Chapter 16: The Three of Us
Nia’s whistle sounded at the dining table.
Nia patted Alice’s shoulder and said with a smile, “Any wish is fine—Roy is so generous, so we don’t have to be polite, right?”
“Well, I’d say, if you occasionally act cute to seek affection, the junior might like you more~” Leanna shot a meaningful glance at Roy.
Charlotte remained silent, but she didn’t seem to have any intention to refute.
At this moment, Alice vaguely realized that the “initiative” that Vanilla mentioned might not mean the same thing she had in mind.
As a maid, Alice had never considered actively asking her master for anything.
But once she got Roy’s permission and let go of that restriction, the wishes buried deep within her heart erupted all at once.
If you set aside the master-maid relationship, her most desired wish—
In a daze, Alice reminisced about various romantic scenes she had encountered.
However, when she looked at the handsome young man in front of her, about to voice her feelings, she suddenly felt inexplicably shy and switched to the second thing she wanted to do instead.
“Master, Alice wants to sleep with you tonight!”
The girls’ teasing abruptly came to a halt.
The small dining table fell silent.
Even Roy was caught off guard and looked a bit bewildered.
Want to sleep together?
Ah, could it be that she saw me cuddling with Charlotte and the others every night and thought, “I want in on that too”?
Actually, it wouldn’t be impossible, but the timing might not be right?!
Roy cautiously glanced at the three girls, feeling a chill run down his spine.
Alice also realized that the atmosphere was off and snapped back to reality.
To be honest, Alice, who had been taught since childhood that a master wouldn’t have just one maid, didn’t quite understand why every time a new woman appeared around Roy, it caused Charlotte and the others such distress.
However, not understanding didn’t mean she was oblivious to the situation.
Being overly intimate with her master might provoke a similar uproar as before, putting him in danger.
So Alice lowered her eyes and pretended to be indifferent, saying, “If it’s not okay, then forget it—”
“Sure, just keep her company tonight.”
A cheerful voice suddenly rang out.
In an instant, both master and maid unexpectedly turned to the elven girl.
Especially Roy, who shot her a “Are you serious?” look.
But Nia waved her hand dismissively, “What are you looking at me for? Just keep your promise.”
Following that, Leanna also chimed in, “The lamb that’s kept the junior drooling is finally falling into the tiger’s den. How delightful!”
Granted, her phrasing was a bit off, but Leanna didn’t oppose the idea either.
Finally, after a long silence, Charlotte turned her gaze away, sighed softly, “As the master, it’s not a bad thing to spoil a maid occasionally.”
An astonishing unanimous agreement.
Since that’s the case, Roy felt no need for further reservations and smiled slightly at the little maid, “Then tonight, I’ll keep you company.”
A little later.
The boys and girls exchanged goodnights and returned to their respective rooms.
However, it wasn’t long before a door quietly opened.
A crimson figure sneaked into the darkness, arriving at Roy’s room.
Here, she unexpectedly bumped into the elven girl who was also lurking about, giving her a fright.
“W-What are you doing up so late?”
“Hey, aren’t you the same? So anxious, aren’t you?”
“I’m not anxious, I just wanted to go to the restroom…”
“The restroom’s not even in this direction, okay?!”
After arguing for a bit, both fell silent, staring at the closed door with complex expressions.
Not exactly bitter, but a bit sour—sour enough to make their hearts ache.
Perhaps every night when she nestled up to Roy, Alice might feel the same way.
Charlotte glanced at the dejected Nia, surprised, “What’s this? You were the first to stir things up, and now you’re feeling jealous?”
Nia scratched her ear tips and shot her a look, “Says you! You didn’t refuse either!”
“And you over there, since you’re already here, why hide? Come out and chat.”
The shadow of the witch unfolded in the darkness, and the exposed Leanna felt a bit awkward.
“I was just going to the restroom…”
“The restroom’s not in this direction. *2”
The three girls exchanged glances and sighed in unison.
Truthfully, they all knew that Roy’s affection for Alice far exceeded how he treated an ordinary maid. There were even rumors that he changed his bad ways due to his encounter with Alice.
As for Alice, the feelings she held for Roy were anything but simple; it was just that her own purity led to a slow progression.
When would they finally reach that stage? It was uncomfortable. But eventually, they would, that was a consensus among the three girls.
However, they had no intention of getting in the way.
Given Alice’s status in Roy’s heart, forcibly stopping them would only hurt him.
Moreover, Alice had something that set her apart from the other girls.
“Actually, she helped me before,” Nia said ambiguously.
But the other two already understood.
Leanna let out a bitter laugh, “Me too.”
Charlotte turned her gaze away, “Same here.”
Throughout their acquaintance with Roy, they had all received Alice’s help, to varying degrees.
Charlotte couldn’t forget how, during their initial match-making, Alice had mentioned Roy’s many good qualities to her maid, hoping she wouldn’t hate him.
Nia’s meeting with Roy was thanks to Alice, who had always intentionally created chances for her to be alone during meals.
As for Leanna, there was no need to mention it. Despite some minor conflicts earlier, she had learned from Roy that it was Alice who first suggested everyone accept her.
Now, the three girls managed to coexist harmoniously, partly due to the pleasant atmosphere Alice intentionally created at the table.
Having met Roy before them, Alice had countless opportunities to stop them from getting together. Yet she did nothing.
Perhaps her true intention was solely for Roy’s happiness.
But they would not forget this favor.
Since Alice could go to such lengths for Roy’s happiness, why couldn’t they do the same?
Selfish individuals would only prove they didn’t deserve to be by Roy’s side.
“So, let’s just leave them alone, shall we?” Nia exhaled, looking up with a smile.
Charlotte nodded, “Yeah.”
Leanna responded, “That sounds good.”
Just for one night, letting that kid have her way should be fine.
The three girls returned to their rooms.
However, five minutes later, they found themselves once again at Roy’s room door, all feeling a bit anxious.
Didn’t we say we wouldn’t care?
Charlotte forcefully regained her dignity, “Ahem, I’m just worried Alice might get bullied by Roy.”
Nia gave a dry laugh, “Same here.”
Leanna nodded, “Exactly.”
The three girls leaned against the door, straining their ears to eavesdrop on the sounds inside.
Though they had internally accepted that Alice would eventually join the picture, the fact that she might surpass them was unacceptable!
Sleeping alone with a guy for an entire night? That was too risky, no matter how you looked at it!
Even if she wasn’t the first to meet Roy, that kind of thing should be something she should do first, right?!
Thinking of that, the three grew tense, preparing for any unusual sounds from within the room.
