Your Commander-in-Chief – Chapter 127

“Huh…”

As I opened my eyes at the Resurrection Location, a stunned admiration slipped out at the sight before me.

Over three thousand incredible figures were mixed together at the entrance of the resurrection site, swinging their weapons at one another.

“Kill them all!”

“Whoa!”

Spears and swords gleamed as they flew towards each other’s necks. Flames and ice filled the sky, but they scattered without ever fully forming.

The moment we stepped out of the safe zone, it was certain that someone would lose their head.

Even at this moment, newly dead users were rising once again from the resurrection site.

This was a serious situation. I needed to get the guild members outside, and fast.

It wasn’t just me thinking this way. Messages began pouring in from the guild leaders of the Soft & Chewy Alliance.

Not Sane-[I think we need to pull back for a moment, let’s set a location and send a summon order.]

Evil God-[Our thieves are already using stealth to slip away.]

Maple-[We are pulling back too.]

Everyone was on the same page.

I frowned and spread the map.

I needed a location not too far from the resurrection site, yet well-hidden from the eyes of the masses, and with a clear path to fly directly there.

Fortunately, such a place existed.

A wide spot with a flowing waterfall. It didn’t have a special name, but was known as a good place to take pretty screenshots.

Yeo-[Let’s move towards the waterfall. We’ll send the summon order there and move all at once.]

Maple-[Sounds good.]

The location was decided.

I instantly sent a one-on-one message to Iyap.

I couldn’t hastily announce our position in the guild chat, as information might leak.

Yeo-[Iyap, you know of the nearby waterfall, right? [Check Coordinates] Please move there and send the summon order.]

Iyap-[I’m on the move now. I’ll be there shortly.]

As I confirmed Iyap’s reply, I looked up at the sky. A bright lightning bolt glimmered against the dark scale of the mount.

Suddenly, the image of a sentence I found impressive in another game came to mind.

– The dragon is in the sky, and man cannot defeat it.

What a waste of sentiment. I shook my head and brushed off the thought.

Iyap-[I’ve arrived. I’ll use the summon order now.]

Yeo-[Yes, please go ahead.]

The moment I responded to Iyap’s message, a notification popped up in front of me.

[‘Iyap’ has used the summon order.]

As I responded to the summon order, my body began to soar away in a bright white light.

It wasn’t just our Soft & Chewy Cow Guild.

The Demon Clan allies, tangled together at the resurrection site, started disappearing one by one.

Boom!

The spot where I landed with the light was right in front of a large waterfall.

Boom! Crash! Boom!

Beams of light cascaded endlessly from the sky.

Other alliance members began to arrive at this place as well.

The guild leaders of the alliance, emerging from the columns of light, approached me and spoke.

“Shouldn’t we aim for somewhere other than the head?”

“No, attacks won’t deal proper damage anywhere else. To claim the drop items, we need to hammer at the head.”

“Only during the breath pattern can we call back mounts and drop down. I think that’s better than making any directional changes.”

In the naturally flowing conversation, people began summoning their griffons one by one.

They were preparing to take off.

I too spread my arms wide and shouted.

“Come forth!”

There really was no need to shout. The mount would appear automatically with the required gestures.

But, I wanted to show off. This magnificent and large Windwalker.

Behold, my impressive griffon, the hard-to-catch Windwalker.

“Squawk!”

The revealed chick let out a mighty roar.

It was truly a satisfying sight.

As expected, everyone around had their mouths agape at my display.

“Wow… It’s real.”

“I’ve never seen it before. So that’s how you summon it.”

“I just recorded that.”

“Blood Demon King! You’re amazing!”

I could hear the admiration for my magnificent Windwalker.

I unsheathed my sword atop the back of the chick.

“Let’s go!”

The declaration of the alliance leader.

Those who do not follow are not needed. With a refreshing smile, I soared into the sky.

Over a thousand members began to follow suit behind me.

Matching the swiftly rising altitude, our speed increased even more.

Target: the black dragon’s head. We would smash through anything in our way.

“Charge!”

We raced through the air, cutting through the wind. Following the allied members, we formed a massive cluster towards the black dragon’s head.

In that moment, I spotted the movements of the Human Clan alliance before me.

Like us, they had also taken to the sky.

Their ranks stretched long. It was the perfect timing to strike at their backs.

“Charge! Don’t stop! Just take out their backs and escape!”

At my order, the allies raised their weapons, increasing their speed.

In that instant, countless spells rained down towards the Human Clan alliance.

Boom!

“It’s an ambush!”

“Those bat bastards!”

“The Cow Demon Lord!”

“Kill the Horse King!”

The Human Clan alliance began to respond. But the battle had already started, and with the distance between the main forces considerable, they couldn’t stop us.

We broke right through.

“Charge!”

I shouted vigorously as I swung my sword. The black magic forming at the tip of my sword entwined with the white dragon’s energy, slicing through the enemies’ griffons.

Unlike users, the griffon mounts didn’t have much health.

“Graah!”

They couldn’t fly, couldn’t soar into the sky.

As I plunged my sword into the neck of a griffon, the ordinary mount vanished in a flash of light. It was a forced recall.

