It was just past 5 AM.
Jupiter logged into the game as usual.
Unlike his small physical body in the real world, he departed to the world of the Light Knight, just as he imagined it.
After connecting to Deron, he felt his viewpoint significantly elevated and checked the lengths of his arms and legs.
Every time he logged in, the dissonance tugged at his ankles.
He had to sit idly in front of a grand fountain until the awkwardness of his huge body disappeared.
It only took about 5 minutes to get used to it.
Jupiter dusted himself off and stood up.
The Light Knight with his towering height proudly admired his Holy Sword.
It was now usable again, a sword he thought he could no longer wield.
It was time to embark on an adventure in the vast world.
Jupiter was famous.
In a not-so-great way. He had been kicked out of the guild several times due to the ugly nickname that followed him.
Still, Jupiter said nothing.
He checked to see which guild he belonged to.
It was a small guild with just over 60 members. Other than the Guild Leader, the rest rarely logged in, so they didn’t pay him any mind. They probably didn’t even know he was a member.
Jupiter – [Hello.]
Sli-pi-u-na-mu – [Welcome.]
The Guild Leader, knowing who he was, kindly returned the greeting.
Jupiter felt a small touch of emotion at that.
After exchanging morning greetings, the conversation was cut off. Thanks to the guild’s motto of not interfering in each other’s territory, Jupiter had no idea what the guild leader was up to.
“Hmm…”
Role-playing.
It was time to immerse himself in the character he had set up.
Jupiter closed his eyes and summoned the Light Knight sleeping within him.
When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer a small-bodied human but the Light Knight chosen by the Sun God.
The Light Knight was overflowing with a sense of justice. He wouldn’t stand for injustice and would always extend a hand to those in need.
It didn’t matter if those in need were NPCs controlled by AI.
“It seems you need my help.”
“Ah, adventurer?”
“I’m not an adventurer. I am the Light Paladin.”
“How fortunate! Could you possibly do me a simple favor?”
“If you need help, anytime.”
“Wow~ then could you clean the stables behind me?”
“… Anytime.”
The Light Knight had to be kind.
Jupiter quietly cleaned the stables that smelled like animal dung.
It was a simple quest he could easily perform. A quest that no one would bother to look at.
But sometimes, such quests would throw a special clue.
Just like this.
“Thank you for your help! I didn’t think I could finish this alone today. This is a token of my gratitude. Please take it.”
[Old Lunaris Statue]
It was a statue of a goddess that emanated a divine aura.
It hadn’t lost its sacred divinity.
Not tradeable
A good start.
Jupiter felt a sense of pride and smiled slightly.
Although it was merely an AI, a doll that only answered within set patterns, seeing the smile on the little girl’s face made him smile unconsciously.
“Thanks.”
The Light Knight didn’t seek gratitude but wouldn’t refuse a gift.
That was how Jupiter had set it up.
The Light Knight set off on his journey again, holding the small statue.
In reality, after several expansions, his inventory was filled with miscellaneous items whose use he couldn’t even ascertain.
This was a result of carrying out every quest due to his personality, but the hints those items offered were all vague, leading him nowhere near the end of those quests.
Probably, the statue of the goddess he received this time would follow a similar pattern.
Just as Jupiter left the capital city and arrived at the hunting ground.
In his sight, he caught a skirmish of a group.
It was a battle between humans clad in blue and the wicked Demon Clan.
At that moment, Jupiter’s eyebrows twitched substantially.
The demons fighting against the humans looked familiar.
Soft & Chewy Cow. It was the guild of the Blood Demon King he recognized as a rival.
Indeed, even after the server merge, they were still waging war against other human clans to spread their power.
Jupiter was amazed by Yeo’s role-playing skills. But Jupiter’s gaze was busy moving.
He was observing the players clad in blue.
The entire group was human. Composed of Paladins, Healers, and Wizards, they belonged to the same guild.
Guild Name [Exorcist]
A name he found appealing.
They seemed to be similar to him. Kindred spirits.
Jupiter felt a resonance in his heart. It was like seeing a close friend.
“Drive out the wicked demons!”
“Divine judgment!”
Jupiter drew his sword. He too was a Light Knight who served the Sun God. The Sword Knight Jupiter was on the humans’ side.
That was the setup.
The brilliant holy sword reflected sunlight, illuminating the surroundings.
Jupiter approached carefully, aiming his holy sword.
“Hey there. You, Exorcists.”
“Who goes there…?”
“That weapon is…!”
Indeed, Jupiter nodded, smiling with satisfaction.
They were role-playing users just like him. There was no way they wouldn’t recognize the appearance of this holy sword.
“Ah, this sword? It’s called the Holy Sword Balmung.”
Even though the unique options of a world item were gone, its appearance, name, and item grade remained intact.
“I, Jupiter, Master of the Holy Sword, shall join in.”
“Y-You, the Master of the Holy Sword…!”
