looked like a little abandoned puppy, pitiful and forlorn, and all her thoughts boiled down to that short four-word phrase as she shook her head and sighed.
What a messy circle.
————————
In the student council president’s office, after confirming there was no more commotion outside, Roy finally sighed in relief.
He looked at the stunning face so close to him and for the first time found it not so repulsive.
Beneath her messy hair were long eyelashes, a pale face, cold sweat, panting lips, and eyes shimmering with a peculiar charm which were far from her usual composed demeanor; instead, they appeared disheveled, lost, and inexplicably stirring.
Roy uncomfortably looked away and murmured, “So, can I get down now?”
“Hmm? Is the junior shy?” Leanna seemed unfazed, just raising an eyebrow slightly.
“You…”
As Roy was about to raise his voice, he caught sight of the shocking bruises he left on her delicate neck, and lost all his intimidation, finally just sighing weakly.
“Thanks for the help, but there’s really no need to cling on any longer, right?”
“Such a pity, though. It’s not every day that Roy doesn’t resist; I wanted to play a little longer.”
Leanna smiled sweetly, sounding reluctant, but she obediently got up and distanced herself.
Then, she covered her throat and started coughing, weakly curling her legs and leaning against the window as she sat on the floor.
Seeing her face even paler in the dark, Roy couldn’t help but feel more guilty.
Honestly, she could have just done nothing and let that scene play out.
In terms of reputation, being the student council president, Leanna was the superior one, and in public opinion, girls generally held the upper hand in such matters.
Considering the weight of ‘bad boy Roy,’ the accusation of attacking a senior once it spread would be enough to ruin him.
He had repeatedly misunderstood her, yet Leanna had helped hide it all.
Roy was at a loss for what to say, and just then, Leanna looked over at him.
“So, I didn’t lie to you, right?”
Roy was a little scared to meet her eyes.
Was it disappointment, anger, or hatred? No matter how she felt, at that moment, all Roy could feel was guilt.
Other than apologizing, he didn’t know what else to do.
Unexpectedly, before he could speak, a voice filled with regret echoed in the darkness.
“Sorry.”