“Focus only on the griffons!”

The ambush of the Soft & Chewy Alliance was swift. After targeting the back lines, we quickly herded griffons and escaped.

It was a successful operation to retreat before the Human Clan’s main force assembled.

“You cowardly Demon Clan bastards!”

I couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the enraged voice of the Human Clan user coming from behind.

With a single ambush, hundreds of users were rendered incapable of summoning their griffons.

Once a mount is recalled, it must wait five minutes to recover, which was an enormous time gained.

Of course, there was damage on our side as well.

But compared to the losses of the Human Clan, ours was negligible.

After flying for quite a distance, we arrived in front of the black dragon.

Its health remained intact.

Looking around, I could see no other users aside from small groups or individuals.

I immediately pointed my sword at the black dragon’s head.

“Attack!”

The black dragon raid began anew.

As I rode the chick, I yelled.

“Melee dealers! Follow me!”

I was the only melee dealer among the guild leaders of the alliance.

So it was up to me to issue orders to them as well.

I led the following melee dealers up into the sky above the black dragon’s head.

As we began to approach closely, the immense size of the black dragon became apparent.

Its head was comparable to an island seen in the sea. No, it might have been larger.

At this size, our entire Demon Clan alliance could dance the Soft & Chewy Cow dance right above its head without worry.

“Everyone, jump down!”

The moment we reached the top of the black dragon’s head, we all leaped down together.

“Hyah!”

“Hyyaah!”

The melee dealers who followed began wildly striking at the black dragon’s head with their weapons.

There were plenty of places to hit: the horns, scales, and whiskers shooting up the sides.

I dashed toward the tip of its head, planting my sword in the ground.

“Yaaah!”

Was it because I was attacking the scales? My damage wasn’t registering properly.

The moment I reached the tip of the head, numerous spells rained down upon the black dragon’s face.

They were relentlessly pounding its eyes, mouth, and nose.

Was there truly no better place to deal damage than its face?

The moment I thought this, clear lightning flickered over the black dragon’s body.

Crack!

“Kyii!”

It was a sudden attack.

A jolt surged through my entire body, causing me to stumble to the ground.

The decrease in health was about half; it wasn’t such a powerful pattern, but the speed was too fast.

If I didn’t catch the premonitory signs of the pattern triggering, I wouldn’t be able to dodge.

My eyes swiftly scanned the black dragon’s head.

It was definitely a pattern aimed at the users on the black dragon’s body.

“Here! It’s dealing proper damage!”

In that instant, a member attacking the horns shouted.

The clear lightning enveloped the black dragon’s horns.

I immediately kicked off the ground and charged toward the horns.

“Everyone, attack the horns!”

Users who had been sitting around slapping the black dragon’s head stood up and rushed towards the horns.

The horns were as gigantic as the black dragon itself.

They looked like the pillars of a large building.

As we swung our weapons toward the horns, a dark shadow loomed overhead, accompanied by the sound of griffon wings flapping.

“It’s the Human Clan!”

A user swinging their sword next to me looked up at the sky and shouted in horror.

That voice was to be their last.

Boom!

The light falling from the sky crushed the shouting user’s body and pierced through the dragon’s head.

A shining halo, a massive body, a sword wrapped in divine power. And a gigantic shield being held to cover its body.

A familiar figure.

“Ha ha! Demon Lord! I’ve come to bring judgment upon you!”

The user who fell from the sky was Jupiter.

Of course, he wasn’t the end of it. It seemed he had brought numerous Human Clan allies with him, as users cloaked in light began falling from the sky, attacking our members.

“This bastard!”

An unexpected figure appeared from an unexpected place.

I swung my sword in a fit of anger and pushed Jupiter back.

I almost shouted due to his massive figure and imposing face.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

“Ugh— as expected, Demon Lord… so powerful!”

After parrying my initial strike, Jupiter quickly blocked my subsequent attacks with his shield and swiftly retreated.

Just as I tried to chase Jupiter, another figure stood in my way.

The figure that appeared suddenly from the blurry stealth was Melvin.

Clang!

I barely blocked a silent sword strike that came at me. As Melvin was forced to retreat, he left behind a faint afterimage.

“You cowardly bastards!”

“Ha ha! Demon Lord! This place shall be your grave!”

With Melvin’s support of Jupiter, he wore a confident expression as he laughed.

I aimed my sword forward, quickly scanning my surroundings.

There were far too many Human Clan users who had fallen from the sky.

It was clear that they had turned their main forces this way.

Meanwhile, we had only brought the melee dealers.

Naturally, we were outnumbered.

At that moment, the empty air split open, and a faint blade as translucent as mist came flying in.

My body reacted to the noise created by the parting air.

Clang!

“Melvin…!”

“Blood Demon King. Moo like a cow. Moo.”

“You bastard!”

Clang!

I pushed Melvin back, swinging my sword at him.

But that attack was bound to be blocked in no time.

Blocking my way was a massive Paladin. It was because of Jupiter.

I glared at Jupiter, biting my lip.

– They’re nothing without one-on-one…!

“Ha ha!”

Jupiter laughed heartily, pointing his sword at me.

The divine power wrapped around that sword flickered ominously.