“The Knight of Light has come!”
Jupiter was taken aback by the responses of the Exorcist guild members.
It was the first warm welcome he had ever received.
Bright smiles and admiring gazes directed at him.
It was a kind he had never felt before.
“That guy is…”
“That sparrow.”
Sparrow. It was the nickname he received after he was sniped and died during a strategic retreat.
A cute nickname, but it didn’t suit a Light Knight.
Jupiter aimed his sword at the minions of the Blood Demon King, Soft & Chewy Cow.
“Hah…”
Sparrow. Jupiter’s presence wasn’t very frightening. He was alone, and his gaming skills were terrible.
His character specs were good, but that was it. It was just an increase in manpower.
The members of the Soft & Chewy Cow Guild sighed in frustration.
Their Guild Master was a student. A very small student who hadn’t graduated from middle school yet.
It was nearing 6 AM. They couldn’t skip school, so the Guild Master had left.
Leaving them to handle the aftermath.
But not everyone could be logged in all day.
Just as the Guild Master went to school, there were those who had to go to work as well.
Thus, the number of Soft & Chewy Cow guild members logging in began to significantly decrease.
On the contrary, the number of Exorcist guild members logging in was steadily increasing as time went on.
The arriving zealots instilled a subtle sense of fear.
“Charge! The Master of the Holy Sword fights alongside us!”
The Exorcist Guild began their assault, with Jupiter leading the charge.
And thus, the battle commenced.
Swords clashed, and fire and ice flew toward each other.
It was intense to the brink of being desperate.
The Soft & Chewy Cow Guild fought for their Guild Master, while the Exorcist Guild fought to uphold their concept and beliefs.
Until they were on the verge of death, even as they fell, their eyes remained locked on the enemy.
There was deep anger in their gazes.
Jupiter swung his sword, lost in thought. He swung the brilliant Holy Sword. He was surely on the side of justice.
“Ugh…”
“Die! Wicked demon!”
But for some reason, Jupiter’s gaze turned sideways.
On the ground lay a fallen Soft & Chewy Cow guild member, now becoming a gray corpse, while a blue-clad madman climbed onto him.
The large sword he held swung down onto the corpse.
Jupiter’s movements slowed. He felt as if he had been doused in cold water, waking from a trance.
“Master of the Holy Sword! Get a grip!”
“Ah.”
Jupiter jolted at that desperate voice and swung his sword.
Clang!
A thief sneakily approaching was sent flying.
The Exorcist guild members rushed in, stabbing their weapons in.
It was a battle where the numbers were more than twice that of the enemies. There was no way they could contend.
“Exterminate the demons!”
Of course, they won the battle.
Jupiter stood blankly, watching the behavior of the Exorcist guild members.
Insults, curses, and attacks toward the gray corpse. Actions he couldn’t bear to watch with his eyes open.
In an instant, Jupiter felt a strange illusion that red horns sprouted from above the heads of the blue-clad individuals.
“Thank you. Truly worthy of the Master of the Holy Sword.”
“Say, are you thinking of joining our guild?”
“What country are you from?”
Praise and questions rained down upon Jupiter. He was being invited to join a guild.
Jupiter couldn’t smile. It was a situation he had always wished for, a scenario he had imagined countless times.
But for some reason.
“Demons in the quest area!”
At that moment, a Priest shouted. The mild face of the bespectacled man quickly distorted, flushing red in an instant.
“We need to set off right now!”
The Exorcist guild members began hurriedly preparing to depart, as though they were accustomed to such situations.
Then suddenly, Jupiter felt the gazes directed at him.
“Aren’t you coming?”
“Master of the Holy Sword! Didn’t you just hear? Wicked demons!”
Someone wanted Jupiter to be with them.
Jupiter, standing there blankly, slowly nodded his head.
Jupiter followed them as if being pulled along.
His gaze fell heavily on the spot where the Soft & Chewy Cow guild members had vanished.
When they arrived, the battle was already in full swing.
The sounds of flashy and powerful skills were making his ears ache.
The faces of humans pouring out their hatred towards demons were twisted like demons.
“Join us!”
“Whoaahh!”
Jupiter too was swept along into their ranks like flowing water.
The Demon Clan.
They faced the Soft & Chewy Cow guild.
A guild with a deep enmity. Every face was familiar. Even if they swung their weapons at each other, they didn’t spill out their hatred.
Jupiter’s Holy Sword was not drawn.
He merely stood silently in place.
“Hey there!”
“Master of the Holy Sword!”
They urged him from around.
The Light Knight pondered. He contemplated and contemplated again.
“Draw the sword! Draw the Holy Sword!”
The frenzied gazes turned toward Jupiter.
Jupiter, who was deep in thought, could reach one answer under that gaze.
Swish—
The Holy Sword was drawn.
The splendid Holy Sword was aimed not at the Demon Clan but at the Exorcist Guild.
