[???]
“What the heck, sis, I’m scared… I’m shaking like crazy! 😔
“Hey, the gallery lord? What’s going on here?”
“What on earth is happening right now??”
“The sky is falling! The world is crumbling! The nation’s collapsing! Society’s in shambles! Homes are falling apart! Common sense has gone out the window, everyone!”
“Is the guy up top losing his mind? Is this a joke or what?”
“Yo, this ain’t fake! The gallery lord is on live broadcasting!”
“This is really live broadcasting! Watching it in real-time!”
“President! Issuing a ‘Jindo Dog’ alert!”
“We’re screwed! Damn it!”
“Heh, now we’re rolling with the flow.”
With the desired momentum building up, the once timid Peepee’s mouth began to chatter away.
The voice donations started coming in fiercely, filled with questions demanding explanation for the current situation.
But it’s not a bad reaction—actually, it’s a pretty good vibe.
The chat was filled with shock mingled with joy. An unknown fear was quickly morphing into unprecedented hope.
Yeah, this was the Hero. The being that brought light, hope, and salvation to the hearts of those filled with despair. The guardian of the world and order.
Gazing at the numerous cameras and microphones floating before me, I carefully considered the shooting angles.
Having thousands of multi-abilities, like A-jin, is tough, but juggling maybe six isn’t that hard for me as the mascot of a magical girl hero.
“Don’t worry, Bitch Sehee! I’ll make sure your hero debut is just as dazzling as me, Peepee!”
The mission assigned to me is simple.
Right now, while broadcasting live on the Friede Channel, I needed to capture the hero debut in the most splendid and extravagant way.
Daya’s combat power is locked and loaded, so, honestly, as the mascot, my role is just the flashy sidekick.
“Okay, everyone, calm down. Just breathe.”
“Seriously, do you think this is a situation where we can just chill out??”
“Why on earth is that lotus in that state? Who are you people?”
“Nobody should be making these folks angry!”
“A real Hero? This world actually exists?”
“I understand many people are curious about this. But the situation is urgent, so I’ll explain quickly. That’s the Demon King invading this Earth…”
Peepee directed his gaze at the Demon King glaring at us from below, the tip of the Holy Sword aimed at him.
“We are the ‘former Heroes’ who have returned to defend the Earth. Now, let’s save the world.”
Heroes? Demon King?
And content of saving the world?
The absurdity only fueled the chaos even further.
Well, honestly, the story told up until now had pieced together enough of the puzzle.
Yet, the reason for this outburst was that no one expected rules like those from fantasy, involving Heroes and Demon Kings, could actually exist in modern civilization.
As the Heroes descended slowly upon the golden-blazed nebula, they were met by the Demon King and his legions of demons.
The confrontation before the Demon King’s face, stationed right at the front, was enough to instill tension in the hearts of everyone watching—it was the calm before the storm.
* * *
Confusion, anger, shock, fear.
The face of the Demon King reflected all sorts of emotions.
You could ask how I know so clearly about the creature’s face that’s just a lump of darkness with only eyes. But I’ve seen these kinds so many times.
I could even empathize with him. After all, he must have been stunned by the sudden appearance of five Heroes.
The only Hero I had encountered through the galaxy was me. The other Heroes were merely ordinary folk with their powers sealed away.
In fact, I had yet to show my full strength to the galaxy, so the Demon King would’ve likely assessed my abilities as comparable to a regular Hero, similar to those in the galaxy.
If so, it’s clear that his perception of the Earth’s power level has tanked.
“Whoa, isn’t that a demon world over there?”
“Eek!”
“That’s the view of the world where the Demon King has won.”
Surrounded by the Demon King’s cloak, the view of this world unfolded in the darkness pouring from the demons.
A landscape visible only through the Heroes, it was in an atrocious state.
Countless demons were swarming the Earth and screaming as they poured through the gateway opened by the Demon King.
“Looks like putting us all in was the right call, sis!”
Just as Daya said.
If it was just about hunting down the Demon King or his minions, I could handle that by myself.
Still, the reason we needed assistance from the other Heroes was simply that we needed to save the galaxy.
If I annihilate the Demon King just like that, then the galaxy caught inside him would perish too—exactly the opposite of what we want.
While I separate the galaxy from the Demon King, I desperately needed help from the other Heroes to fend off the demon attacks. At the very least, to completely block the damage.
Looking at everyone waiting for my orders, I said, “Alright, I’m counting on you. Just hold on for one hour.”
“Got it!”
From their vigorous replies filled with shining trust and belief, I lightly swung the Holy Sword.
In the blink of an eye, just with the swing of the Holy Sword, all the Demon King’s resistance was shattered, leaving him with a significant wound on his upper body.
Maybe it was the unexpected sneak attack, or perhaps the sheer destructive power was beyond imagination, but the look of shock on his face was quite a sight.
Of course, I’d save the main course for later.
‘Gotta save the galaxy first.’
