Chapter 365: Hair Standing on End in Fury.
The Sui Long and the Qí Lín stared at each other, simultaneously turning their heads away.
The Qí Lín kicked its hooves a couple of times and quietly distanced itself from the Sui Long. The Sui Long glanced at it with disdain but subtly moved closer despite showing apparent disapproval.
“Hooo!”
Meanwhile, the Golden Lion was still eyeing them both hungrily. Both dragons soon focused their attention on the pitch-black beast.
The Golden Lion didn’t flee; instead, it continued to approach the Qí Lín, skillfully dodging the rolling thunder with sideways leaps.
“Hmmph!”
Seeing that the Golden Lion’s gaze never left the Qí Lín, the Sui Long roared in anger—this fight should be against it!
It gathered saliva on its fists and activated the slime mold further before charging forward with large strides toward the Golden Lion.
“Hoo?”
The Golden Lion sidestepped the electric path on the ground, seemingly also avoiding the Sui Long’s punch. He managed to dodge, but a long streak of rolling thunder struck the Sui Long who had jumped in front.
“HHHUUUUMMMGGG?!”
The Sui Long roared furiously at the Qí Lín, which responded with an equally defiant whinny.
But when faced with the Golden Lion lunging straight at it, the Qí Lín quickly retreated, turned around, and began running, as flashes of lightning illuminated the ground.
Although it tried to avoid the Sui Long, the foolish creature kept colliding with its rolling thunder. It was utterly helpless.
The Sui Long grew irritated too. This web of lightning everywhere was restricting its movement without killing the monster—it wondered if this old thing even knew how to fight!
There was no coordination between the two dragons, only growing internal conflict. Meanwhile, the Golden Lion seemed increasingly exhilarated by the electrical shocks coursing through it.
A failed pounce on the Qí Lín led to the Sui Long unleashing a series of punches, spinning around to deliver a savage barrage of stomps with its glowing red fists.
The Slime Mold Bursting Fist clashed with the Combat Qi Hardening Fist, causing chunks of molten rock to scatter everywhere. Both the dragon and the beast staggered back before charging forward again.
As the Golden Lion’s sweeping fist approached, the Sui Long planted its feet firmly, smashing its fists into the ground repeatedly with increasing intensity.
ORA ORA ORA ORA!
Before the hardened fist could break through the Sui Long’s continuous assault, the Golden Lion was slammed into the earth.
Another heavy blow landed squarely on the Golden Lion’s head, sending a pale golden horn flying high into the air before embedding itself into the ground.
“HMMMMPH!”
Did you see that, old man? That’s how you brawl!
The Sui Long lifted its head, glancing at the colt summoning lightning nearby.
The Golden Lion tumbled away, quickly inserting its fingers into a fissure in the ground and hurling a massive boulder at the Sui Long.
Stunned by the impact, the Sui Long watched dazedly as the Golden Lion attacked the Qí Lín once more, only to be kicked far away.
But the Golden Lion clawed its way back up swiftly, leaping effortlessly over the rolling thunder and chasing after the Qí Lín anew.
That perfect prey… was right there for the taking!
If it couldn’t become the ruler wielding golden lightning, then perhaps dying as an unnamed, lowly beast would be better!
The Golden Lion’s eyes burned fiercely now, its fur exuding a burnt smell. Blood soaked its arms where they collided with the Sui Long.
Its bristling fur crackled audibly, as if the king beneath the humble beast was trying to break free.
Its potential drained, the lion’s mane billowed wildly—it was now faster than the Qí Lín!
Neither the rolling thunder nor the exploding slime molds could catch up to it.
It was so close!
It could almost leap out, bypass the Qí Lín’s kick, and embrace the alluring figure it had dreamed of!
But once again, a figure blocked the Qí Lín from behind, raising a fiery red fist to send the airborne Golden Lion crashing down.
The Sui Long surged forward again, delivering explosive punches like hailstones upon the fallen Golden Lion, making it groan pitifully.
“HMMMMPH HOOO!”
Old man, hurry up!
The Qí Lín silently observed the Sui Long pounding the Golden Lion and sighed deeply.
It wanted to lure the Golden Lion away, but this overly combative brute understood nothing.
With victory assured, since he desired it—
Thunder coursed through his body, especially intense around his crystal-like crown. He charged forth like a streak of flying lightning, leaving long trails of rolling thunder behind him as his gleaming crown pierced straight into the exposed chest of the Golden Lion.
Had it pierced through? Yes, blood flowed from the Golden Lion.
Though its head was restrained, the Qí Lín’s gaze remained fixed on the rampant golden lightning.
The Sui Long was thrown back, its crimson hand gripping the crown, forcibly ripping the surging lightning out of its own chest.
The returning arm struck the Sui Long again, dirty and charred fur sticking to the pure white mane of the Qí Lín.
“HOO HA HA MMMPH!”
The Qí Lín calmly watched the Golden Lion roar, breaking apart its crown.
After obtaining the crown, the Golden Lion was flung away.
It bit into the horn with sturdy fangs.
“CRACK!”
The rampant golden lightning nearly obscured everything.
What did the crown mean to the Qí Lín? And what did it mean to the Golden Lion?
The crown was just a horn—not an organ for controlling lightning, differing little from a hoof or nail. It merely represented the pride of an ancient dragon.
The old one had discarded such things long ago and paid it no mind. He simply didn’t want the young one to lose such things either.
But for the Golden Lion, it was a moment of intense current coursing through its veins, a thrilling battle amidst peril, and the ultimate key to unlocking its full potential.
Absolutely essential.
Golden lightning dyed the pitch-black, lowly beast gold, the euphoria of released potential transforming into a radiant beam that sent the rushing Sui Long stumbling backward and falling.
The Qí Lín rose to its feet, its thunder dimming. But with a snort, the azure lightning covered its body again, its snow-white mane standing on end, hair literally rising in rage.
There was still more to fight. Hopefully, the young one would know to retreat.
The rolling thunder became even more perilous, crisscrossing and piercing through the Golden Lion.
The fallen Sui Long stumbled up, emitting an angry roar.
It didn’t understand the relationship between the Golden Lion and the Qí Lín, only recognizing the monster before it as stronger and more dangerous.
But the old one wasn’t fleeing—it was charging forward.
The Sui Long gritted its teeth and followed suit.
Whether from the ever-fluctuating battle instincts or the sudden surge of energy beyond perception, Jié Jié found himself outrunning the fire dragons, accelerating even more.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