I focused my holy powers, transforming my body into golden particles, and squeezed myself through the opening left by the Demon King’s wound.
Wait for me, galaxy! I’m coming!
* * *
“Yeah! Just as planned!”
“Hey, that’s the classic line from a plan that usually goes terribly wrong, don’t say it.”
As I calmed the noisy Peepee, Daya glanced over at the Demon King.
The wound on his chest surely dealt substantial damage, but it wasn’t quite decisive.
“How’s everyone? Does that guy seem strong?”
“Well, he’s impressive but stronger than most I’ve faced.”
“He’s a foe stronger than a Calamity Demon.”
“He looks more wicked than any villainous lady.”
Just as I thought, right?
He’s no ordinary Demon King; he’s the mastermind behind devouring worlds, gods, and mortals wholesale while corrupting the stars.
No doubt, the power he has consumed and digested far exceeds that of your average Demon King. Plus, there’s that horde of demons swarming below.
“Isn’t that a bit too much?”
We might have to fight the entire demon world.
In truth, I didn’t even need to rush to save the galaxy right now. I could thoroughly neutralize the Demon King and still have plenty of time to act.
My sister had enough strength to afford that. It seemed absurd when she first mentioned this plan, but her reasoning was even more ridiculous.
“You guys need to look spectacular to grab the broadcast angle.”
In the current situation, which could potentially lead to the world’s destruction, she couldn’t resist tuning into the broadcast angle.
Having to put in this much effort for such a casual reason was a true reflection of my sister.
“Well, let’s give it our all.”
While they were indeed stronger than the Demon King we faced, my sister had weakened him enough with her preemptive strike. Not to mention, there were four Heroes on this side.
With the buffs from my sister already applied, if it’s just stalling for time, I could last several hours.
“I’ll take care of the Demon King myself as per the plan.”
The one to signal the opening of battle was Jihye.
Her sacred art, already transcending the meaning of mastery, dashed toward the Demon King, stepping through dimensions.
As she lightly swung her arms, a multitude of swords sprang forth in unison, following the trajectory of her hands.
Each sword was a divine weapon acquired by Jihye, the hero who defeated the Calamity Demon, and left a legendary name.
The unique blue aura imbued in Jihye’s inner strength spread like a haze, forming a barrier of strong energy that enveloped the swords like a web.
“Is this all you’ve got?”
The darkness draped over him twisted grotesquely, transforming into sharp spikes.
The thorns of darkness shot forth at a speed that could swallow light, colliding with the legendary weapons.
The earth-shattering roar and vibrations resonated within Sehee’s radiant golden barrier, and some weakling demons were shredded to pieces from the sheer shockwave alone.
Amidst the appalling display of devastation, Jihye maintained her composure, wrapped in silver divine power, while the Demon King’s eyes widened.
The contrast between his torn spikes and her calmness showcased the difference in their abilities, yet even with the force in his favor, he managed to maintain his coldness and deduced the cause.
“I’ll handle the supporting role.”
The next to step up behind Jihye was Yuri.
Lifting her slender Holy Sword, the silver divine power surrounding Sehee diligently protected all remaining members.
“With the blessings from two Paladins, I feel confident! Everyone wait! I’ll take down the Demon King before Sehee gets here!”
“You can’t do that! You’ll lose the galaxy!”
“Oh snap! Got too hyped up!”
Yuri corrected herself in shock as the Demon King shot her an intense glare of wrath.
How dare she enjoy herself while disregarding him!
“Go! Kill all remnants of the old generation! Offer their heads to me!”
―■■■■■■!
As the Demon King’s command fell, the demon horde, once suppressed by the overwhelming presence of the Heroes, screamed and charged fiercely.
Connecting their bodies together, no matter how elevated the Heroes in the heavens were, they aimed to pull them down and tear them apart.
Just witnessing it was enough to induce fear, yet Daya and A-jin displayed no signs of panic.
As the first wave of demons approached, they merely delivered the quiet sentence of death.
In an instant, without any specific incantation, a shockwave unleashed by the tip of her staff, combined with psychic lightning emitted from her clones, wiped them out in seconds.
“Getting a bit excited, huh? Yo, A-jin. You ready?”
“Not yet.”
“What?”
What in the world is she talking about?
Turning to face the unexpected response, I noticed A-jin and her clones were acting strangely.
With her whole body concentrating psychic energy, A-jin’s eyes lit up, and she called out to all her clones.
“Hero and one thousand high-tier clones! Fusion, combine!”
Uh-oh?
What’s going on with her?
Despite the sudden change, A-jin continued unabated.
As their heads connected through psychic energy, a massive psychic storm erupted, sucking in all of her clones toward A-jin.
This was the eye of the storm. While A-jin’s form grew calm, the tempest of psychic waves around her was poised to devour the world.
Once the fusion was complete, A-jin opened her eyes and clenched her fists, yelling.
“With overwhelming power!”
“That line isn’t yours!”
Daya’s incredulous outburst echoed across the vicinity.
